MLB's Most Feared Bullpen: The Nasty Boys Story
The Cincinnati Reds' bullpen, which included a trio of fireballers, Rob Dibble, Norm Charlton, and Randy Myers, became more than just relievers; they were downright nasty!
You had to forget about conventional bullpen roles; because this trio was brash, bold, and unapologetically loud.
In today's video we look at MLB's Most Feared Bullpen: The Nasty Boys Story...keep watching for more on norm charlton, rob dibble, nasty boys, randy myers, randy myers (baseball player), rob dibble (baseball player), the nasty boys, randy, charlton, myers, dibble, rob dibbble, nasty, rob dible, norm, nasty boy, boys, 99 rob dibble debut, rob dibble interview, cincinnati reds, cincinnati reds (professional sports team), 1990 cincinnati reds, randy myers reds, 1988 cincinnati reds, 1991 cincinnati reds, the 1990 cincinnati reds, cincinnati reds (baseball team), and 1990 reds

The fun thing about the Nasty Boys using M.C. Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" as their song, is the fact that M.C. Hammer used to be the batboy for the team they beat in the World Series, the Oakland A's. They're the ones who gave him the name "Hammer" because they thought he looked like Hank Aaron.

The 90 reds are the most underrated team in MLB history... They went wire to wire and swept the defending world series champions... If they were a new York team, they'd be talked about as one of the best teams of all time...

I agree, they were pretty spectacular. Interestingly enough, if I remember correctly they were supposed to get steamrolled by the A's that year. Everybody saw them as a juggernaut that couldn't be stopped. It turned out that the Reds were actually the team that couldn't be stopped. Thank you for the comment!

Ahhh 1990 was great. As a 10 year old kid who just started paying attention to sports and moving to KY in 1989 the Reds were instantly my favorite team. Sabo,Larkin,Davis,Rijo and the Nasty boys were so fun. Right around the corner was Jordan and the Bulls.

I won 10 bucks on the reds on the 90 series. We had an A’s minor league team and everyone thought the A’s had it. I knew they didn’t even have a game in em. That ten year old me called it. I knew they were gonna win before the season started. Sick team. Loved Barry Larkin. I loved the A’s too though. I bought one pack of cards in86 and got that canseco topps rookie card 😂😂 Then my cousin took it as soon as i scrolled through it In The pack. 😢 Good times. They don’t make em like that anymore

I’m no fan of Sparky Anderson but I give him credit for developing the modern bullpen. The 84 Tigers had Juan Berenguer, Aurelio Lopez and Willie Hernandez performing the same roles as the Nasty Boys. The 75 Reds used Clay Carroll, Will McEnaney, Pedro Borbon and Rawly Eastwick. The true originator of bullpen baseball was Clark Griffith.
