OMG Your painting is so beautiful. I've been water colouring for some time now but I struggle with "over-doing" my blending and am working hard at letting the paint go where it wants to go. My brain understands the theory but my hands interfere in practice - lol. I watch you and am pretty darn envious as your technique is fabulous. Your channel is my favourite one to watch!!!

@deborahfleming6101
@deborahfleming6101 3 года назад
Thank you for sharing your tips, Debby. I will try your approach to working in layers. Looks like I need to get some smaller size brushes for that fine detail work. How small were the brushes you were working with here? P.S. I tried your two-brush technique so you don’t waste paint. I thought it would be cumbersome, but it really was an enjoyable experience. Thank you again!
@DebbyHughes
@DebbyHughes 3 года назад
Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed the two-brush technique! As for brush sizes, I'd say a size 2 for this type of painting. The only thing is a size 2 from one company can feel very different to a size 2 from another!

@DebbyHughes
@DebbyHughes 2 года назад
Hi Debs, I can't honestly remember but for no-line watercolouring my go-to is a light ink such as Antique Linen Distress Ink. I aim for the lightest of applications - so I can just about see the outlines but so that they are easy to work into the painting. Hope that helps!
