Official Cobra Kai Description:
Decades after their legendary 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament clash, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso find themselves on opposite ends of life's spectrum. A down-on-his-luck Johnny attempts redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his old rivalry with the now-successful Daniel. This, however, reignites old tensions and ignites a new generation of fighters.
Cobra Kai, created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, is a sequel to the beloved Karate Kid films. Originally a RU-vid Red/Premium series, it shifted to Netflix for later seasons. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and takes place roughly between 2017 and 2019.
The show offers a fresh perspective on the "Miyagi-verse" through Johnny's eyes. It explores the consequences of unresolved conflict and the complexities of good versus bad. While Johnny and Daniel remain the central characters, the series also features a talented young cast including Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, and Jacob Bertrand. Familiar faces from the Karate Kid films, like Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith, also return.

My thoughts about the secrets that Mr. Miyagi kept from Daniel is that he was fully aware that he pretended that he never met Master Kim Sun Yung when Terry visited them in the backyard in Karate Kid Part 3 but my theory is that Kim Sun Yung was so jealous of Mr Miyagi's reputation in the USA military that he desperately wants to tarnish the Miyagi style of karate and that added another layer why Sato hates him so much. Sato may have been some falling out with his best friend but this is getting even more personal when Kim Sun Yung verbally insulted the Miyagi-Do karate style for self defense. Sato's intense anger towards Master Kim is not just because of his controversial fighting style but because Sato upholds the teachings taught to him and he respects his teacher. He still knows when to put his heart in the right place.

COBRA KAI NATION: I think this means that we’re going to learn some things about Mr. Miyagis past that no one could have ever even begin to fathom which may inevitably open up the door 🚪 to a prequel spin off that allows to explore all of these things a lot closer through the eyes of a Young Mr. Miyagi himself.

I want to know what those dates on the documents mean. We know Mr. Miyagi was born in 1925, so he was about 13 in 1938 (the date on the document). The USA sent troops into WWII at the end of 1941 or early 1942, and the war ended in September 1945. Miyagi could have begun serving by 1942 if he fudged about his age a little (a lot of young men did), and he would have fought in Europe until WWII ended. That means he married young (before age 18), and in 1942 his pregnant wife was confined in a WWII relocation camp. Interesting!

The thing in the middle has a japanese enso symbol on it. Im a Zen Buddhist and it is the symbol of Japanese Zen Buddhism. Mr Miyagi took Julie Pierce to a zen buddhist monastery in The next karate kid, so maybe there is a connection?

Oooh I hope that is the way we get Julie back she is the only one of Miyagis students that has not appeared in the series. I like this theory!!! keeping my fingers crossed for Julie to reappear! And in that movie Miyagi did state his father took on Julies grandfather as a student.

Somehow I doubt it, but I would HOPE so!!! 🫶 No matter what people think of the movie she was in, Hilary sure as heck weren’t the problem. Those STILL doubting if she’s gonna appear, they have a surprise coming. There’s no doubt in my mind. For those who was wondering in kobra kai season six ... his full name Full is keisuke Nariyoshi Miyagi Alias of these names means Hideo Miyagi, Keisuke Miyagi , these names in Japanese means Hideo" means "hero." Also Keisuke" means "save." Hideo was given to all Japanese soldiers in honor of the people they saved ... Also his job in the Army was Staff Sergeant (US Army) in 442nd Infantry Regiment so would have tought soldiers in his platoon and us soliders Affiliation of Miyagi-Dô Karate to help defend themselves against the Japanese empire who would know karate of different styles but miyagi do was about defending at all cost to the death as in karate kid part 3 against chosen and daniel

I believe that Miyagi secrets could mean the secret fighting techniques that could be used against Cobra Kai or maybe the sc rolls could lead to Miyagi’s ancestors. Maybe Daniel Larusso might meet Mr. Miyagi’s ancestors. Maybe Mr. Miyagi’s scrolls could be connected to Cobra Kai’s darkest secrets like Kim Sung Yung.

It is unlikely that any of mr miyagis anscestors are still alive. Its possible, but unlikely. However, if one of them were alive, like another descendant of shimpo sensei for example, maybe they will teach miyagi fang and help to defeat cobra kai.

I think that the secrets are about Miyagi's father Because if you watched The new karate kid with Julie {Hillary Swank) You will remember Miyagi mentioned His Father also Taught Julies Grandfather, {Miyagi and Julies Grandfather were in the war together} witch means at some time they were both in the United States Together} {witch may explain the passport}! Julies Grandfather taught Julies father, Julies father then taught Julie. I am hoping this leads up to Bringing Julie back. She is the only one of Miyagi's students we have not seen.

@@leonardopoxes7516 yes; but before her parents died, her father taught Julie some, but she was very young when they died; and kinda forgot some of it; Her grandma is Julies guardian and knew Miyagi because her husband, {Julies grandfather} when he comes to accept the award Miyagi just refreshes her memory and teaches her more.

Theory: Mr. Miyagi entered de Sekai Taikai in the 1940s and this is how he got into the US. This would mean he had another sensei after his father and he entered the Sekai Taikai through that Dojo. We will discover that much of what Miyagi taught Daniel in the first movies came half from Okinawa and the other half on this mystery dojo. It would be cool if at some point in the Sekai Taikai, Mr. Miyagi met Kim Sun Yung although not properly introduced.

The timing doesn't work. Mr. Miyagi was already living and working in the USA by no later than 1940, maybe earlier (wondering about that 1938 date on one of the documents). He married a Japanese-American woman, who was confined in an involuntary internment camp beginning in 1941, while Miyagi served in the USA military in Europe (he mentioned fighting German soldiers). The USA sent troops into WWII at the end of 1941/beginning of 1942, and WWII ended in September 1945, which is probably when Mr. Miyagi returned from Europe.

I guess I was right! Watch the reveal that Mr. Miyagi was second place at the tournament defeated by Kim Sun Yung himself. Yes, Miyagi was a second place just like Johnny/Robby, he was also a troublemaker just like Johnny/Robby and despite all his tragedies, Miyagi lived in peace, something Johnny (and all of us) can learn from. Miyagi is full of secrets!

@@dangroz03 I'm only familiar with the first two movies, but if Mr. Miyagi told Julie that Daniel was in college, that's a little continuity error by the CK writers, because in Cobra Kai when Robby first began working at the LaRusso car dealership, Daniel told him he'd never gone to college. (Unless, perhaps, Daniel meant he never graduated from college?)

The kanji behind the calendar appears to be a date, 2 二, 8 八, 5 五, 5 五. It’s sometimes written like that on martial arts certificates, but probably other documents too.
