Hi Tony, been seeing your channel on RU-vid for a while now and seeing as you are knowledgeable about VAG cars, what would you reckon I would need to swap a 1.8t agu (also from a mk4) into a mk4 1.4 golf? Will the engine mount holes line up with the holes on my standard 1.4 chassis?
Hi mate did you subscribe at least? Lol. Have you seen my green mk4? It’s tatted as a 1.4 and then ended up 1.8t. It’s dead simple mate mechanically it’s all the same just straight swap. You will need to change the gear shifter too. But apart from that is really easy.
@@tonybig78to be honest I am on my college google account right now lol so wasn’t subbed up until now, was subbed on my main account but lost access to it. And fair play to that golf is it the r32 rep one? I will be doing the swap soon just needed a bit of clarity on how I should go about doing it seeing as not many have done it on forums and stuff. The 75hp lump in my 03 golf 4 it’s on its way out now at 156k miles; severe knock, low compression and a P0304 error code for a misfire on cyl 4. It’s 75 hp as it is and rather just swap it out for a 1.8t seeing as you can find engine + box + loom + slam panel + front legs all for around 500 quid.
@@tonybig78I do know that my current engine is fly by wire and the AGU engine I’m looking at swapping into it is drive by cable could you tell me how to work around that perhaps? I’ve been told on Facebook that the whole swap shouldn’t take more than a days worth of work which is fantastic seeing as your not the only person who has mentioned it being an easy job. Cheers pal
@@Yasin-pl7pi ye couple days of work max it’s all plug and play if you get the AUM engine and ecu. I wouldn’t bother converting it to throttle cable with you already have drive by wire. Plus agu has a rubbish ecu to tune and a k03 turbo instead of k03s which is a lot better.
