A video that came with my car that I couldn't find uploaded anywhere so here it is. First 40 seconds have some tape noise on the audio, after that it's clean.
I just hope that the MK3 Supras will eventually be as appreciated as the MK4. Especially because I think that the MK3 looks a lot prettier with it low-slung fastback design and pop-up headlights..
Dude, these things were WAY more popular than the MK4. They sold a magnitude more of them. Sadly they generally aren't as well kept and finding nice ones is a rare thing. My 88 is by far the nicest car I've ever owned and you may as well be driving a supercar around with how much attention it gets. It's just that cool.
I find it super interesting it's CLEARLY being sold as a "sports" car here, maybe it always was? But I know it's really a purpose built GT car even though it was very impressive for the time. I never pretend I own a sports car when I drive it, but she's more of a joy to drive than any other car I have before. The luxury and looks are REAL with this baby, you can't do better and the name alone is enough to command respect.
I bought my second Mk III used in July. (Sold the first one several years ago.) I am picking it tomorrow from the shop that finished the restoration. Can't wait.
@@manny3738 My exterior was done prior to my buying it by Toyota of Tupelo, MS. I don’t want to know what it cost. The previous owner was a manager there. The engine work was done by a relative who owns a garage. I don’t think he wants to deal with another one. Mine was a pita.
Great historical Video Presentation of the MK3 and its a gem for sure. MK3 is better suited to deliver Ferrari killing performance even today!!! Truly legendary
@@rushnerd Blew head gasket on the autobahn on the way back to my country actually, which lead to overheating and rip. Now I drive a Supra GA70 imported from Japan. Dailied for one year so far. The 1G is a much much more reliable engine. No need to open up and rework to make it "reliable" unlike 7M. 7M is trash as far as I'm concerned. Failed experiment loaded on to the consumer. If you're gonna get a Supra mk3 make sure to import from Japan. You get 1JZ and 1G engines stock.
@@KoopaXross Damn, I kinda figured. But was the headgasket issue on yours fixed BEFORE you bought it? Also interested on it's mileage. I only bought my 88' because it was and the valves were replaced. I figure she should be good to go for an NA for a long time at 117K miles.
I'm in Oregon, but mine doesn't have any rust on it at all. Hell my 01' Celica GT-S wasn't rusted, but all the bolts were WAY more seized than my 88. She's held up better than most cars.
It's a marketing VHS that it seems ended up getting given away to the original owner of my car. It had an official case with the graphic at the start of the video on it. Unless someone finds another copy of it, this is as clean as you're getting it unfortunately.
