Could this work for possible swapping instrument clusters? I know how to get the right milage off my old cluster and transfer it to the new cluster but can't figure out how to get the IMMO from the new/used cluster to be accepted by the Ecm. Thanks for the video.
Regards from the west coast, Langley, BC specifically. I know it's a year since you did this but... Can this be done with a 1.8T gas car? I swapped the Auto trans out of a 2001beetle, put in the 5speed from a 2000 1.8t beetle. All went well with all the wiring and such but with the original Automatic ECU still in it it has a slight rpm "flare" . I put in the ECU from the 2000 5-speed and did the immo adaptation 2 you suggest here, but did not work. I have heard that it can be done on a TDI but not gas. Any options that you can think of? (I have vcds but no dealer special code key) Thanks!
He was just showing you how to do it and i can confirm it works on immo 2 as i had to do it years ago on a mk4 golf 110 tdi (AHF) that suffers with hot starts due to a mapping issue from the factory..
