Hi guys, I enjoyed Arrows Weird Wisconsin - The Bill Rebane Collection a lot recently. Some interesting stuff including a feature length documentry. Highly recommended for film buffs. And I had a great time watching Switchblade Sisters from Walter Hill (Spider Baby, Foxy Brown). Surprisingly interesting and unique film. The new console seems to be quite versatile. I'm not sure if I like the high end eq and filters, but that's a general problem I got with the bx stuff. I will try this thing via the subscription. Great video show as always. Cheers
Just wanted to let you know what PA Dirk thinks about his customers. PA is announcing the release of a new console. First they use the louder is better trick. Someone wrote he is disappointed that pa still does not have auto gain compensation. Dirks reply: "NOT coming LOL" In other works" Fu.k you customer, give me your money, I do not care about your opinion. What a bad, disgusting and poor mindset!
@@Camille-nf9bl I don't think it's fair to say that Mr. Ulrich doesn't care about his customers. PA have great sales, like at the moment, they give money off vouchers to regular buyers and simply have some great products. Perhaps there is a technical issue as to why that feature is not included, perhaps there is an ideological reason. I have not had problems with their support team either.
@@Archaic1Eye He insulted me personally and publicly. I only said that Iron had some serious issues that were easy to demonstrate (and I wasn't the only one... plenty of dreadful aliasing examples online if you know where to search). Support stopped replying to my tickets. So yes, it's not only that he doesn't care, it's that he is just a total douchebag.
too funny, I was thinking at one point during this "I wonder if they'll ever review the Black Box Analog Design HG-2MS?" I can't say more than I love it, and think more people should know about it. So take that as a vote to get talking about it!
Great vid as always , this Amek 9098i sounds great , when its on a deal its one to get 100% , have you had a play with the the BB N105 channel strip plugin modeled on the console in Studio A at Blackbird Studio ? Also another one that i've not seen anyone talk about is the RND Portico 5033 & RND Portico 5043 by steinberg and i believe Rupert Neve himself said it's the only plugin that sounds true to his Designs , saying that , that was many years ago and the snow sounds spot on to my old ears ;) . Thanks again for your vids you dudes make a 43 min vid on 1 plugin fly buy that was a pun BUY BUY this plugin lol.
I think Snow is the most overlooked plug-in Acustica has put out. It hasn’t left my mixbus since it released. It also recreates a sound I was already a huge fan of. I prefer the modern Neve stuff over the classic Neve sound in general. Snow definitely captures that vibe and it’s been working great on everything for me
@@mrnelsonius5631 your spot on mate , it does what the hardware does and there isn't that much difference , if u solo yeah on some things u can hear a difference , but no one hears it when the mix is done. the way i look at it is this , many times i've gone back into the drum room or live room and a mic has dropped , does it mess the recording up ? can anyone hear it , no they can't . And yes we are all looking for the 1% extra and it all adds up , but the end mix is good or different with the snow , some plugins are pants after you have maxed then out and played with then for hours and days , and u know what works and don't , u see how u can push them but not with the snow . There are a few new plugins out there that are just so good nowadays that i don't bother with the hardware , time is the key thing in a studio when ur working on a job and being quick and getting the job done is key , it leaves more time to play with the mix and playing is the fun part , edits are dull and i hate them , we just want to play with the mix and good plugins lets us all do this . what a great chan this is, love the vids the dudes put out and great reply Mr nel Sonius. I am Sure you get what i am saying .
@@airforu9923 we live in amazing times! I’m a touring musician as well as a songwriter and producer, so I don’t have the luxury of working with quality hardware most of the time (I’m either in a hotel, a tour bus, or a green room 🙃) so these 98% there “damn close” plugins are a life-changer for me. It’s pretty remarkable. I have some hardware in my home studio I love, but I’ve invested more into software out of necessity. I don’t feel like that’s holding me back at all. I’d still love to own some Manley outboard or a Silver Bullet. That extra couple percent sweetness can be divine ;)

talking about 80s horror movies if you want a BAD film check out The Stuff (1985) and also Street Trash (can't remember the year of that) but both really cheesy films.
Curious about this one. I picked up Acustica’s Amethyst on sale a while back, thought it sounded great.... and then just never use it. I may just not be a fan of the Amek sound. The Acustica tends to add a “soft sheen” to everything that is lovely in isolation but then I don’t like it in a mix. It may be material dependent in all honesty (maybe it’s perfect on say, orchestral/ambient soundtrack music instead of high energy pop/rock). We’ll see if this one changes my opinion :)
