I can attest for the use of the strikezone camera view...I was a .260 hitter last year before I switched to strikezone...ended up hitting over .300 by the end of the game.

I know I'm really late to the party on this, but this video came in pretty handy for me. I just (finally!) got a PS4 myself a little while back, and I just picked up a copy of MLB: The Show 18, MVP Edition, the other day. I was getting a new computer at the time, so the price was right, and I was just looking for a game to play. The part about taking pitches really seems like it'll help me out - I had no idea about the confidence thing, and.... well into May in RTTS, my player still has 0 walks to his name, (although he has 0 strikeouts as well, so there is that). I appreciate the vid.

Thank you so much for this info! I know my sample size is small, but using this in RTTS I'm hitting a lot better and I won my first ranked online Diamond Dynasty game. It's still a little awkward coming from MLB 15 camera, but it's only going to help me in the long run.

I used to think Strike Zone was best view, but after trying Strike Zone 3 in 18, I think it’s better. I’m getting a better feel for balls that will break out of zone. Thought I’d hate it but absolutely love it.

This helped tremendously. The settings helped alot, was using directional and kept popping the ball up almost every hit. Couldnt get a win and I was getting PISSED. Used your setting and won 11-3

I think you can still max out all your stats, but you have to supplement with gear that you get from packs and the market. Which makes sense considering all SDS gives a shit about is in game purchases. This is why I will not be playing DD this year.

One thing you forgot to mention lol, your not supposed to got that great people! Going 1 for 3 in a game for a person is actually doing good. Not everyone hits a home run every game

Strike zone view takes away presentation but def helped me be a better hitter online and pitch better as well

While the strike zone camera will probably make it easier to hit as it literally locks your hitting spot into the strikezone and you do get a much closer zoom look at the pitches, I believe it takes some of the fun out of the game as we can't see the players' faces, stances, more of the stadium, etc.. I can't even see homeplate. With this strike zone camera, you really can't chase swing outside of the strike zone which is a good thing but also unrealistic. I would prefer the offset zoom to the strike zone camera.

I power swing on 2-0, 3-0, 3-1 counts And contact swings on any 2 strike count Normal swing any other count But it also depends on the player, I never use power swing on players like Dee Gordon.

Strike Zone Cam, Wedge PCI, Zone+Analog w/Stride Swing is what I prefer. I think the analog swing with the stride on is the most realistic recreation of a baseball swing in terms of feel and timing. I think the button swings are archaic and dull.

I'm mainly watching this to see if hitting has changed much. Since I didn't buy 17 and I just played endless hours of 16 and decided to buy this one. I mainly got this one to see if the road has changed any since they said they added rpg aspects to this one. I hated in 16 being drafted by a team I hated and even with my player being a top player on the team I could never get traded no matter how many times I asked I went through 6 seasons on that team being a starting pitcher and hated it. I personally prefer directional hitting so I'll still probably use that.

Pure Analog is the way I go. I feel that Zone is so popular because it is a crutch. I mean you have a Visual Aid on the screen. Pure Analog is about the user’s timing and everything else is about the attributes of the player.

money4385 Zone+Analog w/ Stride is the most accurate representation of a baseball swing mechanic in terms of timing. PCIs are a matter of taste. I don't really like them. If I had to use one I'd use Wedge. But I do prefer the Analog over Buttons for sure.

I use zone hitting and they talked about the different zones of the PCI. Top is pop up. Middle top is fly ball. Middle is line drive. Middle bottom hard grounder. Bottom weak chopper. Most of my home runs come when I line the ball up in the bottom of the PCI though. And on multiple occasions I will line it up perfectly in the middle and it'll be a pop up to the infield. It's just so messed up and inconsistent.

Retro is the best camera angle, you have to customize it though and adjust it to make it right ... Once you do that it’s 100 percent the perfect angle ....

adam I always use x bro very rare do I use square unless I'm like 0 for 3 in the and iam coming to the plate for my last time but most square buttons is going to result in hitting straight players glove I bat rtts 315 in legend hitting

I use contact most of the time. If there are guys in scoring position with 1 out and I have two strikes I use contact. If I'm ahead in the count 2-0, 3-0, 3-1 then I'll use square because it's more likely the pitcher will throw a strike down the middle.

I'm new and recently started playing. Ended up pulling Judge and Posey in a couple packs. Do you power swing on the 1st and 2nd strikes and contact/normal swing on 2 strikes? I noticed between the power and normal swings, the PCI almost doubles in size. I started doing that with Judge and with his 2 strike hitter perk, a normal swing hits a lot of Homers for me.

When I hit with Judge with dynamic PCI on legend his coverage is so little 😂 I changed it to Wedge and it’s uneven as hell lmao it’s a lot bigger arc on the outside part of the plate. Anyone know wtf is happening? Lol
