I love the ones where the player starts yelling at the official, and then the coach pushes him out of the way like “No, let me yell at him. You stay back.”
The MANAGER is trying to avoid having his player thrown out of the game by taking the heat himself. Arguing balls & strikes will get you thrown out fast because these blind AF jerk off umpires who blow calls all the time can't handle being told they're sht!
You can hit another player and you’ll get in a little bit of trouble but not the end of the world. Punching an official is a big no no. Banned from the league guaranteed.
4:28 I feel like umpires literally stand in front of a mirror and practice their motion for when God ever grants them the chance to throw out Lou Piniella.
Seeing Joe Girardi get mad was an incredible moment, especially considering how calm and collected he was/is as a manager. The announcer was absolutely right, he did it out of reasonable frustration as a tactic to get the Yankees players fired up.
I think the funniest ejection I’ve ever witnessed was one of my coaches. Ump was blowing the strike zone all game and my coach had enough. The ump comes over to my coach and says, “One more word and you’re gone coach.” My coach comes right up to his face and says, “Word.”
Joey Votto gets very upset about ball and strike calls, argues the umpires over balls and strikes, slams his helmet, and gets ejected from the game for arguing balls and strikes. Joey Votto loses control of himself over balls and strikes.
@@chinesepugs-bestbreedofdog7254 well a 1-2 count and a 2-1 count are very different😂 plus of anyone knows the strike zone ita Votto... Man's OBP is insane
David Ortiz is livid at the umpires over balls and strikes. He smashes the dugout pressbox phone, argues the umpires over balls and strikes, gets ejected from the game for arguing balls and strikes.
You have to think MLB loves this stuff or they would implement a rule that says once you are ejected from a game, if you don't immediately leave the field you get suspended for the next game as well.
@@danland8453 honestly, I wish it was allowed to get Physical. The umpires never face any consequences for being awful at their jobs, as well as being arrogant pricks
@@TurtleFL I think it was pretty cool and smart cuz you're not pushing ,cursing or spitting on the umpire ... one good example I once saw in game was Billy Martin without saying a single word just kicking dirt on the umps shoes and pants lol .... I find it hilarious yet smart 👍
And the crazy part-KC protested the game and the protest was UPHELD by the American League President, the last time that happened in MLB. The game was played out a few weeks later.
When Lloyd McClendon picks up the first base and walks off with it at the 12 minute mark, I was there!!!!! What an amazing night!!! That got the Pirates fired up and they went on to win the game!!! Awesome night in Pittsburgh!!!!
Thanks for including George Brett. A true classic. He was later ruled safe but that was still a hell of a fit he threw. I actually saw it on TV as a kid and wondered just what he would have done had they not restrained him. Beat up the umpire?
I know I didn't get to see that Cubs-Reds play at the plate in slow-mo, but I did pause it frame by frame. It didn't look like he even touched the plate, let alone beat the throw. I don't see how replay could have overturned that.
I’m literally laughing at the Reds Marlins game where the Marlins manager started yelling and the umps and the announcer said that the Marlins manager is confronting the umps and his partner said “I feel like doing the same thing!” 😂😂 just dying laughing from that
I always love how these announcers say "that will cost him some money." $30K to these players is like 5 cents to me. It serves as ZERO deterrent to fine players.
It should be a percentage of whatever the player's on, let's say 50% of their pay for that game. That way it hurts everyone the same from the Vottos, Harpers and Machados all the way down to the Smiths, Taylors and Andersons.
Depends on what player did the punching White Player: Probably wins MVP of the league and some kind of Good Samaritan award Latin Player: Deported to Cuba even if he’s not from there Black Player: Thrown out of MLB and then 50 women will mysteriously come forward all at once with sexual harassment charges
Lou Piniella at 4:32, after spiking his cap at the 3rd base umpire's feet, starts kicking dirt on his shoes. That's Old School. I love it. You just don't see that as often as you used to. I can remember seeing him using that same routine 40 years ago. Hall of Fame managers like Piniella, Tommy Lasorda, Billy Martin, and Joe Torre would spike their hats and kick up clouds of dirt on somebody almost every game. It was worth the price of admission.
I really feel sorry for umpires on the 'foul or fail' calls SOMETIMES when the ball is narrowly avoiding/contacting the line. Going at that speed, it can sometimes be really hard to decide in a split moment to make the actual right call, since that it's going VERY fast.
The one where the Mets person hit the umpire after the “foul” ball. It was probably a knee jerk reaction... as two seconds before the umpire pushed him. So if no one is allowed to touch the umpires why can they do it first?
This is an older video. But I've always loved when they commentators agree with the person who got tossed. Because they know when they're right. They watch just as much Baseball as the umps and probably know the rules just as well too 😂
