Precisely point I was making to some I was debating with, MKP has its solid base in KZN but now it’s high time that they need to start expanding to other provinces. On another point I was a bit apprehensive on the contingent they were bringing to Parliament until my anxieties were somewhat reduced by the introduction of Judge Hlope although by no means is he a silver bullet as many of the other remaining 57 member team will be seating on select parliamentary committees where they will need to make a positive showing. I also wish that Andile Mgxitama be part of MKP’s parliamentary caucus or at a minimum be appointed as MKPs Eastern Cape Organiser. My other wishes was that MKP leadership consider (after the the prescribed 1 year of no change to the gazette party representative list) MKP negotiates with leaders of those political parties (SARA, Arise South Africa, etc) who are part of litigation case against IEC to joining the MKP as their members of parliament as they possess an incredible amount of young educated talent 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿. This will also assist in consolidating the agenda of the progressive caucus.
I fully agree with you Mighti on recommendations on what MKP should improve to do better moving forward eg. They overestimated their popularity and underestimated the work they needed to do to win the by-election at Umzumbe Local Municipality. They need to start planning now for 2026 local government elections by identifying talent and recruiting credible experienced individuals to make a positive showing in those councils.

MKP needs a more mature approach to be an effective main opposition now that the DA has joined ANC. I hope they don't follow suit and be a disruptive party like the EFF. Its their chance now to outshine the EFF who waisted there chance for 10 years.

Municipal By-elections 19 June 2024 in Kwazulu-Natal and the Western Cape, ANC retained 3 seats IFP won 5 seats 👍and retained 2 seats DA won 4 seats👍and retained 3 MKP won 1 seat. Excellent appointment, the MKP is better off with Dr. Hlophe. The MKP though might not even be the opposition party because the DA's demands are simply impossible to accede to unless the ANC is willing to hand over 100% power to the DA. Relax about your prescriptions on what the MKP should be doing - we got all that covered. Just relax about the evidence on vote rigging, we will submit it to the right people at the right time.
As far as I'm concerned, uMkhonto Wesizwe is opposed to the democratic framework all together. Didn't they want a 2/3 in order to effect constitutional changes? And, they should leave Zizi kodwa alone, like they're doing with Cyril. Otherwise they should both step aside.
There is a clear distinction between being a constitutional abolishonist and being anti-constitution or anti-constitutionalism. There is nothing wrong with being a constitutional abolishonist. Many constitutions, the world over, have been lawfully set aside and re-written to re-align them with the current values, beliefs and aspirations of the people whom such a constitution is supposed to serve.

the MK got rid of their initial list of candidates and made the new one and in the new one they took out 21 candidates who were in the first list and in their place replaced them with new 21 candidates
