I don’t agree with your assessment of the call at 16:15. That’s was way to close to call him clueless. In fact the replay shows that he doesn’t have the ball in possession (glove closed) until he’s pretty much right on the bag.
Just a baseball fan saying that I’m so glad you’re back to making videos, I would constantly come back to check if you posted any new content. Hope everything is okay !
21:59 I was at this game. The way the strike zone was getting called that day had me thinking in the back of my mind "someone might get thrown out if this keeps up," but it was actually a balk that lead to the ejection
at 6:22 is a unhittable pitch...I might have gotten tossed too. It came back over the back corner of the plate...sick just sick. Missed the front part got the back part
Can’t believe Arron Boone of all managers is on/in these videos the most you’d think someone on a big market team with a 200+ million payroll wouldn’t need to whine for calls to win. Just shows how bad he and cashmen have been.
Fare or not that’s shoddy baseball when you go after a defensive player like the catcher in the last clip. Players have gotten injured for that nonsense. There’s no need for that kind of baseball in my humble opinion. Great Video Love ‘‘em all. Thanks
11:42 As a friendly reminder, with all due respect to Mr. Angel Hernandez, Vic Carapazza is the worst umpire in MLB (and you will never convince me otherwise)
There's a 32 year body of work and evidence, 2 lawsuits that he lost because he absolutely sucks and the planet knows he suck. Show me evidence Carapazza is bad; okay he's the son-in-law of Rich Garcia who blew a called 3rd strike in the '98 World Series
Umpiring is a tough job, one I never wanted. But for those who aspire to this profession, it would be nice if they actually tried to be the very best that they can. But as a whole, MLB has the most incompetent officials in pro sports. But there is no real accountability, and they are paid very well, so why bother with being good.
I wonder how long it will be before the MLB does what the NBA does. Come off the bench during an altercation you get fined and suspended. Stay too long after an ejection then the same thing.
MLB has a major issue with all these young umpires. They aren’t very good and they all have rabbit ears. We don’t pay to watch them miss call after call them start throwing players and coaches out because someone from the dugout yells at them. If they can’t take the heat, go find another job!
My main issue with this is that umpiring is a difficult job for anyone to do and you can make every call perfectly 100% of the time and still have someone complaining about it and disagreeing with you.
granted, I watch Atlanta as my favorite, but the 2023 season was one of, if not the worst, season of umpiring I've ever seen. Either live, or on replay, the ups had a lousy year. Don't know what they are teaching these young umps, but it ain't the right way to do it.
