Not an Angels fans but Trout seems to be a decent guy who just wants to help his team. Can't hate on that or make fun of him. Hopefully he can come back and maybe just remain as a DH.
I completely understand all the comments about Mike Trouts injury history, but as far his comment about working as hard he can and giving it all he can whole in the lineup Mike Trout was the first person to hit 10 homers in the 2024 season. Stuff happens in real life that you can't always control despite your best intentions. No person that has ever truly seen Mike Trout train, practice, and play would ever think he would like to miss a single game, much less as many as he has. He's given his all for the Angels. He's ride or die.
I think he's doing too much in the weight room personally. Stanton had this issue with injuries in NY because he got up to 255-260. You cannot play OF 162 games that big. It's also why Judge is a constant injury risk. Trout is pushing 240 and at his age that's hard on the joints and ligaments running around the OF and bases like he does. If I'm his trainer I'm on him to drop 20 lbs and get back to his size his first few years in the league.
I may have an unpopular opinion here but, I like Harold Reynolds. Always have. He is Mr glass half full. He is Mr Optimistic. He brings positive vibes. You have your fair share of pessimist, realist and then optimist. What if he's right? What if this very long period of rest is enough for Trout to turn back the clock and be the Mike Trout we remember?
Trout has a no trade clause. He would have to approve any trade and his contract is massive. Good luck finding a team to take an injury prone guy with a massive contract left to pay out.
@@Benzy-d3u good point but if Angels are willing to pay some of it, I think there’s at least one team that would take that chance, if he ever waived his clause.
@@BrutusJrThe3rd The problem now is he just tore the meniscus in his knee again. He has to have another surgery and then rehab again. No team will take a guy in a trade coming off of knee surgery. He's going to have to play with the Angels next season so teams can take a look at him to see if he's ok.
Because they're the stupidest run org in MLB. Seriously, if you can't win with the resources they have located in the second largest TV market you're either incompetents who don't know what they're doing OR you're tanking on purpose.
People are gonna talk about Mike like they did about Mickey Mantle -- he was the greatest of his era, but imagine how great he would be if he could have been healthy for his entire career.
Happens a lot to super talents in all sports. People just look at numbers but a giant distinction between the greatness of the greats is longevity and toughness. It's understood that to be one of the greats it requires staying on the field. It's not his "fault" but Trout must adjust his style, his workouts, and his approach to preparing for a season at his age with his injuries. He can't play at 240 anymore.
@@JohnMegaton2062 It's baseball too. When I was in highschool I did maybe 50 games in 2 month with American Legion. states and camp, and I was demolished by the end of that. I can't imagine the toll 162+ games takes on an already beaten body of these guys. People knock on baseball for being a 'sitting sport' - but there's no sport that has a harder schedule than baseball. The season is a marathon.
I don't want to sound cruel, but this story is repetitive now because Trout has been injury-prone for the last few years. As they talk about in this segment, he hasn't played a full season in several years, with only one season exceeding 100 games and the rest less than half of the season. I don't expect him to return and play consistently in the future, though I hope I'm wrong. His body seems wrecked and fragile. His rehabs have taken longer than expected each time he's been injured, only to be injured again when trying to return.
They lucked into Trout. They are content with mediocrity in a huge TV market where you can make money without trying. When they do try they sign guys past their prime (Pujols) or guys who apparently don't give a 💩 and fine just drawing a check (Rendon). And you can forget about the Angels ever developing pitching - they don't know how. One of the worst run orgs in MLB.
trout should come back as a DH and after a season go back to CF or RF if he wants. I feel like with the angels injuries every year it is almost inevitable that trout is back playing OF.
He should go to the Phillies. Not hometown but he’s from Jersey, he goes to almost every Eagles home game. He will get a new energy charge in Philly. If we choke this year we should trade for Trout and go for it all next year
Can we dive into HGH as a way to prevent these injuries and provide superhuman recovery? Can’t help but wonder how much it could extend/prolong/allow mike trout to finish his career healthy so that he doesn’t become Ken Griffey Jr jr
@@melioda9554I was saying that with how much Griffey Jr. got hurt and was still one hell of a player it’s the same with what is happening with Trout right now
Angels fan and Mike Trout fan here......Mike Trout is a fragile player, thats just reality. Put him at DH, hitting first in the lineup get him 5 plate appearances a game. No more running around the outfield, no more stelaing bases. Get him 500 at bats and he can help the team win. Obviously what he is doing isn`t working, gotta try something different.
Mike Trout should just call it career and retire, he's never getting a ring (unless he asks for a trade and piggy backs on a championship team like what's done in the NBA)
I'm devastating, trout when healthy is prop top 3 player in baseball(judge and ohtani) imagine his career statistics if he could've played 150 games last 4 seasons
@@dariusfountain683you’re actually sped. Players have such a small impact on an individual level versus other sports. It’s not like basketball where a single player’s usage can carry a game. Baseball is much more limited.
@@Mrmeeseeks18a tad different comparing those Mariner's teams with the trash rosters Trout has had around him. It was Trout and Ohtani and that's it. Pujols was mediocre at best with the Angels. Thats all they had. Period. On top of it all they had some of the worst pitching in MLB the last 10 years. Seattle constantly underachieved with the talent they had while Griffey was there. They had Arod, The Unit, Buhner, Martinez all in their prime but couldn't win when it mattered. Griffey teams were 7-12 in playoff games in his career so this isn't a differentiator of any note. Losing a bunch of playoff games isn't much better than no playoff games.
HEY, DON'T CUT OFF WALK-OFF GAMES FOR QUICK PITCH!! Watching Cubs walkoff win over Cardinals and you cut the game during celebration for Quick Pitch? WHY? WAIT A DAMN MINUTE OR 2, DAMN! You ruin a good moment for a show that's going to air OVER & OVER, ALL NIGHT & HALF THE NEXT MORNING!! GEEZ, WTF, GIVE US A BREAK!!
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR MEN?!? The human body has never been this fragile. And I love Baseball but let’s be serious it’s not a grueling sport like Soccer or Football and even Basketball. This doesn’t make sense, this man should be with a contender. I wonder if because he is all they have they must not never give him a rest day.
Sob bro we all wanna play. Believe me I left to name foil polls soiss America wouldn't hear a bell at night. Apparently MLBer's are after second to go actors actresses and entertainers. Leave seconds to a glove in main field. Tell your trainer to rub it with a magnifying glass for a couple of days in a row.. I got rid of mine. I'm not six foot tall. Thankfully homers Boston are more remembered than entertainers.
Overrated he coulda been trade it to a contender and he declined he knows he can’t perform under pressure come on if he love the game and he’s good as they say he is he would’ve want to win a championship
Hes to big and bulky, you don't need to be fuckin 240 to play baseball. Puts a lot of wear and tear carrying all that around, completely unnecessary to be that muscled up to play BASEBALL.
This is the worst contract in the history of MLB. The Angels would love to get rid of Trout, but can't. His contract is an albatross around their neck. They can't get out from it. He's stealing their money now. Trout's a parasite.
He should go to the Phillies. Not hometown but he’s from Jersey, he goes to almost every Eagles home game. He will get a new energy charge in Philly. If we choke this year we should trade for Trout and go for it all next year
