Nice video. I've got a 08 gti. My car was having issues getting into 1st. Now since getting it back from the shop I can't get it in reverse. They said they didn't try to adjust it but I think they may have tried to adjust it without pinning it. I will have a closer inspection of these enable end mounts. Also I was going going try a new 1st gear getting as in my 08 I can see what lokks to be a old bushing work away like a goo lol. But there is still the factory white nub there in my shifter.
I'm doing this to my son's MK6 with the Audi/VW OEM SSK. During the aligned, how did you "lock" the shifter at the linkage points? I see what you did with the drill bit in the interior.
Could be the cable alignment or other things are worn out that you have now found. I have not made a video on it but a company called diesel geek makes a part called the first gear getter. It most likely things are out of alignment a little bit. I had the same on my Jetta and just had to mess with the cables till the gears fit.
@@ajetauto5592 Thanks for the quick reply. I kept tweaking with the cables and i eventually got it. it goes in every gear just fine, but now there is a clicking sound when i shake it in neutral and it’s driving me crazy

@@nickjames2612 not on the box of the parts if that’s what you mean. I’m assuming you meant the pin that goes to the gear shift lever. You can just use a small screwdriver or a nail. If that’s what you mean. If not please elaborate.
Both my GTI’s are FSI. The tsi only came on the mk5 in the 2009 model year. When looking online just make sure the parts say it fits your car cause there are so many different kinds for the years with the bushings. Like on FCP euro and torque solutions. I had to find the ones made for my Model year Ie. 2007 and 2008.
