Ahhh just clicking on this video and hearing Harry's voice brought an immediate tear to my eyes. I had the honor of hearing Harry and Jack Buck together in 1967 and 1968, starting at age 8, when I discovered my Cardinals for the first time. Although i didn't know it then, I was listening to the greatest TEAM of announcers ever created. And the Cards went to the world series esch of those first two years. I said, Will they go to the WS EVERY YEAR? This video is such a treat, thank you! Viva WhiteyBall!
WHITEYBALL!! This team was so much fun to watch!! These days, baseball is a drag. (Thanks Rob Manfred) You can have your analytical bull shit. Get me a bunch of fast switch hitters that can play excellent defense, and I'll start watching games again.
Wow! This video brought back many, many memories. I was in Central Illinois. Half and half Cards / Cubs fans. But we got all of the Cubs games because we got WGN on cable. I was (and am) a Cards fan, but the rest of my family Cubs fans. '85 Card were awesome! The Jump song for the Cubs is iconic. Great memories.
