MK7 Tyrolsport Solid Shifter Cable Bracket Bushing (DIY) Install 

You can do this without taking the bracket out or disconnecting the two shifter linkages. Just did this with the bracket in the engine and slide everything out and installed the new parts. Torqued it to 20Nm. 25Nm as specified elsewhere seems a bit high for the bolts.

The video is appreciated. Only wish the last part had precise guidance on how to properly rig the end links to the shift cables. This is arguably the most critical part of the job, requires percision, is nuanced, and not as simple as the video implies.

When installing the bushing onto the OEM plastic bracket and mounting to car, do you have to torque down to a specific spec?

What is the bennefit of doing this? Better feel? More accurate shifts?

Would the metal bushings in combination with the OEM plastic bracket even be worth it? Wouldn't the plastic bracket just flex?

After removing the Shift Cable ends wouldn't you need to put both the transmission and gear lever in home position before releasing the spring tension on the cable ends to achieve proper shifter adjustment?

Hey guys I have a question regarding rubber shifter ink bushings for a 2015 VW Passat 1.8 Tsi with the09G automatic transmission.the replacement rubber bushings that are available online for purchase are not very long lasting at all and was wondering if you guys know of a more durable steel or aluminum replacement I can buy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hey, i got solid shift linkage bushings, i got the one on that rotates the selector but the on that lifts and lowers the selector i cant slide it over as the little shark fin that helps keep in on makes it too big and sliding metal over plastic doesnt really work that great.
