Exellent opening match between MJF and Rush. I'm glad he's back, but it certainly feels like Tony Khan just threw MJF in a match for Forbidden Door just because it's Long Island with no story. MJF definitely deserves better.

I don’t get what people are even saying when they talk like this. What is it about a random cold match that has you expecting it to be so good? What can you even do with a cold match? Yes, they will participate in assisting each other perform flips and dives and other cute little tricks. MJF will try desperately to do some character work and draw people in….but for the most part it’s gonna be a flippy lucha guy that has no idea how to wrestle a match that makes sense, against a guy who’s just trying to get through the meaningless match without getting hurt. It’s gonna stink.

MJF’s first match back really should have been built up until the PPV. This guy NEEDS to be a special attraction for AEW. Please don’t make him another one of the bunch… Plus, another 2 weeks of build-up also would have made RUSH come off like a bigger star as a result. Everyone knew Rush was taking the L anyway, but at least give him a couple more weeks of spotlight. Why run right over to this lame 2 week program against Hechicero and the jobbers from the Embassy that no one takes seriously?? Tony Khan continues to blow his load far too soon, while continuing to focus way too much time and attention into the bad comedy antics of the Dumb Bucks and extremely unconvincing “elite”.

I am not gonna lie, Rush looks stiff as hell. I assume people like working with him... I guess he is one of those mechanics that can make it look like he is killing ya, but not actually injure anybody...
