You must not watch much baseball. They get angry and talk at the ump all the time and don't get run. That's why videos like this exist: they are the exception to the rule.
Hoping someone can explain this to me...if the ball is crossing the line of the batting zone over the home plate is that a allowed or disallowed ball (Hope that makes sense)?
you can't argue balls & strikes, so how about making it a no brainer to make the right call. Give the godam home plate ump a HUD visor, showing the feed from the same camera used to broadcast the game with......WE can see it clearly.......
Have computer call balls and strikes is a horrible idea. To make that work you'll become reliant on technology and you know at some it's going to glitch or go down completely. Them the players will stand around looking stoopid because no one knows how to calls balls and strikes. A different way would be to measure calls that are appealed and overturned. Once an ump reaches a certain percentage they go to the minors and someone comes up to replace them. Get rid of the bad umps.
These umpires are ridiculous when it comes to balls and strikes, for crying out loud you can’t even discuss balls and strikes or you’re tossed, what is it, these umpires are soft and get their feelings hurt by a player and or manager. It all comes down to is these umpires don’t like to be called out because it hurts their ego and are embarrassed they made a shitty call. I believe this rule takes away from the game of baseball. Just My Humble Opinion. Sports aren’t like they used to be and that’s sad. Baseball, football, basketball, soccer ect. Politics has gotten to involved in our lives and now sports. What a shame.
You have smart subscribers. They'll know. I'm trying to think of the name of the movie where a coach and ump are in each other's face but they're screaming nice things at each other. Help!
I know it's childish, but I still get a kick out of a batter throwing slamming his helmet and bat down after getting called out. I have absolutely no idea why.
This the one. They have no repercussions 99.9% of the time. Some of the calls are absolutely AWFUL, but the player/coach gets tossed for being upset? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
@@JusttJD We aren't ejecting players for errors, or watching a fastball right down the middle for strike three, are we? Humans make mistakes. Bad calls are as much a part of the game as errors, striking out, and walking a batter. Let's all be men about this an have level heads.
@@PapaVanTwee5and you expect them to just not care when an ump COMPLETELY blows a call? To just walk away and be like.. “yeah that was egregious but he’s human” 🤷🏼♀️ 🤣 That’s ridiculous. They lose their jobs they could lose everything because of a bad call and too many ejections but the umps have no repercussions? They can just be awful and then throw people out because of it? There are times when players and coaches definitely go too far, but to say what you said is so.. no offense.. dumb? To say they shouldn’t care and be a man about it? Men are passionate about what they love, I’m sorry you don’t seem to understand these things.
I understand that umps have an incredibly difficult job but they have too much power to eject players when their feelings are hurt. If they can eject players then the teams should be able to eject the umps for being terrible. Itd be like survivor for umps! (Obviously this isnt feasible but wouldnt that be amazing to watch? Haha.)
Honestly what convinced me about electronic Umping are the terrible ball & strike calls. Cricket handles this much better + it's quick. It would really make baseball better.
This is further proof Baseball Players do not know the strike zone, the rulebook says that if ANY PART OF THE BALL touches the strike zone line then it is a strike. That means that the strike zone is 1 ball width to the outside of the strike zone because if the ball is outside the strike zone and the inside of the ball crosses the line IT IS A STRIKE and when the robo callers start calling the balls and strikes and the Umpires have NO CONTROL OVER THE CALL the players are going to go sideways and a lot of them will be tossed and fined. Now the fans are going to hate the ROBO Callers and will show their A$$ES OVER IT AND A LOT OF THEM WILL GET REMOVED FROM THE GAME and be even more PI$$ED off for losing their money they payed to go to the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you can make the argument saying for anyone, meaning player, spectator, coach; until you can put yourself behind the plate calling a game where most pitches are between 80 and 100 mph; their job is unforgiving. They can call a great game but you will still have 50 percent of the people calling you awful. Lol much love for what umpires do!!
Funny game! Is there any other ballgame that allows so much arguing and delaying the action?? If umpires are bad,why don't announcers go and do better...
MLB should have a rule allowing the team mgr. of the batter to ask for a camera roll on any shakey umpire plate call. Also, MLB should have another rule that if an umpire has called more than three controversial calls in a game that the umpire gets taken out that one game with a pay cut & this should force umpires to get their act together & to stop being biased against certain players, etc.
I FIND IT IRONIC, that the calls umpires MAKE THE MOST MISTAKES ON( balls & strikes) ARE THE CALLS THAT "CAN'T BE ARGUED or REVIEWED, some of said bad calls changing entire game!
It's all opinion, meanip JUDGEMENT. By the way, the strike zone is 3 dimensional. That box you see superimposed on television is 2 dimensional. Up/down and in/out. I absolutely guarantee that a pitch that appears to be caught and then framed by the catcher has most certainly sliced through the strike zone. These players, managers, fans and announcers must be delusional if they believe that no one can get caught looking at strike 3. Let's just pass the blame onto someone else. Just like American society is today.
It is so laughable that all the little sheep’s wore those ridiculous masks for absolutely no reason! Not to mention how foolish they looked wearing them outside. ! Grow a set people.
These umpires get away with too much crap with their egos and MLB needs to crack down on these umpires antagonizing and provoking the players,. managers and coaches. These umpires need to get off their high horse. The game is supposed to be about the players and staff, not the umpires. They disciplined and punished for their bad behavior as well.
I still day mlb umps are the softest individuals in professional sports. I still think it's insane they can just throw people out Willie nillie. Bring on the AI for strikes/balls
@howiegee1 lol Ur mother didnt have any complaints the other night. Next time I'll leave u some money for pizza kiddo. Atleast be original Howie make it interesting.
Nothing like acting like a complete schmuck AND being wrong about the call(s) = most of these the umps are right and the players look like doofuses arguing when they are completely wrong. Now, I will say, some of these are arguing more for and from previous calls than just the one shown here.
The framing of pitches that are not strikes by catchers is absolutely ludicrous. On almost every one of these plays, watch the catcher move a pitch that is not a strike into the strike zone and get the call. Absolute bullshit and it's long been my least favorite thing about MLB, that it is allowed. Nothing but cheating. Yeah, I know everyone does it and it's part of the game, but its still absolute bullshit.
