I believe he will help turn this defense around and they will be way better than last year. Not saying they will be instantly top 10, but hell even top 60 would be a MAJOR improvement from last year when they were fluctiating between 128-130 out of 130 teams against the run for the first 7 games, and finished 120th.
I like him more than I like what Wilks was saying at this point last year. I think he knows the college game better and will have our guys better positioned than last year.
You thought Wilks was bad? He was demoted by Diaz from D.C. duties after North Carolina torched his defense for almost 800 yds. He skipped town for LB coach at LSU before coming here. I hope it won't be as bad as I think it will.
@@joem2745 That was one game. The games before that and the bowl game after that they didn't give up anywhere near that. So I consider that a one off where the defense just played terrible and probably gave up. It wasn't happening weekly. Mizzou consistently gave up near 300 yards every game last year for 7 straight. And Mizzou giving up almost 500 yards rushing to a pass first Tennessee team is as bad as I've ever seen, even including Miami giving up close to 800 vs North Carolina
