That’s because there’s a clip of a kid getting adjusted for celebrating a strike out as a 12-year-old so MLB players are scared they were going to get injected
I coached my little boy. At the age of 7 he played 2nd, got a roller, flipped it to short who somehow whipped one to first. This doesn't happen in pitching machine league. The whole place was shocked. As they came in, my high school coach came out of my mouth....."alright boys, nice play but let's act like we've done it before now" I felt awful. They were 7! It just slipped out.
Me: has never watched baseball. Doesn’t even understand a single rule, let alone the game RU-vid algorithm: Baseball’s most creative plays My silly ass: sounds great!
duckboy That's a brain freeze on Swisher. Ball isn't completely fair or foul down either line until it passes 1st or 3rd base. Swisher runs it out he's on base. Can't assume a play is over.
synchronium24 Not completely true. The ball must be LIVE (moving) passing over 1st or 3rd for it to be called fair. If it STOPS/DIES WITHIN THE FIELD OF PLAY IN FAIR TERRITORY (4:32), it is a fair ball
Six years elapsed between the two plays. And the first prompted either a new rule or stricter enforcement of an existing rule; I can't remember which. A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.
The second one 5 clips later you site where the announcer says " nah, you can't blow it foul " he's absolutely correct. It's actually an official rule.
devin the the ball is being hit 100mph and caught straight off the bat at the pitcher's mound so it makes sense to get caught in the web matrix that protects your hands from the ball.
It seems like that happens on numerous plays. Just like the guys in the NBA walking or traveling with the ball. I guess when your a "pro" the rules aren't as important.
When I was a kid, baseball was my favorite sport, by far. But, then after awhile, watching the Major Leagues got so long and boring, I hardly ever watched it anymore. For me, it all started when, Boston's Nomar Garciaparra stepped out of the batters box to adjust his batting gloves after Every single pitch! Even if he didn't swing! I couldn't stand it. And I'm a Red Sox fan. . . They should make a new rule. Once you step in the batter's box, you cannot get out of it, unless a pitch might hit you, you hit the ball, fair or fowl, or your, 'at bat' is complete. (Including a walk, which is not an at bat, but, is considered a 'plate appearance.') Similarly for the pitcher. You really don't need to walk around the mound after every pitch, play with the rosin bag, attempting to make it a dramatic scene. It should be more like Little League, just in terms of get in the damn box and hit. Get on the mound and pitch! Anyway, I watch Hockey now. It's non stop action. Nothing boring about hockey! (I record it and fast forward through every commercial, and the Zamboni time.)
Incorrect. 3:29 is Lenny Randle for the Mariners. The thumbnail for this vid is Kevin Seitzer for the Royals at 4:30. But kudos to you for knowing the difference between "you're", "your" and "yore." Sadly rare.
When I was a teenager I used to think this shit was so boring and I could never understand why people would watch it and now that I’m in my 20s I find it really exhilarating and I am not a sports person I don’t watch any other sports but I love watching baseball
3:43 Kershaw was fortunate that his glove didn't touch the ball, otherwise, by rule, it would've been an automatic triple. Can't hit the ball with a thrown mitt.
