Skyler McGrath its not always trading it could be free agency and the player just refused the offer to play another few years with that club considering after your debut you have 6 years before you’re eligible for free agency
When Utley, Rollins and Shane came back, I got emotional, these guys alongside Howard, Ruiz, Ibanez, Hamels, Madson, Blanton, Lidge, Lee, Oswalt and Halladay were my childhood
Good video but the music over powers it. It would be better without the music over and over. Part of being able to enjoy the homecoming of the players is being able to hear the crowd reactions and you cant
This kinda got me sad how they did so much for their team but when they have to get traded they get sad but it’s a happy moment how your old team never turned their back on you
Can't wait for Rizzo's return to Wrigley, whenever that may be. I'm exactly 299 miles from Chicago but I will try my best to be there for that day when our captain returns home.
It's hard for them because you get drafted by that team and they play on that team for like what 6 years or more then they get traded. Like it's a slap in the face. I live in pittsburgh and Andrew McCutchen has been on the Pirates for as long as I can remember. He was always my favorite player. My dad played in the major leagues too and he was drafted by the Pirates manager so they are still friends and every year we would go and hang out in the dug out before a game and I would always go to see cutch. And I went to the game when he returned to Pittsburgh and I cried. Like when he came up I screamed my boys home and it was great. He belongs in Pittsburgh
I will always love these and I WISH that the PA’s would sell the intro as if they were still on their team. I know what some may say, but fuk it. Most players don’t get this type of return/acknowledgment of achievement. They EARNED it and I would sell the hell out of that in house PA call like no other. It only happens once and few-and-far-between. Truly special moments for all players/sports to show the fans how much they appreciated the support, sacrifice, injuries all for the chance to win and shine. 👏🏻👏🏻
Of all the core guys who were traded or not resigned from the 2016 World Series team, Anthony Rizzo and Javy Baez have not played at Wrigley. They are going to blow the roof off that place if it happens.
Still kinda curious as to why AJ and Derrek both got these welcomes in their teams that came after the Marlins when both players played their best baseball and won rings with the Marlins? Where’s their Miami welcome?
