I enjoyed '17 so much and actually played it for a whole year with no or short breaks, so I am definitely looking forward to '18 and love the revamp! Already pre-ordered, the Show starts Tomorrow! ;)
I went with the MVP Edition i pre-order mine early Feb MLB The Show is a game that keeps evolving year by year and i don't mind pre-ordering The show as early as i can because they deliver
mlb needs to take some pointers from madden also. this game has no immersive narrative whatsoever. Game 7 of the world series and the "inside the show" broadcast didn't even mention that it was the freaking world series! the game has no fan feedback or league news YAWN!
best is NBA 2k18 cause is the only sport that has competition I love football and baseball and don't like basketball but unfortunately they have the best game for franchise mode
Half the fan base would disagree. Just constant bitching about the online and how laggy it is, and never mentioning how smooth the offline play is so therefore the game is always crap in their eyes.
So they cut out the part of the game they couldn’t monetize. Along with 29 of my International friends, I will be sitting out this year’s addition. An entire online franchise community dumped on the trash heap because we don’t buy stubs and packs. Thanks San Diego Studios.
Still things they didn’t fix like how a comeback deflects off the pitcher’s face and he doesn’t get hurt or at least losing confidence, you can only Challenge a call at first base and when there’s less than 2 outs.
I really can't wait until tomorrow! This is the new highlight of my gaming, since Madden is the same game every year and there is no more NCAA Football.
Alphonse Cappetta I agree with you all but madden 18 was a phenomenal game the best in the series I have it on both of my systems but I am so ready for the show

jfmthuglove you know what, this was the first year I didn’t buy Madden since I was like 11 because I was so tired of the game never really changing. I may have to pick it up and see what it is all about
Michael Glattli NCAA was amazing and my favorite game ever. Especially with their dynasty mode and the draft classes being able to connect to Madden. I have to check out FIFA
This does seem like a much improved game this year. From the bit I've played already, RTTS feels a bit fresher with the added training style where you can choose to work on two or three of your stats and it shows a small cutscene with your player working with a teammate/coach/watching his phone to boost the cap. The fact they've eliminated the ability to make a 99 player in all areas. That always felt a bit unrealistic to me that you could max everything out, or just go and buy the points to get the advantage. The camera in RTTS has really improved. Now I don't get sick when running to first cause it's not swinging around following the ball. The announcers now call the names of players on bases which makes it feel a bit more realistic and they've added more commentary lines which is a breath of fresh air, minus the same lines Matt keeps saying every year. Franchise and Season have been merged into one mode finally which never made sense as they were essentially the same mode with Franchise having a few more bells and whistles and, the hitting feels a lot better this year.
They should make a legit retro mode, or give us classic teams like in NBA2k, with proper hats uniforms footwear and their respective fitment according to the era.
Mlb the show should have bat gripping changes like if you choke up you get a small + to contact and you can choke up or choke down on the bat and the option to choose the default way you hold the bat
So the game has rain delays? I've got a question about that; does it at least give a potential weather forecast for the upcoming schedule, so you could manage your pen and/or starters accordingly in the games before? I could just picture out of nowhere pitching a shutout in the 4th inning and all of a sudden the game gets delayed with no warning.
In the pregame menu if it says rain then there is a chance there will be rain, might not even be enough for a delay or might have a 2 hour delay, each experience should be different
Im a huge baseball fan played college baseball and I have every RBI baseball and the show game. I'm excited about the show 18. This could be the best sports game. It looks really good and I see that the devs put in some work.
I havent played yet so i’m not sure if they already added this but I would like to be able to challenge plays at will. Obviously following all rules but being able to do so at will such as Madden (Challenge play) would be cool.
Game doesnt cease to suck. PS4 and we still have block-figure players. Unrealistic jerseys. Pathetic swing and pitching animations, like they hired someone from their backyard to recreate athletic motions. No transitions from one movement to the other. Can't really judge the commentary which they "may" have improved. Overall, the game has lacked personality since forever. It's time for a change.
Question... I'm new to the game, if I set my pitching and hitting difficulty to veteran, will online mode match me with someone with same difficulty settings?
all this is great but what about the gameplay ? I field a ground ball and my infielder takes his sweet time to throw the ball !!Outfielders miss line drives .. You cant take a lead the computer pics u off everytime .The hitting ..I swing and the bat goes right through the ball ..there are so many foul balls everything is foul!! Those few things really affect the game I hope they fix them
Producers never mentioned they got rid of season mode too. Season mode is a nice alternative if you want to play a 29 or so game season with just having a 40 man roster. I've carried over Mone since '15 now I can't. Shameful. Plus no more Oakley sponsorship. The official sunglasses of the mlb....
I love baseball and I had a lot of fun with MLB the show17, I’m still on the edge about 18 this game just doesn’t seem like it’s made a lot of important changes since 17 what you guys think?
Wow. Glad I skipped this year. I don't want a player 'Archetype" in RTTS, I want to just play and level up my character how I please. No Season mode! Lame. Season mode and RTTS was all I ever played. I can't be bothered with Franchise, because I want to just turn on my PS4 and play some baseball, I don't want to manage 3 different teams.
Can some 1 tell me what is the online franchise? I am sorry if its a dumb question but i never played any mlb the show. I want to buy the game but i never heard of that but i read some comments in other videos and people seem pretty pissed about the devs removing it
They really ruined this game between no online mode and custom innings for the franchise i liked customizing the games to 1 innings bc it would go fast and i wouldnt play an entire 162 game season
Ridiculous how The Show and 2K actually tries and Madden just sit on their hands year after year smdh. P.S The Show also has no competition (unless you consider RBI comp😏) but still tries to put out the best game they can!!

I want just baseball good old fashion baseball also create a player, trades I don't need training, or minor league crap, or players who are no longer on earth like Babe Ruth or others just give me real baseball Oh, I do not play online; I was real disappointed in 2017 the show.
