Max is right about the Soulcalibur V customization. VI improves the system in some ways, but V still has way more items. As for characters, there was only one DLC fighter in V, that being Dampierre. --Your local Soulcalibur nerd
To help with RU-vid algorithms, they should impliment "cooking" mode. Every time a fatality is triggered, it cuts to footage of Cooking With Scorpion. Maybe he's making fruit salad or stirring pasta or smashing some bananas for pudding.
That's a great idea. They could also maybe have friendships as an alternative streamer friendly finisher. I don't know how people would feel about that, but I think that'd be a good way to circumvent the demonization issues.

Dude, how tf has it been long enough for 50 episodes? Been here since Ep 1, and not even sure how many times I've rewatched every one of them. Mostly listening to these at work in my lab or while in my kitchen at home. Also - when Smash? Give us your thoughts on each game in the Smash Bros. series 🙏
Multi versus did have a battle pass and locked cool ko effects and taunts in the paid pass that would otherwise cost like $12 to $15. Also they did not offer a return in funds like in most other passes. So the fact that sf6 already is giving you funds back is cool. Also this summer pass didnt seem to require much grind as well, I didnt even have to think about it and almost done with it.

Good news with Goentiz he's a lot harder than Rugal, not SNK Boss syndrome level but a lot better. I'm loving that player expression is their main focus with combos having the new beat of air combo variation alongside how Kameos can work with it. Plus potentially how Kamoes work in pressure with that Sub-Zero Sonya example you mentioned. Only concerns is how reserved they are with movement and general speed from making dashes bad relying on walking and forward throws being too long. Still though extremely hyped to get hands on it.
Would I buy a Skull Girls or BlazBlue or DBZ game if they had a different roster? No, because they're Skull Girls and BlazBlue and DBZ. @@zubrhero5270 think Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite is biggest example how a super shitty roster can wreck a decent game. It's not just gameplay, the visual spectacle aspect of any game is still very important, otherwise characters could be just lifeless wireframes models

Dude this is crazy, so when I first saw SF6 footage I made a comment on how Capcom should borrow from the interaction background stage mechanic and alter it so that it's characters in the background become an assist attack in the same manner. Having Damned assistant in the alley or designing a Cammy stage with the Omega Red team to do the same etc. Well apparently NRS was already thinking ahead and just all out including this feature but better as Kameos! I will forever be a SF over MK but NRS seriously does the more interesting things I want to see happen!
Not sure if anyone has brought this up but Granblue Fantasy Versus had a battle pass for about 2 seasons with lobby characters, titles,skins and weapon skins in it. It didn't catch many eyes so it didn't last. But I believe that was the first main fighting game with a battle pass if I'm not mistaken.
Kameos feel like BBTag assists. I'm a big fan of BBTag and Mk in general so I'm pretty hyped. Side note Tekken8 heat system reminds me of Soul Calibur 6 Soul Charge.
The intro music is freaking fire. If SF6 had this kind of music, it would easily be the greatest fighting game to date. As it stands, it's still up for debate.
I enjoyed this episode but the dashing conversation was kind of weird? As long as you can cancel out of it, dashing has some use outside of movement in neutral. "Just remove the dash if walking is better" isn't a great sentiment. Dash cancelling into normals is super important in mk11 combos, and if this game's neutral/pace is like 11's as you guys say, then dashing still has a place. I don't disagree with wanting dash to be "better" for situations outside combos and such. More movement options are definitely welcome.
Regarding the gore filters on RU-vid, did the method of doing Fatalities on D’Vorah in MK11 actually work since she has blue blood? If so, I wonder if there will be a character in this game who will have different colored blood to help get around YT restrictions?
I'm almost convinced that MK1 didn't start development as an MK game. The kameo system plus the rather colourful graphics makes it seem like it started out as Injustice 3 or that rumoured Marvel vs DC game but WB's money troubles meant MK was a safer bet.
noob is definitely not coming in the main roster because he (the person) is still sub zero in this universe, right, so probably a kameo or dlc for him since he's popular. there's always a Chance they make a different version of that character where he has nothing to do with his previous backstory
I hated how much of a jobber they made him in MK11. I get that he's the kind of character who is going have jobber tendencies but it felt like every intro in MK11 had everyone making a punch line out of the spooky self-serious ninja. I just wish Noob Saibot was cool and sinister and dangerousagain instead of a cringey punching bag for quippy superheroes
I remember I bought soul calibur 1 on Xbox 360 years ago and when I tried to play it, even tho you payed for it, you still can’t jump in and play it. It’s just sad because soul calibur was what started my fighting game journey and I can never play it again.
I would be fine if they put colors or something on the battle passes just as long as they dont lock actual skins on it since battle pass skins never get sold outside of them usually

Granblue had a battle pass. And theres stuff in them that arent possible to get anymore. Certain colors and weapons will never come back and that sucks.

Same but not because SF6 is good, but because MK1 just hasn't sold me yet for various reasons. I think I'll only be able to come to a proper conclusion once the game has had a proper beta.
Battle Passes suck, especially time limited content. Compare Tekken 7's PS4 Jukebox to what's inevitably going to happen in this game. Not even a soundtrack per Battle Pass. They're gonna milk those individual tracks for years to come. Drip feed content and create FOMO for its users. In theory getting ROM for a classic Capcom game for $5 is a decent enough deal I guess but it's still tied to this shitty system designed to give you a part-time job where you pay in. And then if they put in content worth getting it even makes it more shitty, somehow. I know lots of young players like this stuff - or have been trained to expect this stuff over the years - but I'd rather more expensive Single Purchases. A problem is that Battle Passes also take up a huge amount of dev time. I'm pretty sure Valve very recently decided to drop their Battle Passes for partly this reason - and the % of buyers is actually very small. Or if Battle Passes are a must make them permanent like Halo Infinite at the very least. I know this Battle Pass is relatively easy to finish (I've done it by simply playing the game) and you get those Fighter Coins back (so you're sort of "bought into" the economy). I guess if you planned to use Fighter coins to unlock, say, a Colour or a Future Costume down the line available with FC this Battle Pass might technically be a way to get "free" content on top of your 250FC purchase (unless you pick a tier skip) - as in you buy the 250FC Pass, unlock all the content & the 250 Coin reimbursement, then use those 250 coins to buy whatever you had planned to buy with them in the first place. But typing all that out makes me feel nauseous. Maybe I'm just old. Fun game, though!
Something "off" about this new MK game. The art direction is strange. Characters and stages don't have the MK feel to it. Has a strange overall feel to the game. Not excited at all. I'm willing to be proven wrong once I see the final product though
