tbh I think he's going to be a real oppressive force, and hopefully he's the kind of villain that I like, the kind of guy who you don't get to learn a lot about, he's meant to represent the distilled Cobra Kai ideology into one guy. He'll definitely take out Robby, like Pepsi says, and I think it's going to be a serious fight between him and Miguel, but it's going to be like how at the end of second All-Valley with Hawk, Robby, and Miguel, where the hierarchy of strength isn't 100% clear between the three, and Part 3 will probably resolve it via resolving Robby and Miguel's rivalry (hopefully Rocky 3 Style).
I always thought they should do a Hawk spinoff of him tryna go pro (UFC or Cobra Kai verse equivalent) but since they’re kinda nerfing him they should definitely do it with Kwon!
Kwon is the ultimate culmination of everything Johnny and Daniel want to prevent, a righteous fire led by Cobra Kai’s teachings, this is why he’s such a threat to everything this show has built towards. He is the physical manifestation of Strike first; strike hard, no mercy.
Kwon is at least as tough as KK3 Mike Barnes, if not tougher. I do think either Miguel or Robby will take down Kwon in the end though. I think Kwon will try to physically hurt Robby and/or Miguel but Robby and/or Miguel will win in the end. I also think Miguel or Robby will use Kwon's arrogance against him and it will cost Kwon the Sekai Takai tournament.
I even predicted we’d eventually see a character like him down the line. I do think Miguel is gonna be the one to fight him in the end and it will be a drawn out and brutal one.
Miguel and Robby's actors carry their poorly written characters- like they say the most cringey dialogue ever. Kwon though is new and much more relatable and not cringey (like he feels like a real character).
Ngl, kwon automatically became one of my, if not, my favourite character in the show. His skill, his cocky personality and how good he is a s a fighter. He's a badass for sure.
While watching the new season I couldn’t help but feel as though I recognized Kwon’s actor. Once I saw the same Brandon Lee I realized that he’s the son of the Grandmaster who owned the dojang I trained at when I was young. I saw Brandon all the time and he and his brother would often help out with the younger age groups. When I had my tenth birthday party at the dojang he dressed up as Spiderman and ran around with me and my friends. I’m happy for him and the fact that I DIDNT immediately recognize him proves how great of an actor he is.
TLTR: Kwon is a terrifying force of Nature that is going to fuck shit up. LTR: Kwon has two other elements that make him stand out from the other younger fighters, more than his arrogance and his overconfidence. There is his nihilism, and his cruelty. This is a young man who doesn't see the point to anything, not even the teachings of the Kim Family. At first, it's why he never took the training, or the discipline, or event the group dynamics of his class seriously. He is always cracking jokes and making snide comments in the beginning, while showing how effortless and pointless the exercise is by completely ignoring the rules to get it done. He thinks he is beyond the rules. But then there is his cruelty. There is an absolutely mad spirit under that mischievousness. It had no direction before. No goal. No purpose. He didn't think that he would ever be taken seriously, and even Kim Da-Un didn't think much of him beyond him being a trouble-maker. And then, Kreese -- as he does -- unlocked both his potential and his worst traits. This is now a man who only wants power. And wants to use that power to cause as much pain and suffering as he can. He will identify the strengths and passions of his rivals, and he will find their vulnerabilities and hit them where they hurt the most. He will try to break them. And he will laugh the entire way. It's like seeing the malevolent genie that was Terry Silver get reawakened, only younger, faster, and stronger. A force of malice and pure chaos. And given a sense of power in that he himself, not rules or tradition, determine his fate. This is an enemy the kids have never faced before, on a whole other level, and I think he's going to draw a lot of blood before he is taken down.
I think it would be more realistic if the Miyagi-Do kids lose to this guy. I don't mean getting killed or die, it's a refereed tournament after all, but it would be really stupid to see the "good guys" beat this guy.
I said this in another thread: Kwon is in football terms like the 1980s Miami Hurricanes. Extremely cocky but can back every bit of it up. Like those Hurricanes teams it's not so much a competition for him but a show where he is the star and the other competitors are bit players. They are not contenders to him but total pretenders that he is sure he will expose.
@@ritchietodd409 I think if the Miyagi-Do kids lose, it could still be a satisfying way to end the show, and it would add some realism. Plus it would drive home what Mr. Miyagi told Daniel in the first movie, "win lose no matter, you make good fight, earn respect".
Kwon is what I’ve always wanted the fighters from Cobra Kai to be. Bad to the f-ing ass. Our fighters are still badass, but nowhere near Kwon. He is what we need, strong, fast, cocky, flashy. I have previously said that for the Season 4 tournament, and now the Sekai Tekai, that the name of this godly show is Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai is going to win. And now, with Kwon, I don’t think theres a very big shot for Miguel and Robby
Lmfao if you think they are ending the series with Miguel and Robbie losing to a guy with less than a season of screen time you don’t know how to write a story , I could see Robbie getting hurt by Kwon and Johnny and Daniel telling Miguel “no mercy” and then you get no mercy Miguel with season 6 levek skill
@@godusopp2752 just check out the skill of this guy they aint winning if you look at it on a skill perspective. this guy has been training his whole life
Kwon has one and only one weakness If he didn't get a point for so long in fight he will definitely do something wrong and regular defense is the only key to defeat him It is IMPOSSIBLE to defeat him with offense
I also feel like Kwon will either seriously hurt Dimitri or possibly even Hawk. If he does it to Dimitri then he's shown as this ruthless bully but if he takes out Hawk he comes off as ruthless and a serious threat. (Even though I really don't want Hawk taking another L) Or what if he attacks Miguel's back?
Hawk already took too many Ls......it's like the more popular Hawk character because the more the writers watered that character down specifically after he won the trophy
Kwon is taking the Miyagi verse by storm with his skills and ruthless approach to Karate, this guy might just be the ultimate bad boy as he's an upgraded blend of Johnny/Mike/ Chozen. I wouldn't be mad if Kwon won the Sekai Tai Kai or gets DQ'd instead of actually losing because I don't see any of the big 3 (Robby, Miguel, Hawk) beating him fair and square. I'm so happy to see Brandon H Lee becoming prominent like that, he can pull off dark characters as well as goofy ones, it's actually for the best that he made it into the series in the later parts of the season.
@@Cosqy_ Y'all edgelords need to chill tf out, the plot itself is not that serious to begin with which makes your comment sound not only corny but pointless. If you don't like the use of terms like "bad boy" (or adjectives added to it), you should probably watch something else because it's in the spirit of Karate Kid/CK series 🧐
@@Cosqy_ Nah mate It's not offending just a tad weird you're seemingly getting shocked over people's hype and taking the piss, which is just as corny in itself 😂 (Edgelord or edgy as in attitudes or behaviors, often linked to a desire to appear rebellious or provocative, but they differ in intensity and context ofc.) Edit: No hard feelings, english is not my first language so I admit I got a little intense 🙏🏾
I feel Kwon should fight Hawk. This is because Kwon exemplifies to Hawk what he could have been if he stayed at Cobra Kai. As we see in S2-3 in Cobra Kai, Hawk became cocky and rebellious and vicious to the point that he broke Brucks' teeth. As well as breaking Demetri's arm. And also the fact that Hawk was manipulated by Kreese at one point in time. So Hawk would understand all the dirty tricks that Kwon could play in the tournament. Also Hawk is S6 at the moment isn't as vicious of a character, compared to the other seasons. So it would be really awesome to see him tap into his darker side in the tournament.
I'm not sure I would call what Kreese did 'manipulating' this time. While that's true every other time, he was working with anger resulting from something. Tory=her mom and background, Johnny=a terrible home life. With Kwon, it's like all the Cobra Kai principles are innate. He thrives on going for the throat without mercy. All Kreese did was solidify and concentrate what was already there.
This dude gave the dudes from the 1984 Cobra Kai a run for their money. These Asian sector have probably been practicing marital arts since they were successfully able to walk
I hope nobody is expecting Miyagi-Do to win the Sakai Taikai, because none of the main characters learnt any new techniques. The only chance is that the other teams are weaker - although this tournament is supposed to be a global event -, or that Johnny or Danny boy secretly teach them a powerful technique during the tournament...
ngl my favorite thing about Kwon is he's lefty martial artist representation (he nearly always kicks with his left leg and strikes the throat left-handed, he uses both hands like a good fighter should, but he strikes me as a natural southpaw).
My theory is that he's gonna badly hurt Robbie, but get disqualified so someone will have to take his place, which will be Miguel. I don't know it kinda feels weird that Miguel had kinda become a background character considering him and Lawerance started the whole show 😄
It's like if Bakugo fought Shigaraki fought at the end, it be a little weird since Deku is the main character. That's how I always saw Miguel, as the main character next Lawerence
@How_SpXdez Well, he is the vegeta of the story. Miguel is the karate kid of this generation. That will be extremely stupid to give the final tournament victory to robby who is Miyagi Do instead of the Cobra Kai student when the shows whole purpose is about and is called Cobra Kai. Miyagi Do fighter won the last tournament with Hawk as it's champion and now it's a Cobra Kai fighter turn to win.
Who wins in this 1v3 fight? Kwon vs Robby, Hawk and Miguel Kwon can easily take on multiple students but Robby, Hawk and Miguel are three of Miyagi-Dos strongest students so who wins?
Against all 3 combined he would land some hits but they would quickly overwhelm him. Hawk alone would give him a tough fight but eventually kwon would win. As for miguel and robby they must be on a similar level as him so there would be a close fight and the winner would be decided by plot armor
i belive miguel or hawk or robby could beat him, if i had karate and im on the same level as this guy, i would Definitely want to kick his ass. i also want to see kyler park team up with miguel and hawk and robby against kwon, i want to predict that kyler and miguel and hawk and robby team up on kwon,
he's most dangerous because he's being trained to come at Karate and the tournament bent on violence, destruction, and as a vehicle for the expression of his rage. But Kreese is ironically setting himself and his young protege up for failure as he's approaching the tournament with the same mindset as he did in the first Karate Kid.
Maybe they will make an Obi-wan vs. Anakin fight with Robby and Kwon. Ultimate Offence (Kwon) vs. ultimate Defense (Robby) but for now he seems at least in the Top 3 best young fighters in the series!
I think Robby may have a chance at defeating Kwon. I say this because Robby's style emphasizes Miyagi-Do's defense, offense and others. And since Robby has trained under four sensei's (Johnny, Daniel, Chozen and now Mike Barnes), Robby should be much more skilled should he fight Kwon in part 2 or 3.
The fact that he even confronted and challenged Kreese on his motives was ballsy. No CobraKai student has ever confronted Kreese that way before. Johnny only reacted to Kreese when Kreese had a go at him for losing to Daniel and mocked him off the team. Leon went straight up to him. No fear, no bullshit.
I really enjoyed this video. This was easily the best analysis anyone can make for Kwon, in spite of the character having a brief showcase in part one of the final season.
Sweden is in the competition, I think this has to do with the fact that John G. Avildsen, has directed both the Rocky and Karate kid films, and that Dolph Lundgen is in Rocky 4, and he is also a former European champion in karate.
Ik hope not hawk is my top 3 favorite characters i love the guy the guy is good but kwon is a menace i dont want hawk to lose because kwon is gonna be ruthless
Kwon seems much more dangerous then anything we have seen they fought much harder and much more brutally ngl the team better lock him cause he gonna give them hell
Kwon’s ability, even before Kreese is head and shoulders above any of the Miyagi-Fang students, even Miguel. Daniel and Johnny will have to train them like never before.
The actor that plays Demetri said the Demetri character will die. The Demetri character never has fit in, and it would have been nice to just not see him show up in season 6. Giving the character a warrior's death seems to exaggerate the character's importance.
I could see a dark part 2 of cobra kai strikes back. Could have cobra kai win in spain and silver return to the valley and recruit shaun and kenny to wreak havoc on the miyagi do students left behind. Part 3 will be the redemption of miyagi do. They learned the viper attack gets through their defense. Their were scrolls of skills never unveiled back in season 2 or 3. They see these scrolls plus the ones in miyagis box to learn a counter defense . Then the battle of miyagi do, cobra kai america, and cobra kai japan. Kwon is better then barnes who would have beat daniel in his tournament without their dumb strategy. A tournament with no points but maybe a 3 minute time limit where they are judged after would be ideal. Kwon mangling robby would wake tory up to make her turn back.
I don't see anyone that is even close a fighter like Kwon in Miyagi Do. They really need to all sensais to work together if they want to teach them to beat him.
It's a great video, but what Kwon did wasn't the same move Michael Jai White did in Blood and Bone. Michael did a quadtriple kick, Kwon's kick is more like Donnie Yen's jump split kick and side kick in one jump move he performed in Tiger Cage 2 and Iron Monkey.
I see a lot of comments here saying Kwon will destroy the main characters and I do have to agree with them. I've given this a lot of thought and even though Kwon comes off as someone who doesn't follow instructions, he's very effective in his fighting style. What a lot of people in the verse sees in Kwon's attitude as rebelliousness, I think Kwon is actually innovative as given his fight against Yoon and his goons. It's unclear if Kwon spent most of his life training with students studying under the same style, which would make them seem very predictable for Kwon to counter, but mysterious to other fighting styles out there. But if Kwon did fight against those who use styles different to him, Kwon would have experience facing against different opponents, giving him that edge in experience. If there was a way for the students to beat Kwon, it would somehow have to be through Johnny. Johnny has been shown to be innovative with his fighting style, given how he countered Daniel's pressure points during season 4 despite never seeing the move, which is a huge feat since that's the move that nearly got Kreese killed. The only downside here is that Johnny has no idea of South Korea's Cobra Kai, which means Kwon still has the opportunity to dominate. That's just my thoughts on it.
Kwon will end up being chozens son whom chozens knowingly kept secret and played no role in Kwons upbringing which is where his anger and aggression comes from
In a way he reminds me of drago from the Rocky franchise. Driven, merciless, full of hate, and cunning. No doubt that he is going to severely cripple someone at the tournament
Do you think they will be any deaths in the fins two parts of the season? I believe and I hope there will be, possibly kreeses by daniels hand via the secret technique on the scroll seen in season four I believe. What do you think? Love the vids btw ❤
Would love to see Kwon and Daniel meet and Daniel become Kwon’s instructor at some point. If that ever happened. I feel like Daniel could be a good role model to Kwon if they met or interacted in Season 6 part 2 or 3. 🤞 Or Have Daniel teach Hawk more Miyagi moves or save Hawk from somebody (Hawk seeing Daniel using the drum technique, Daniel using the drum technique or the killing technique (‘Live or Die Man’ from Karate Kid 2) or something of that nature). 🤞
I like him. I think he is a great addition to the Karate Kid franchise which I love a lot. I find him a breeding between Chozen and Mike and much less similarities to Johnny. I think he will beat most if not all of the Miyagi-Do students. He is talented much more than Robby or Miguel in my opinion, ruthless, arrogant and I won't be surprised if he is also a racist. He has what you would expect from a villain. Even without interview, as a martial artist for 26 years I can tell when someone's skills are legit.
Only one question that I want to know.. Whose another 2 representative for new Cobra Kai besides Kwon, Tory & another two students? And I hope it's Kenny for a payback with Devon.
“After 5 seasons it’s obvious: The true and only Sensei for Miguel is Johnny. The true and only Sensei for Tory is Kreese. The true and only Sensei for Robby is Daniel. Yes Johnny is Robby dad not Daniel but Robby true Sensei is Daniel. Even Johnny sees it too, Johnny: “you had a good thing going with Larusso and I got in the way”. Even Samantha, even though Daniel is her dad Johnny is her Sensei too. She wants to train with both. And other things are clear now: 1. Samantha will never fight for Cobra Kai 2. Tory will never fight for Miyagi-do 3. Miguel will never fight with Daniel as his main Sensei 4. Robby will never fight with Johnny as his main Sensei Writers and creators of the show have made their choice and it is what it is. From a logical standpoint why don’t they allow Robby to finally fight one time with his dad in his corner? Sam always fights for her dad so why can’t Robby? They glue him to Miyagi do and if you ask me there’s a reason why. Reason: They most likely have the final scenario in their heads that exactly must be the case, Robby is 100% Miyagi do and Daniel is his Sensei otherwise this scenario won’t work. I have strong doubts of Robby ever joining Eagle fang as well simply because Johnny realized it’s just like Cobra Kai and it’s not his legacy but the legacy of the Kim clan.
In a group A wise man said "Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy A wiser man said "Man can't stand he can't fight; Man can't breathe he can't fight and a Man can't see he can't fight." But the wisest of all said "No head, No Fight."
