It's always the second guy that gets called, though. Metcalf got shoved so of course he retaliated. Warner didn't like how he was tackled, retaliated, and then Metcalf retaliated. Both are in the wrong if you're talking Roid Rage.
@@SpyroGamer2008 I don't get how people don't understand this. There's a fine line between a tackle and assault and Fred Warner basically assaulted DK. It was completely unnecessary. What normal person wouldn't take issue with that?

Dude was knocked out. The way his muscles seized up, you'd need a crowbar to pry it away from him. Wouldn't call it incredible in terms of skill, just the horrors of anatomy when they press your off button. You see fighters experience this during intense knock out hits.
A lot of these hits are close. A “defenseless” receiver is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. How tf are you suppose to tackle someone going for the ball then
@@CanIRapeYourPenis Greenlaw has anger issues and is a child. He needs to figure that out. Get him off the field. All Niners players are little babies.
8:02 the immediate care taken for the player's wellbeing by his teammates and coaching staff is amazing. The situation would have been only made worse if they had retaliated and tried to fight 22. Great maturity and self control
Back in the day, a tackle was wrapping your arms around a guy, not using your head as a bullet to knock him down. They should make them practice without helmets on to show them the proper way to tackle. Not a guy in the league would make it now if they didn't use their helmets as a weapon.
I highly doubt that they "the coaches" even know how to teach the basic fundamentals of proper tackling for any player except for Defensive Linemen (most of the time)
By back in the day you mean Leather Helmet with no face mask days??? Every since these helmets been in the game, guys been using the head to hit. Ronnie Lott was hitting with the head...Deacon Jones would slap you up side the head to get a sack... Yes the correct way is to hit with shoulders and wrap up the runner, but the NFL has never played like that. It was always about the big hit. And some guys you can't tackle with your arms (arm tackle) you have to hit them, they too big and too strong to tackle
Great suggestion if you want to increase neck/spine injuries and concisions. There is a reason they don’t teach tackling like that at any level anymore. Most people have enough empathy to understand crippling the tackler isn’t worth a tackle
I'm a Broncos fan and you are correct about Kareem Jackson. He was also thrown out in the Week 1 game against the Raiders in Vegas. The Texans later picked him up after the Broncos released him after his two game suspension from the Washington game.
Even the announcers can't even get the Metcalf thing right, they ignore that he body slammed that 49er #54 just like the 49er did and got penalized for earlier, before #54 retaliated. I hate that the announcers can't even stay consistent. Which I don't think either body slam or supplex as they would call it should be a penalty at all, it is called tackling. They baby these players now adays.
Also different situations btw Smith was body slammed AFTER the play was over, the whistles were blown Metcalf slammed him after the int, but couldnt see if he still had the ball, legal therfore
As a Vikings fan, I was actually happy the Niners got their revenge on the Eagles specially right at their (eagles)home. I remember I watched on tv all go down especially that fight with that Dom character, but at the same time I was chanting cry eagles cry at the same time. Now, if only my Vikings can start beating the Eagles more often(not counting 2018-19 season)
Even though it is a penalty to throw the ball forward. You can keep doing it to run as much time off the clock as possible. The clock will not stop until the play is over.
Of all of these, the helmet to helmet at 6:00 needs to be a thing of the past. That shit is reckless and can literally ruin some of these guys lives. Could've easily shoulder tackled, knocked the ball out, whatever, projecting your body into a helmet to helmet collision is just not ok anymore.
By that same logic then as an offensive player it is not ok anymore to leave your feet or lunge your body to catch a ball. If you can't catch the ball with 2 feet safely on the ground and standing normally then just don't catch it. Hell just remove interceptions and make the game like netball where the receiver runs the route and then stops there to receive the pass.
As a Steeler fan and more importantly a fan of the game, I supported Kazee’s ejection. It doesn’t matter where he hit Pittman, what mattered was that he lowered his helmet. As to his suspension,he was fined and penalized for leading with his helmet repeatedly and not just this season, this was the last straw.
@@sludge8506he was just trying to break up the bullshit that came on to THEIR sideline. What is he supposed to do, hold hands and sing sweet nothings to the opponent??
@@DTfan43 He has zero authority when it comes to player problems. That’s incredibly obvious, champ. He’s no longer allowed on the sidelines. The situation’s results are obvious. Dom is like a mall security chump who thinks he’s really a police officer. Dom misbehaved, and his misbehavior has been dealt with. He’s no longer allowed on the sidelines.
@@sludge8506 and maybe, just maybe, the players should keep their bullshit off the sideline. This wasn't a "Mike Tomlin trips player" incident. I get wanting to keep these sorts of things to a minimum but I feel the ban was heavy handed, since the guy that swiped at Dom's face wasn't suspended.
"Looks like there's going to be a brawl! playing anything good?" "HELL YEAH! ROLLIN STONES STREET FIGHTIN MAN!!! G! 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
They did football dirty this season. Redskins hit was over the top but that’s really the only hit (and Indy Pitt) that should have been flagged in this entire video
@@ToastiestWafflewe did it for the entirety of the nfl until 3-4 years ago. Ever hear of ray lewis. Better start calling linemen for “helmet hits” they do it every play
@@ToastiestWaffle Imagine thinking that getting hit in the head in a full-contact sport _isn't_ inevitable. Jackson clearly doesn't do it on purpose; he leads with his shoulder on every hit. He does all he can to jar the ball out of the hand of the carrier, and sometimes it leads to a bad hit like it did when he got ejected against the Redskins. However, his hit against Meyers was legal; Meyers slipped. Hit against Mosgrave was legal. Only other questionable hit was against Dobbs, but even then, most people, including players, I've heard talk on it say they don't see much wrong with it. Dude is playing defense like Steve Atwater used to, same with all the other oldschool legends. So, what's changed? Why is Kareem Jackson dirty but Steve Atwater is a Hall of Famer? Times have, and Kareem is still playing like the oldschool player he is. He isn't dirty, he just plays harder like they used to.
I find it annoying when no teammates attempt to break things up or stop someone from doing something stupid. Like that first one with Greenlaw. Someone should have walked him away earlier. Like it's just protecting your team and teammates by calming them down
@@michaels4162 college football uses it the penalty is when the player uses forceable contact to the head and neck area to a defenseless player and gets reviewed by the by the booth to see if the player was defenseless and the other player used force to make the hit if its confirmed the player gets ejected from the game and can't play the first half of the next game
Coaches around the league to give a refresher on tackling. OK guys, if your arms are at your side and you are trying to tackle using only your head, you are doing it wrong.
Funny how the defense is not allowed to use their head to tackle...but the runner can lower his head and go head first when running the ball. We see it all the time in short yardage runs, the RB lower his head and goes head first into the pile. This includes the runner diving forward Yet no one see the foolishness of the rule. If they stop the defense from using their head, the offense shouldn't be allowed to use their either
I gave up on football as soon as they started calling that BS, extremely one sided rule that completely nullifies an entire aspect of defensive play. I don't like seeing people get hurt, but that rule doesn't fix or address the problem. The equipment design is the problem, remove helmets and redesign the shoulder pads to be slimmer/softer, then it will be entertaining again.
not all are malicious. its easy to say that when you watch a play in slow motion, but if you ever actually played then you would understand that sometimes you just cant help it. dudes hitting a guy high w/ the crown would be a yes, which is why they eject those players. but, in less than the time the average person can even react, leading with the shoulder means turning your head and sometimes things just happen. hell, running at 18-20 mph to a spot with more than 1 person will result in some form of collision, someone gets hurt/popped/etc and everyone acts like that wasnt the expected outcome. the expectation of perfect precision, and with fans assuming intent, is not reasonable 100% of the time. your suggestion of a massive suspension would not only be useless, it would remove football as a sport. you want to stop this type of hit? remove the helmets/excess pads like rugby and people would stop using they heads as a weapon. the problem with that? it does the same thing as your suggestion and stops being "football". although I would argue it would still be football seeing as thats how the game originated. no masks, no heavy plastics.
I have a little question about the ref's hand signals. When a player is ejected, the ref usually signals with his fist and thumb pointing backwards over his shoulder, and announces that the player is "ejected". But in these clips, the ref never makes that motion with his thumb, and instead of the word "ejected" they say he is "disqualified". Is this a new procedure?
It seemed like DK metcalf started when he WWEd Fred Warner to the ground which caused Fred to retaliate by slamming his body against DK when he was on the ground which escalated that into an ejection from DK
launching his body into a hit to the head of a defenseless player? easy personal foul and ejection there. what makes it easier? the fact Jackson had 3 other ejections ON THE SEASON, for the exact. same. penalty... if you think that hit was clean, take a look at yourself. there was NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING clean about that hit. Not now, not ever. go home tough guy.
@@AKStovall he launches his shoulder into the tight ends shoulder after the tight end turns around and makes 2 steps lol and what else is jackson supposed to do hes a 5'10 safety going up a against a tight end fred warner launches himself all the time and never gets a penalty
Kareem Jackson is a DIRTY player. At least shown two clips where he blatantly launched himself with is helmet to make forceable contact with the wide receiver. The hit on Logan Thomas was BRUTAL and DIRTY.
Refs need to toughen up if they're gonna try and get in the middle of those crowed fights. Getting in the way and then getting hit unintentionally is his fault, not the players 🙄
