WARNING Don't watch this video in a packed quiet canteen at work on night-shift. The amount of times I burst out laughing made me look really special..... Great comedy boys, fuck the video 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣
Interested to see this working. I'm in Canada, so we never got the 5 cylinder RS. But if a kit happens, it gets me thinking to buy a Volvo 5 Cylinder from a scrapyard and build that instead of the 4 cylinder :)
Same, I bought my '18 RS largely because I have been dreaming over a picture of the Green MK2 RS when it first came out that we never got here. Assuming the price isn't insane for this kit, I would definitely drop $$ to do a swap. 5cyl>4cyl
Just wanna say I rang you guys yesterday with a few questions about my newly bought st (looking into revo stage 2 ) I think I spoke with Ben? Customer service like no other lads . I'll be booking in as soon as my intercooler lands 👌👌👌
Being a mk2 owner and being put off purchasing a mk3 because of the high amounts of engine failures it's going to be really interesting to see how it works out,
Looking good, id rip the crappy gkn diff out and stick a volvo traditional haldex diff in with an lsd, youll be able to get more grip plus it removes the drift mode gimmick which then means youll have the correct 2.56 final drive ratio instead of the mk3 rs ones 2.53 so you can run more power without breaking everything :D
Good work getting the Volvo box in. I appreciate that you're keeping your cards close to your chest but does the Mk3 box and Volvo box share the same propshaft ratio? I seem to recall something about the GKN setup being driven at a higher speed. It's going to be a mammoth task to get it working but I can imagine just how popular it's going to be once you can bring it to market. S40/V50 AWDs are going to be worth a pretty penny in parts soon! (does the Kuga use the same box?)
The factory MK3 rear diff is over driven, which is how they got it to do the drift mode party trick....i forget the exact % but its floaiting out on the internet somewhere
@@slaytalera Yeah but is it overdriven at the diff end or the box end, that’s what I was wondering. I’d guess it’d make sense for the diff to be a higher ratio but I’m sure BD have the real answer.
Nice guys, REALLY looking forward to how his build pans out, should be awesome with sitech and syvecs on the case as-well that will be good content seeing those guys do there bit too if possible even a redacted version 🤫😂😂, great vid and good luck 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice to see you lads cracking on with the car daz promised he would give me as a wedding present. Cheers lads 😄, top quality and funny as always. Looking forward to the next one.
I was waiting for Ben to say the F word at the beginning when describing the engine 😂 The merry Christmas to Simon was that hinting to when this will be done 😂 Cool project and I bet every other tuner is either racing to get a similar project done or watching to see how easy it is. I won't even offer any advice as I haven't a scooby
We are still working on this in the very little time we have outside of looking after customer vehicles. We have to make this happen now as we have huge amounts invested in the project 🙏
Any updates on this build? I’ve been researching the idea of doing this for a while and I’m guessing the engine and box drop straight in without modified mounts?
Hey guys great video my question is are you guys making a swap kit for the mk3 rs/st and can you make a better in-depth video on engine swapping i really would like to try this swap
Would would be nice if the mk2 rs drive train would swop over or a different drive train like a kuga I no people that have used the kuga drive train in mondeos mk4 and focus mk2
Afternoon Guys i have a Q so i have the dreaded focus RS Mk3 and iam on my 3rd Engine well soon awaiting fords to fit. So far both other engines have failed for Scoring on the Piston Bores on the inspection. Any ideas what could cause this Error state? they just rip out and place a new 1 in with no explaining. Not modified and run on both E10 and E5
Haldex‽ at the rear? What? Probably not worth a 5 cyl 2.5 if you're changing then AWD system to Haldex. I suppose you simply misspoke, but it was a jarring as if you had said S-AWC. Excited to hear more about this development path. Thanks for the content.
You know when you’re on a slipper slope of just talking: you make descriptive mistakes... And Darren makes his fare share for sure 🤦♂️ But ultimately you lot get the drift so it’s all ok 👍
Tech talk it’s fxxked lol 🤔🤣 makes me wonder why Ford went to 2.3 instead of keeping previous engine or better cc so in essence the mk3 will be built the way Ford should of done it in first place 😎👍🏻
Because Ford is no longer the owner of Volvo, and because of this reason, the 5 cylinders stopped coming out in their cars. And Volvo also stopped producing the 5 cylinders because of downsizing and pollution norms.
Frustrating video to watch and listen to guys. I clocked off before the end. Good luck with the project. I will check back in when it is up and running on the road. 😉
Makes this even more amazing that you took the time to write the comment. We can only thank you for that 🙏 What frustrated you about the video in particular? The length, the camera angles or the content? Just interested the gauge - but it’s hard to please everyone with every video. Thanks again for taking the time to comment regardless; that’s huge respect sir 💙
@@BDPerformanceWrexham The 8 minutes that i watched, there were nothing in the video that told me anything about the update so far. Just a load of waffling about the old 2.3 engine that went bang! By this time i was bored and switch off as there were no update mentioned in the first 8 minutes of waffling. Maybe i will watch the other 8 minutes at some point and hopefully that might bring me upto speed on this project. 😉 I know it is all light hearted banter, but i was hoping not to waste 8 minutes listening to waffle.
