This is not about language but about our country. This is disgraceful how these leaders are acting. This is like a bunch of school students. It's time for people to grow up. Your comment is of a similar kind. Using language barriers is not going to solve our country's problem just stroking ego's
@luckymyomo2531 Exactly my point!! Have you ever worked in any professional environment where there is not a language that all members understand , that is spoken any exco meeting ? Or do you try to sell to investors in just any language or your home language or do you use a language that is understood by all to get to the needed outcome. Won't get you very far, just like this won't get SA very far either. What language are you and I conversing in right now. One that is understood by us both. Won't be a discussion if we didn't.
It doesn't matter how the Parliament is formulated those people are earning a salary from the taxpayers and their busy joking around, they should be ashamed of themselves
@@1015mytube The clown here is the speaker who only speaks colonial languages in an African parliament, DA seems to have lots of illiterates their ranks
Xhosa was spoken there too , its a second largest after Zulu , I think Peddie too not just Zulu . We need Nguni teachers how about that? that's not a Zulu parliament , South African parliament .
Lol... I head a Zulu speaker from MK and a Zulu speaker from EFF, I did not at all heard the Xhosa speaker, apart from the Tsonga as well who was the last person. Your argument sounds like it carries tribalism on it own. The retaliation of Zulu raised the alarm. You should have said, "we will just need a Nguni interpretors" and save us from your first and second languages. It was not needed.
The misconception that articulation in English show intelligence is a fallacy…. South Africa has 11 official languages… so people are not attempting to confuse anything … they are articulating themselves in their language…. She might need grab Primsleur language course to qualify for the job she has occupied ….
We are facing serious problems as a country that needs to be raised and solved by these members of parliamentarians but they are busy playing mind games with each other,Eff has been in parliament for almost 10 years now. They should have realised what we ,the people on the grassroots are having problems but instead they are busy ma,ing unnecessary point of orders.Change your strategy and bring the people's problems and solutions!

This is a clownish behaviour which maybe interesting to you not to me unfortunately. This seems to be our culture of disrupting anything.
The best constitution in the world allows it, it must not be changed as it allows us to use our native languages. Hypocrites today they have forgotten about the so called 'best constitution' when it suits them. 😂😂
Nothing wrong with speaking our languages. Everything wrong when it's only used as a tool to frustrate a parliamentary debate. That's effectively disrespecting your own language because in the ordinary course of business they never speak it.
Yesterday you were laughing Majodina when she was unable to pronounce an English word today you criticize black people for speaking their languages, some black SA people are used to always pleasing white people all the time it's not the first time those women from EFF complaining about this language thing why the whole parliament cant cater for all languages 30 years there's no interpreter in African parliament that's a shame Groenewald speak Afrikaans anytime he likes no one complain now it's black people speaking their language there's a lot of commotion it's high time to change and respect African languages that's what 1976 Soweto uprising was all about youth fighting against forcing them to do every subjects in Afrikaans at school ,instead of getting interpreters they expand the cabinet to accomodate their comrades many elders want to hear what is said in parliament but because of this English speaking they end up ignoring it let who ever want to speak his/her language do it freely

They just merged those colours together to come up with so called Fake Rainbow Nation, and pple never even checked the meaning of the colours..( it meant they are still here ( Dutch) working behind the scenes). So pple must not think this GNU is a new thing..its been like this ever since. Making sure pple are sleeping, they even awarded De klerk a Nobel prize, for what? It was for negotiating with the ANC to keep calm and rule without a contract, only verbally. Time management must be set, hence translating words is another worst of time parliament has to be set by a person who knows languages not only 1 or 2 but atleast half of languages spoken in country
I like the imposition of Afrikan languages, we may finally be able to engage more genuinely in politics. I thank MK and the Fighters, they may just fast track the development of our languages 😂
The use of African languages to disempower the speaker - when the other parties sit there laughing. What does the rest of the world see? That gogo in the EFF with the big jaw looks like a hobo.
As a black South African I think this is good for us to speak with our home languages English is not our language is not an African language so white people must learn our languages also as black people we are tired as black people to bite our tongues trying to speak English which is not our language white people must put effort to learn African languages South Africa is a black country after all
English is internationally accepted. therfore everyone can understand. Chinese people teach their children english to fit into the larger world. but maybe African people feel the world should fit into their little tribe. so backward
Don't get me wrong I am not a racist but I think white South African are very ignorant about learning African languages that are in South Africa they call them white South Africans but they cannot speak native African languages they only know how to communicate in Afrikaans n English in parliament of South Africa black people must speak in their languages and white people must put effort in learning other languages and stop being comfortable or else they will have a communication barrier just like that woman who cannot hear even a single word of Zulu or other native African language

All languages are equal, there should there be translators. It is recognized some speakers will not be able to express themselves in either English or Afrikaans. Happy that all translators will be afforded opportunities to work very hard Hopefully this is not bordered on attitude due to ascendancy. And failure to garner any influential committee position.
@@givenmahlaba8722 I understand you are a learned friend, it was not about debating about African languages here( i was actually responding on primary languages mostly spoken/ used in parliament and in a state of discourse. Unfortunately your government never officially made it the 12th language in SA, and i am not the person you can argue about that reason. Ask the DANC Party why?

Multiple languages should be accommodated indeed, but respect is also important. Especially respect for the person speaking and respect for the speaker. The earpieces providing translations is an absolute MUST, especially for the chairperson but actually for everyone attending. It's impractical to expect everyone to speak all 11 languages, after all! Does a Sotho speaker understand Xhosa? Does a Xhosa speaker understand Venda? Does an English speaker understand Ndabele? What child has grown up learning (or for that matter, what adult today) and understands every language recognised in parliament? Kids aren't taught them all in school even now (a subject for another discussion!) BUT: The way everyone just keeps jabbering away while someone is trying to speak at the podium is just rude and shows a poor character and disrespect.
