Bought the ST-X 220 Driver Last Summer in a 9.5 loft and Hzrdus Smoke S-shaft and have never driven the ball straigther and longer at 57 yrs. of age. This combined with the Mizuno JPX-921 irons purchased around the same time have really elevated my game.

bro, i got the ST190 (which is pretty much the same driver), and i just also got the runout Wilson D9 driver (stiff shaft , 9 degrees), and ill tell you .. the D9 with that Tensei Blue shaft is a steel at the runout prices ! (got teh D9 delivered for $200USD). i really did love the St190, but after the D9 consistency and increased distance, im torn about whether i keep the Mizzy. The D9 pretty much has the same PKR face as the new Dynapower drivers.

I have last year's model and I love it. I am a beginner with a 10.5 degree head and I have a issue with it launching to high. I often tee up low.

We seem to focus on Club X 2022 v 2023 version and see tiny differences yet the wrong shaft makes material differences. I had the STX with a Hazarduous shaft which I couldn’t hit; switched to Atmos and all great. More tests on one club with various shafts would interesting

Hit the ST-X with a LIN-Q shaft at the PGA Golf Show Demo day. Thought it and the Cobra Aerojet were the best two driver releases for 2023.

I'd venture to guess that the gloss is aimed at golfers in Ireland where a bit of reflected light would cheer up a round of golf pestered by intermittent rain (or snow or fog) . . .

Hope your going to test Wilson's two new DynaPWR driver's they seem to be testing well. Watch MyGolfSpy they're very impressed with these new 230 range.

I went to get fitted for the DynaPower driver, and ended up buying the runout Wilson D9 driver (stiff shaft, 9 degree). It was only 2 yards shorter in distance and the dispersion was the same !! very happy with the D9 ! Its pretty much the exact same face as the DynaPower, albeit with a slightly different shaft. also got it for $300AUD. I'd say grab the D9 whilst you can (if its cheap !!!). PS: I have a 104mph driver swing speed, and play off an 11hc.

Beautiful venue! I won't play drivers/fairways/hybrids with glossy heads - period. Nor will I play with light colored wedges. I had so much glare coming off the face of an approach wedge one day quite a few years ago that I could not see the ball.

Shame there's no numbers for this one but I quite like the look of it, I do prefer a matt finish also but I'm quite basic when it comes to looks I love the look of my 0211 and I think that's quite basic. Mizuno did shock me though I completely forgot about them when I went to try the g430 irons, I tried the stealth also but I ended up ordering jpx 923 pros, they felt the best went the furthest and I think they look great too, if I didn't have the 0211 this driver would tempt me I think

Good question, I am really happy with my current Stealth from last year so no need to change, if I was I would be torn between Ping G430, Stealth 2 and this could well sneak in

Key on a driver is the stock shaft options . If they work for you far more important than the club head.

Agreed. And unfortunately when you look at Mizuno’s website the stock offerings for this driver are sorely lacking. Even the one getting tested in this video isn’t available (older Fujikura Motore). You get the Hzrdus smoke green if you swing like the hulk and then Mitsu Kalai and Linq something. That’s it Mizuno? Very disappointing shaft options this year.

@@brianpetersen6128 To be fair the UK website says there are 23 shaft options , about 6 to 7 manufacturers. So that seems quite decent?

@@adrianlovett3483 I hope you’re right. I’m in the US but when I look at their website I only see the options I listed. We’ll see in the next week or two what options they have to demo at the stores. I’m a Hzrdus fan so would like to try the black or the red or even the silver that’s available on the Paradym this year.

this dude knows his sh*t. shaft is 70% the equation, head is 30%. i have a 2 year old mizuno driver, and just bought a new Wilson D9 runout model, and the D9 launches wayyy better cause of the Tensei Blue shaft, compared to the shaft on the Mizzy. The mizzy is a sweet driver, but only 4 times out of 10, due to its shaft (unless I really change my swing output to modify the launch angles). Tensei blue shaft on my new D9, effortless. im a 103mph swing speed, playing an 11hc.

Top driver brands will be Callaway, TM, Ping, Titleist. Cobra will be there or thereabouts. But the reality is Mizuno, Srixon, PXG and Cleveland all produce drivers that are worthy competitors to the big boys

I just bought the Wilson D9 (as runout) at $300AUD. I've never hit a more consistent and long driver before, and i currently own 3 other modern drivers.. a Callaway, Mizuno, Tour Edge.

Andy, the Mizuno drivers aren’t particularly cheap this year. £499 is RRP is same as Stealth2. Sure it’s cheaper than Callaway Paradym, but everything is cheaper than Paradym. For a real low cost option, can you test the new Wilson DYNAPWR? Only £349 for the Titanium and £399 for the Carbon version

Sorry but that isn’t correct, the Stealth 2 is £599 rrp and will probably sell at retail for £499, the Mizuno driver is £499 rrp and likely to sell at £399, there is a lot of confusion as manufacturers are quoting ‘rrp’ and this is a pointless figure as they are always discounted at retail

@@TheAverageGolfer sorry mate, I’m comparing RRP’s. Stealth 2 Plus is £529 RRP and Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 HD are £499 RRP. So Mizuno has gone up 100 quid this year, compared to last year, and is basically the same as the others (except Paradym). Would like you to review the Wilson DYNAPWR models, as they are much more affordable at £349 & £399. Thanks

@@cameronloveless1751 you are confusing rrp with retail price, the numbers you are quoting are not rrp they are the retail price, the rrp for stealth is £599 and then discounted ie the price you pay to £499

I have said this many times. I hate matte finished gold clubs. They look like they did not complete them at the factory. Back when you and I started, all woods were wood, and all have a gloss finish on them. All of the irons were shiny too and some of them were actually chrome plated. I like polished shiny irons and gloss finished woods. The others are ugly to me. We have all used them in the sun and had no problems. Maybe the problem is not the finish, but that the driver are twice the size they should be.
