Our friend Tim has been an awesome local customer of ours since he picked up his MK8 GTI. He decided to be even more awesome and let us borrow his car to make this video comparing the AWE Tuning Track and Touring Exhaust for the MK8 GTI. In this video, you'll get exterior and interior comparisons of both the AWE exhaust as well as the stock GTI exhaust, as well as a short install video! Hopefully this video helps those of you who may be on the fence about which exhaust to go with!

Track sounds deeper and louder. Similar to my muffler and resonator delete on my 1.8 A3. Then installed a 14 inch proformance resonator. I started with the muffler delete but sound didn't change much.

Muffler delete cars never sound good. They sound cheap. This is the complete opposite of that sound.

Should be the same for all, the GTI does not have exhaust valves like the Golf R does!

Why does it sound like touring was louder than track 😅 I’m having a hard time tryna find things to put in my MK8 cuz these RU-vid videos only make me more indecisive 🤦🏽‍♂️ I’m about to just muffler & resonator delete with a 3in pipe instead of the 1&1/2 inch stock pipes cuz paying all that money for an exhaust that barely makes a difference in sound is crazy

It does seem like that on camera, but it is a good bit quieter. The sound isn’t quite as deep as track and has less of a droning sound to it. Touring inside the car is mainly just engine noise, and it gives a much “cleaner” exhaust note when you hear it from outside. The track is not a super loud setup, definitely a quite a bit louder than stock and touring though. Hope this helps!

How does the sound differ on a cold start between stock and touring? I don't want to add a lot of volume and or resonance on cold start. I installed a corksport axle back exhaust on my Mazda 6 i had previously and that system replaced the muffler with resonators. Sounded good when driving with no drone, but drove me crazy with how much resonance it had on startup. It would make the garage feel like it was vibrating and was noticeable in the house too, so it woke people up since I go to work early.

Most are loud on startup to be honest, but the Touring would be what you would want if you were trying to ensure the quietest cold starting.

That was a customer car, but i don't think it had one at the time of filming this video.

Any drone on either exhaust ?? I see it’s a muffler delete with a smaller resonator.

Depends on your idea of drone, but the track will generally have some drone as would any nearly straight pipe exhaust system for our cars!

One of my few complaints about the car, stock exhaust drone at highway speeds... Looking forward to a exhaust upgrade souly to eliminate the droning.

You do NOT need a tune at all for this exhaust or any other catback! Take a look at Milltek on our site as well (on sale right now!) Either way we got you!

Well, one is valved and one isnt... so really it should depend on whether you want to keep the valves. But I would say that you wont be disappointed either way in sound!

@@julianortega8817 Milltek's exhaust is valved, AWEs is not, both are similarly loud though (when valves are open on the Milltek).

Do you have the cobb titanium? I can't find much info about it or clips of people who have it. I just want to know if it retains the burbles that the stock exhaust makes in sport mode
