All of you saying he's getting bribed... no. He's literally just that bad. And has sued twice and lost on the basis of race. He's just bad at his job. Period.
Yep, he even tried to sue for discrimination because he never makes the umpiring crew play-offs roster. All they had to do was show him his accuracy record!
He's lucky he happened to stumble upon the safest job in America. If anyone was as bad at their job as Angel is they wouldn't last a week in any position.
Just some actual accountability for these horrible calls would be a start! Imagine the shame of being an umpire who made these horrible calls and then is called out for them and reprimanded......on a weekly basis!
@@josephstanley5138 I'd still rather see the challenge system implemented first though. Imagine having a record like ANGEL H's. and being seen nationally on a weekly basis being challenged and losing, over and over again. I have to believe they'd either get better or lose heir jobs. Which is what the ABS system would amount to.
I’d like to see umpires suspended/loss of pay/ fired for egregious bad calls. I’m not a sports bettor, but imagine how much money is lost, games are swayed due to flagrant bad calls that alter the course of the games. It’s absurd these guys can still be employed with the low level of call accuracy they make.
I wish I was good at baseball so I could play in the league for a few years, live very basic, make a few million then wait for my time to punch him. Yeah, I wouldn't be in the league anymore and probably some other repercussions, but it would be worth it. The other players would greatly appreciate it. Hell, I might end up in the hall of fame just for that
It would be funny to see him as a football referee on the sideline with a coach yelling in his ear for the entire game knowing he can't throw the coach out every time his feelings get hurt.
that Angel Hernandez does the horrible calls on purpose just to make himself the centre of attention and eject a player or a coach. As soon as he makes a call, he is taking his mask off and getting ready to eject someone before any interaction starts.
As a Brewers fan, watching Kyle Schwarber completely lose his mind after that terrible strike 3 call which clearly should’ve been ball 4 and advanced him to first base was easily one of the best reactions I’ve seen on live tv regarding such awful in game officiating.
Who would have known that since that ballgame in Chicago ejecting a superbowl champ, he would go on making those exact same calls in a union protected career for the next 30 years.
Joe West and Angel Hernandez retiring is good for baseball. Honestly. They ruined almost every game they were in. They were more interested in making a spectacle of themselves rather then doing their job. I think they were both ego maniacs more concerned about getting their name in the paper and on Sportscenter rather then do their job properly. So many of thse calls were so bad, it appeared on purpose just to invoke a reaction they knew they'd get.
Recker at 1:44.. you can hear him yelling profanity via a camera angle that usually you can't hear *anything* on except the crack of the bat and the crowd lol
If you're a pitcher, and you see Angel Hernandez behind home plate, why would you ever throw a pitch inside the strike zone? The guy is well known for calling strikes even when the ball is a foot outside of the plate!
Angel gets so much bad publicity that I think it started to work in his favor because it helps the mlb get attention too so they're rolling with it all they can
Yeah some of those were bad, some of them just questionable. But this year it looks like all the umps went to Angel Hernandez Training in the off-season.
Ese tipo lleva 33 años como arbrito en la MLB si no lo han botado en todo este tiempo dudo que lo hagan ahora ah pero eso sí no a arbritado un juego de serie mundial desde el 2005
if the umpires union really wants to prove its power, have Angel make some prop bets on his own games when he's working the plate. Then see if MLB can ban him for life.
Shit like this is one reason out of many why I loathe unions. They cant fire the incompetent bc they're "protected". Angel Hernandez is protected. Unions in other industries also cause cost of living, etc. to go up as well. They're anti-American
Angel is gaining SO much publicity and social media attention for the MLB. Memes, comments, TikTok’s, you name it. Does he suck? Absolutely. Is he probably the worst umpire to ever work in the majors? Yup! But the more he’s talked and posted about, the more reason the MLB has to keep him around. We’re playing right into his hands. The more he sucks, the more job security he has because he’s getting attention on the league. If we want the MLB to fire him, people need to STOP talking about him and forget he even exists. When that publicity goes away, he’s useless to the MLB and just another shitty ump.
