Fr I got a chance to play with most of those guys online even Walshy , StongSide etc 😢 golden years I got ur pistols sounded like a chipmunk 🐿️ my friend Jay introduced me
+Brandon Friesen cod didnt ruin mlg, the lack of effort bungie and 343 put into the games after h3 is what killed mlg for halo, also the fact that halo pros didnt build a reputation on youtube as call of duty players did
I didn't think halo 2 went anywhere? its still a game and its still avaible isn't It? I actually play it once in awhile and there's still a good amount of players. NOTHING like before, but it didn't disappear LOL u can still play, don't cry
I lived on this game, got it and played online the first day it came out. It was so ahead of its time in many ways such as clan battles. The Xbox community was so great back then, everyone talked, fucked around, had laughs, trash talked, there was always something going on. Idk how many trash talkers I had to give the heat to in 1v1s 😂. I still am friends with many of my old gaming buddies. All of the glitches were great too and added more depth and skill. The H2-3 era can’t be replaced. Not only was the multiplayer/comp scene great, the custom game/forge community was amazing. From playing zombies, tower of power…etc in H2 to insane custom maps/gamemodes in H3. I remember learning how to bridge host as a kid so I didn’t get standby’d against or play a modder or sticking a card in my Xbox to stop the disc so I didn’t play certain shitty dlc maps. Rip old Halo
I Lol'd when I saw Bonfire and itwasluck. Me and a buddy of mine wrecked them for about the first 5 minutes at a doubles tournament in Dallas "king of the couch". Then they came back and demolished us the rest of the the game and we took 2nd. Such great times and memories. Plz bring back Halo 2 Anniversary!
Some Guy That's true, but HDTVs did not go mainstream until the mid-2000s, mostly because they were extremely expensive. I remember my family didn't get an HDTV until 2007.
God i miss those days, waking up early on a Saturday to see the first ever Esport televised on television and its my favorite game ever. It just doesn't get any better than that
I miss my halo 2 days, I was a straight 4v4 player no team always pugged, and I was a consistent 49 to 50 at my peak but damn mlg wasn't big enough in my area so I never got to make it pro. I'm trying to find my record online, I used to be on the front page of halo leaderboard at one time. 12 hours a day sweaty try hard. Damn miss it.
You can play blow me away over anything halo 2 and it just evokes so much emotion. I never even played halo 2 back in the day I started with halo 3 so that should say something
Back then Halo was no bullshit, just good fun that everyone wanted to be apart of....... Now it just isn't the same...... Microsoft owns Halo and made that shitty Halo 4 for noobs and shit for brains....... The world has changed, games have changed, TV's are different even and I've changed too..... but competitive shooters don't have the buzz anymore...... where's the mad skills?
Youll never see games like h2 or counter strike again. Just not the same. Companies are money hungry & attacking the masses. Kids nowadays dont have that soul and tactically inclined/clutch mindset like the fellas from my gen or ours. Theyre remaking h2 for xbone but ill mail you a check bi weekly for 6 months if they bring back the bxr or quad shot. They wont do it. Were a dying breed guy.....
Nick aguado You realize the BXR, BXB, and Quad shot were not actually intended to be in the game right? Those were glitches that to players to the next level of skill. So they really cant bring it back for a few reason one they were glitches. Two Halo 2 is on an old outdated engine. Three it would become a replication which means button commands there fore anyone could do it wouldn't have the same impact. However yes the days of Halo 2 or halo being a skilled game are long over. Ive attended 6 events in the halo 2 days, 3 in H3 and none after miss those days. Last but not least yes companies are money hungry it takes a insane amount of money to produce a great AAA title. Some games push upawards 200 million just to make. So yes they want to make their money back if they didn't companies will fold and games will not exist.
***** It's true..... someone will fill the hole - there is a market...... it's just that the studios got so big that they are now looking for market research, focus group feed back and risk analysis before some corporate pussy puts their little balls on the line to make a decision.... mediocrity at it's most safe
I remember Halo 2 when it first came out I play it on the hardest lvl and I had fun with friends good time I still love Halo and now I only play the store mod
This shit hits different 10+ years later. Sad I barely played halo 2 online, halo 3 is when I become obsessed with halo. Halo was my main game up til H5 I really don’t know how I lasted that long everything from halo 4 on was complete ass. Reach with NBNS was pretty good. Gaming as a whole is trash, how do you take a game with a winning formula like halo and still fuck it up catering to new players and other games.
it's not trash, just that most people's attitudes have become rancid, cynical, and entitled.. It also doesn't help that mass amounts of the complainers never attempt or experiment creating anything of substantial value themselves leaving them in the dark about all the difficulties & tedious frustration developing even a mediocre indy game involves. Another thing people don't realize is back then there were so many janky feeling games that a good FPS game like Halo or COD stood out. Now fastforwarding 15-20 years later you have a whole sea of endless great feeling shooters and because individuals end up feeling like they're drowning in redundancy and nothing stands out or "pops" it ends up manifesting ungrateful sentiment for what they consider a new Norm.
Game developers add too much shit into OUR FPS games, Look at Halo and CoD now.. Then look at Counter strike the most populated but plain and unchanged FPS game. We don't want all this bullshit you guys add into our games..
Daniel goog Coagulations was a big map. You could have a Tank, Banshee and two smaller vehicles for each base, and then you had massive no man's land area between these bases.
If you were at these mlg tournaments and not competing in Halo 2, then you weren't at mlg at all. This was the biggest game and made MLG, now that it's gone, I rly doubt ppl even go there or support mlg teams like final boss, carbon and str8 anymore. It's just not the same. Halo 2 even had the USA channel sponsor MLG just for Halo 2, that's how big it was.
Halo 2 was what kicked off MLG, and kept getting bigger. Halo 3 was even BIGGER, but thats because of how MLG got out there and it just kept growing. Halo 2 was the favorite game and my peronsal favorite, but Halo 3 was way bigger in the MLG world.
I always found it so Ironic. Zyos was great CE player who people flocked to play with but couldn't evolve his style enough to make it in halo 2. Walshy was great at halo 2 but couldn't keep up with the changes made in halo 3 and eventually fell off. Walshy literally got Zyos'ed in halo 3 when you look back at it.
Sh0ckwave in '06 was dirty. Wonder if he and Karma will be back now that H2: Anniversary is coming out this year? I'd also like to see OGRE 1 come out of retirement. He's teased it a bit on Twitter, but being in Australia and just having a baby not too long ago will likely keep him from ever competing again in tournaments. I mean, it's not impossible to do, but he'll definitely say that that is the reason he won't come back.
Oh man, halo 2 was such a big part of my life as a youngster. I was a top ranked "super bouncer" my name was xToxic Godx . I used to literally dream of halo 2, it was such a balanced and great online game, it's a shame there are no games that give me the same feeling that halo 2 used to give me, Hit me up if you knew me within the bouncing community, I will remember your gamer tag.. I remember all of you fellow like minded glitchers ;)
