Ma'am, I have such respect and awe for you right now. To have been there to hear those words and to have been able to use them as a compass to guide you through those difficult times is an amazing thing.
"If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, sweep streets like Beethoven composed music, sweep streets like Leontyne Price sings before the Metropolitan Opera. Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well."
God please raise up another powerful leader like MLK today to preach love and unity between races, we really need this message again so badly today. God bless
That's a shame... would be nice to at least have a plaque commemorating the date and the fact that he actually walked those halls and spoke these words.
WOW, I never knew most of the quotes we know today are from this speech! Powerful and welcoming. Thank you, Dr. King for your contributions to the advancement of the human race.
"Don't allow anybody to pull you so low as to make you hate them." "Our slogan must not be 'burn baby burn' it must be 'build baby build!'" Don't hear this much anymore, unfortunately. He always kept his message positive and constructive.
Feb 4, 2022: I wish Dr. King had visited Madison Junior High in ABQ when I was a student in the late 60s. (Thank you for encouraging me.....we all love you still. I agree with you 100%.) I was raised a Catholic and landed up at Liberty University! Still waiting for God to show me the purpose of three (3) master's degrees!? Blessings in the new year! Jeremiah 29:11
My teacher went to this school she said that dr king stopped in her class and they all went wild and hugged him ! She said one of the students asked him how long would he be there and he said not long she stated he was a short guy .
A standing O for Dr. King. Self-esteem. excellence and fighting for human rights. A prescription for all of us no matter what age, color, or class. And then to keep on moving no matter how slow the progress.
One of my favorite speeches columbia University understanding economics poverty to prosperity anti poverty monies food is medicine precision nutrition UN 1966 of all the injustice the inequalities in health are thr most shocking and inhuman spoke UN Chicago
This speech is to encourage a person to start respecting himself and believe he can do whatever he/she sets their mind to do , however did he mention that Jesus is the only real help we get and we all need to focus our hearts and minds on the help and love that Jesus, our Almighty God gives freely to all people who ask Him...even this dummy writing this comment !
WHAT'S THE SADDEST THING I RELIEVED BY LISTENING TO THIS,,,,,,,,,,,*{""WE ARE STILL FIGHTING THE SAME FIGHT HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR,,,BUT WORST ""} COME ON WE ARE THE SMART ONES!!!!!!!!???????!
