@@priestsonaplane2236 Because he is a pitcher. In MLB, pitchers used to bat, but were usually very bad at it. Many were given explicit instructions not to swing, lest they hurt themselves. He's more valuable to the team on the mound than on 1st base with a sore knee, or whatever. There has long been a problem with sports voices praising "grit" or "hustle" only for white players, but this isn't the case here.
Upto was taking batting practice before a game at dodger stadium signing autographs i was next and the manager called him over. He looked at me and said sorry buddy meet me right here at the end the game and I’ll sign the ball for you. My dad was like yeah right 🙄 he hit a walk off base hit I stood there as he was getting interviewed and still came to sign my ball before continuing to celebrate with his team. Favorite memory
I just don’t get that second machado clip. Bro it’s the WORLD SERIES! Not to mention your team is already losing game 3 where you’re 0-2 in the series. The stakes could not be higher!
My little league coach would even make us sprint, even we thought it was a guaranteed out. Never know when someone is gonna make a mistake. And if anything else always commit 110%
It's hard to criticize players for not hustling in major league baseball. Do you really want to see your star player blow out their hamstring and miss a lot of games on one play? As long as they don't make it look too obvious, I'm ok with it.
But that’s the point. U run it out because u never know. If u have an attitude like “I’m probably gonna get thrown out so there’s no point in hustling” then it sets a bad example for the younger players and younger generation
@@nyrgaming3091 yup, players like that are poison to the locker room. you get a few more hits and homeruns but your team is going to be shit without strong leaders, even in the majors.
