Yes and my 5 yr old daughter loves playing golf with dad to “blow up the boats and buildings” in the short game practice. Starting her early and daddy daughter time is priceless. 😊
I will be sticking with using Awesome Golf for my Garmin. I think once polished the Rapsodo app will offer everything needed. Have you done any combines yet?
You have shown us Awasome golf for a long time now . First with the R10 and now with the MLM2Pro. I think it's about time yoe test GSPro on your channel . I have used both and as many other's here i choose GSPro "every day" if i have to choose one of the two systems. Both with the Garmin r10 and the Mevo+ you can get an affordable sim setup using GSPro. The simulator course playing expirence on GSPro is at a much higher level than awasome golf. Range sessions in GSPro can give you simular data as in Awasome golf via free third party apps. To run GSPro you need a game PC . If you don't have that then awasome golf is good option. But a lot of your viewers have a game PC and therfore have more options. And thanks to all your Awasome golf videos i know fore sure that GSPro is a better choice for me . Thanks... and keep up the good work.
Couple of issues with gspro. 1. They’re not an authorised Garmin app for the r10. So I can’t test it. 2. It’s not compatible with MLM2PRO yet (but I hope it is soon) 3. They don’t have a max version at all. Just PC which I don’t run

Sticking with my R10. Yes shot shape isn’t as good as mlm2pro and I don’t get the moment of impact… but R10 gives me face angle and face to path. This is essential to fix my out to in swing. Also I do a lot of short game practice on AG and given the mlm2pro doesn’t pick up shorter chips… it really is starting to feel inferior to the R10, at least to me. The $200/year just to unlock spin is just greed from Rapsodo and now hearing about disconnection issues makes it a no go. This looks like a great tool paired with a very good device. I see E6 connect is also available as a 3rd party app. Good to see there are options already in a machine that came out just 1 month ago. Do E6 connect next. One of the complaints I've heard about the native software is that the simulated courses are still somewhat cartoonie. The Awesome golf appears to improve on that but not much. E6 and GS PRo are more realistic. Good to see E6 is available.
Today I sent my MLM2 back for a full refund. Lost patience with the device. I have decided to re-buy the R10 as on reflection it's not a bad unit. It works all the time. I'm sure the new Skytrak will be the new mid priced king of LM very soon.
@@Jord_45 Look the Rapsodo team respond, but just tell you anything to keep you in the game. All in all I've not been impressed with their platform. Released too early and VERY buggy 😔 I regret selling my R10 the 1st time around
That's a real shame. I have my R10 and I still love it and I'm happy to wait while all the teething problems are ironed. Plus with the demand and supply issues it will be nigh on impossible to get hold of one in NZ in the next 6-12 months anyway. In general David Maxfield's experience with the unit has been pretty positive but I also follow Joe Lagowski and he has had a lot of connectivity issues with his unit. Looks great when working properly.
I'm not sure why everyone is so rattled about the premium subscription. If you have somewhere to hit all year round you'll get far superior practice and feedback at less cost than a driving range or simulator pub. I probably spent $500 this winter going to golf sims in cold winter climate.
It’s the fact that you have to have two subscriptions, one for the device, and one for the Sim, depending on which software use. Then they lock you out of the most crucial data, which is the spin rate so that even if you use another Simulator app, it can’t give you accurate measurements. You realistically have to factor in a 3 to 5 year cost of ownership and there’s just so much competition in the market now and who knows what’s to come. Don’t forget the balls that wear down extremely fast if you have a semi-decent club speed. Also, if this video was done in the detailed screen of awesome golf, you would see all the blank data seals that they don’t even have like attack angle face to path etc

@@TtotheP42 I've received an answer from Awesome Golf this morning. They have duplicated the issue - admit it is a problem - and are supposedly working on it with Rapsodo.
In one of your videos you reviewed the mlm2pro setup. You had a spot light behind the mlm2pro, what is the purpose for the light? Does it affect carry distances? My carry distances feel 25% short.

It would be cool if AG or Rapsodo would give the capability to dial in the distance grid for the club and shot were taking. For instance, if I'm doing short wedge work, I don't need a 200 yard grid, give me a 100 yard grid.
@@davidmaxfieldgolf right I saw that, but I mean the grid on the right. When you're in Practice mode, it has the camera on the left and grid on the right. Like you know, the grid gives you a line of your shot direction, but for wedges, I can't really see it on a 50 yard shot, because the grid is 200 yards. So I end up going to my tablet to hit the button to see the rest of the metrics.
It’s too bad they don’t even have face to path or attack angle for a $200 a year subscription that my R10 has with no subscription and pretty accurate with RCT balls. Then the million disconnects even in firmware 3, mine is 100% going back. in the fact that they will completely lock you out of the spin data if you don’t buy the subscription so that you can’t even use other apps to pull the information so basically you have to have two subscriptions. One for mlm2pro yearly and then sim software. I just wish the details screen of awesome golf was shown so that you can see all the blank spots for the data MLM does not have even R10 and memo+ have.
maybe i don’t get it? if you have a gaming computer surely gspro is a lot better than AG because of the graphics which everyone would want on there sim
Yeah virtual golf is totally lacking if that is important to you. Four made up courses, only 9 holes and my other bugbear 3 par 3s, 3 par 4s and 3 par 5s. No normal course is setup like that. It should be 4 par 4s, 2 par 3s and two par 5s. But Awesome Golf is really more about the range features and the virtual golf is just a bit of fun on the side. If virtual golf is important to you other apps like E6, GS Pro etc are the way to go.
Awesome Golf seems to have a much better range and data screen. Can that be used with the video that the MLM2 Pro is getting or is that only accessible in the MLM2 Pro app? In essence, can I use the AG range but still see the swing replay after seeing the data. Thanks!
Is it just me that thinks awesome golf is a bit light on content? 4x9 holes and a range? What makes this so popular when MLM2pro has all that plus courses in its membership? Genuine;y dont get it what am i missing?
The coaching section of awesome Golf is unbelievable. There’s not really a software on the market cheaper than $3k per year that offers that style of data and comparisons etc

Ok i know ur not Awesome Golf customer service lol but u clearly have more insight then the average joe. I have AG and R10, now I have MLM2, my question is I know I can transfer from r10 to MLM2 but can I transfer back to the R10? Is there like a transfer limit?
I'm no expert either but once you own the Awesome Golf software I'm sure there is no limit switching between devices. The Awesome Golf login bluetooth connection now offers three options, the Flightscope, R10 and Rapsodo. You own the software so it shouldn't matter which unit you choose to run it on.
Hey David. I had a question about the connection with the awesome golf and rappsodo app in regards to an iPad. Obviously I need Wi-Fi connection for internet access. If I try to connect to the mlm2pro directly from device (iPad) I have to disconnect Wi-Fi so I have no internet access. Or is there a better way?
@@davidmaxfieldgolf so awesome golf and e6 should work through the connection of the iPad directly. If the iPad is connected to my home wifi. I feel like once I connect to the iPad Wi-Fi directly with the mlm2pro it disconnects from my home Wi-Fi and I can’t use awesome golf or e6. I hope that makes sense. My problem is keeping connection to the mlm2pro and home Wi-Fi to have internet access. Jesus so confusing.
I'm torn because the unit looks amazing but paying 2 subscriptions is brutal. I hate that rapsodo is pulling that just to allow the good data which you are already paying for in the hardware
Do you have any connection issues? I feel like whenever I switch between app functions in either awesome golf or rapsodo my launch monitor disconnects and has trouble reconnecting. In awesome golf, it even does it in between holes!
@@davidmaxfieldgolf Can you use wifi on an android phone to set up (As this is only way I can connect at the moment), then use PC or Ipad for awesome golf ?

@@perlance that’s strange, just make sure you set the ball down where the Rapsodo can read it. The MLM2PRO doesn’t have a big space where it reads the ball
Yes it does. From the home screen hit the cog button in the top right hand corner and select Launch Monitor settings. I use that feature to get more accurate distances at the range using range balls.
@@davidmaxfieldgolf you said that you didn’t think everyone would get higher ball speed with draw than with a fade. You said “maybe that’s just me, since I’m more comfortable with a draw”. I’m just pointing out that actually, everyone gets higher ball speed when they hit a draw than when they hit a fade (because a draw requires a closed face and a closed face has less loft and less loft means higher ball speed).
What i have found with R10 its line of sight. The smallest fan will bug it out if line of sight is direct, even 20 ft away. I built a 4 sided box to put unit in and i can now put fan 6 inches away on the blocked side with no issues. I even found if my projector on a tripod is too close that fan bugs it too. Gotta be the magnetics from coil in fans. I built box using 1 x 12 and did top, bottom and sides. Open front and back. I use fan, heater, ect…now from the side, not front or back and no further issues. P.S. foil blocks weird signals as well. I tested on projector by covering back facing R10 and it worked. Didnt want to overheat unit so i removed and just moved forward, but it did work.

Haven’t seen that but I asked Rapsodo and there’s a patent so unfortunately I wouldn’t even want to try it. It could cause legal battles that I definitely don’t want to be in 😞
@David Maxfield Golf What gets me is they even disable spin!?!? So the RPT tech balls are for what? Just a poor product launch with an embarrassingly weak software IMHO. Great videos BTW.
@@cbsites4127 The pattern on them helps read the spin and side spin with great accuracy but you're right, it's a downside for most that the spin is not available outside the premium subscription
