*short stop makes terrible throw to first and the first baseman literally does the splits to get the ball* the commentators: great play by the short stop he really knows how to play
Hey bro, can you or anyone on earth do a Keith Hernandez defensive highlight video? The MLB 1st base leader with ELEVEN CONSECUTIVE....CONSECUTIVE....one more time, CONSECUTIVE, AS IN A ROW Gold Gloves and there's not one video out there? Is it because mid 70s and all throughout the 80s it's harder to find clips? Same with Mattingly, 9 Gold Gloves, 2 of the greatest defensive 1st basemen to ever play the game and not one defensive highlight vid for either? I said in another post home runs are cool but I'll take defense any day of the week. Even just simple, routine putouts, I'd love to see them go through their motions. It doesn't have to be spectacular leaps and acrobatics, I honestly would love to see the most basic plays at 1st. And then the age old question: why is Keith not in the HOF? Mattingly, unfortunately the back injury. As of now Bonds, Mcguire, Clemens, A-rod, etc, we know why they're not in..but did Keith's 'recreational' drug use and 'bad boy' image have/had anything to do with it? Because his offense wasn't on par with his defense? Is there any definitive answer?
