Well done, the finishing touches are satisfying, especially the more visual ones. The car has shaped up really well, let’s not forget how old these are, many fond memories of these, thanks!

Hi mate Thanks for the mesage and support ! Yes the finishing touches always seem to take the longest too ! This car has been around so long now, i have so many memories of holidays in it as a boy, superb, glad you like it ! 👍👍👍👍

Glad that you gave the Cavalier some love! Needs a good, long drive as well as repairing the carburetor.

Hello mate, I enjoyed this one, shame about the engine not running 100% at least it’s an easy fix (hopefully) will look forward to the carburettor rebuild, I’m still running the old Varajet 2 on mine, not absolutely 100% but runs well with good power which is the main thing plus it was tunes by me so there’s that 🙈 at least all the numbers was excellent on the last MOT so can’t be out that much 😁 see you in the next one.

Hi mate glad you liked the vid ! Yes as you say, it passed the last mot fine so hopefully its just something like a split diaphram etc, fingers crossed ! All the best MEC 👍👍👍

Nice to see an old Vauxhall getting some love. Have a bunch of them or rather Opels as they are called here in Sweden. One of them is a mk1 astra with only 23000 miles on the clock that looks almost new

@@mec-tec only downside is that I don't really want to drive it and put miles on it. But I take it out a few times every year so the spiders get to see the surroundings 😄

This takes me back to my first car - D953 HMU, an SRi 1.8 in Indesit white with 3 matching mk.3 Cav. wheeltrims. I loved that car. Are they the rare CDi doorcards that you've fitted? This car is an absolute credit to you, and has brought many memories flooding back.... keep up the (very) good work 🙂

Hi mate Thanks for the message ! The SRI sounds awesome, the door cards in mine are standard L spec, I believe the CDI ones had electric windows, thanks for the lovely comments, im really pleased you like it 👍👍👍👍👍

@@mec-tec You're right, I recognised the trim from other Vauxhalls of the era. I'm so glad that you resisted temptation to "upgrade" your car - it's perfect as it is. I'd even delete the red stripes! Seriously though - this car is a real credit to you - thanks for taking the time to film, edit and upload your work. A+

I do like to do certain bits to cars but for some reason ive resisted with this one lol, i did try to de red it as it had vinyl pinstripe stuck over the chrome when it was new but one of the mouldings is actually a red sri one so until i find another chrome one i gota leave it on to match 🙈

@@mec-tec Needs must - it's not like there are dozens of Mk.2 Cavs piled up in scrapyards these days! this car has brought back so many memories for me. I'll be watching the carb rebuild when the Mrs. goes to sleep :-)
