As I have said numerous times, your talent knows no bounds and I could watch you watercolour all day. Your use of colour blows my mind, and one of joys of watching your videos is learning something new each time. Thank you so much for sharing your creative brilliance, it is much appreciated.
Just beautiful. I would never know when to stop painting as there were many times I thought it looked wonderful to me as it was. I think watercoloring like this is a true talent developed over a long period of time. It doesn’t come overnight!
It's such a joy to look you painting, so releaxing also. Your card is beautiful, thank you so much for for the great video with all your tips. Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.
You paint like an old master, Debby! 😊 Lovely card-your realistic take on this organic fruit set is amazing!! I didn’t recognize the set initially!!!☺️ Beautifully done, and thanks for the tutorial on your process. Lots to learn!!
That is just beautiful. I am amazed at how you keep adding layer upon layer of paint to the pear to get the final result that you wanted. I love everything about this painting and card. It is stunning and your talent is just amazing.
Such a lovely pear. I’m a huge fan of your muted color palette. A vintage look is my favorite and you do it beautifully. Always inspiring and I enjoy the tips and tricks along the way. Thank you 😊❤️
Dear Debby - You may suspect that there are those who zoom through your videos and do not watch them in their entirety. I can do that with others' videos, but not with yours. I have once or twice been pressed for time and have tried to forward through the painting portion w/ the instrumental music (which is lovely, BTW). I find that I back the cursor up and watch. I am so intrigued by this shade or that line that I cannot speed through. And so I watch. And so I learn. I found this video and your discourse on paint/water ration particularly helpful. You are so talented! I appreciate the link to Cindy Lane - her name is new to me. I have followed Alberto for a while and agree that his skill is genius. I agree w/ other reviewers who noted that knowing when to stop and call a painting finished is a difficult skill to cultivate. Your work delights and inspires, Lori S in PA (USA)
What a great tutorial!! I always stop too soon I think for fear of wrecking it. I know it is only a piece of paper but I hate messing up something that has some potential. I Definately need to loosen up. Thankyou for this great info.
Beautiful work! As a newbie I wish you would tell us more often which colors you’re using or mixing since I don’t have a clue what to use. May I also ask what size brushes you’re using? I need to get brushes and any recommendations are welcome. I’m interested in watercoloring small images a I am a card maker.
Hi Kristine. I will make a note to talk more about colours moving forwards. Although I'd prefer if people used what they had to hand. Getting paint on paper is the main thing. As for brushes. I'd recommend size 2 and 4 round synthetic brushes. Princeton Heritage 4050R is a good range at a reasonable price point. Hope that helps.
Sur La Table sells appetizer serving plates made out of ceramic that work great and extremely affordable compared to ceramic palettes, I do like the one you are using though, no waisting of paint as you change projects, is this still available on the market?
Yes, any flat, cermamic surface is perfect and so much more affordable. If you are interested in this palette though, you can find it here www.jacksonsart.com/stephen-quiller-porcelain-palette-13x13in?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=6364d3f0f495b6ab9dcf8d3b5c6e0b01 Hope that helps!
I love your water coloring and have been practicing - not anywhere near as good as you! I’m a newbie for sure :) I was wondering - where did you get that big round palette you are using? I’ve seen others use it too but don’t know where to find it - thanks!
Hi Pat, it is a monster, but I like it as my studio palette. I got mine from here in the UK, they do ship internationally though too. Hope it helps :D www.jacksonsart.com/stephen-quiller-porcelain-palette-13x13in?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=6364d3f0f495b6ab9dcf8d3b5c6e0b01
