@KARMAisTheUltimateBadass Eventually yes. But not before Strickland. The whole point of special forces is that they keep going and going until the enemy is dead.
I think what Strickland is missing, is the fact that they’re not training to win a fight dude they’re training to prolong their own lives and be the opposite of scared when facing adversity it’s not about being tough and throwing punches and thinking you can outdo the guy it’s not about that at all. That’s where Strickland is already losing. It’s not about being a tough fighter. It’s about being super smart and knowing when to shoot move and how to communicate and know your opponent, and the best way to take that opponent down, which is not throwing punches, it being dead tired, and completely exhausted and still be able to put a bullet in the enemies head. And still be tactician and be calm, cool and collective under fire. Maybe you should call out a Marine they would probably be better obliged to take him on.
Sean Strickland is not presenting logical arguments, he is goating a masculine subject of the population because he needs a challenger, he needs to villainize a group he thinks he can compare himself to, in order to validate his current world view and/or because he’s not mentally fit to handle this level of celebrity. He has to self destruct in order to “exit stage left,” so to speak. He didn’t come in quietly, he won’t leave quietly. Anyone who is encouraging him to act like this, or say this things is simply enabling this behavior and undoubtedly reinforcing negative outcomes. If SEALS teach us anything, it’s that one man like Sean Strickland is Zero, without his battle buddy. Sean is comparing apples to oranges here for attention.
Strickland has restrained psychopathic tendencies. In life or death it comes down to who is willing to take it to the end not unlike the meth'd out Kamikaze & SS soldiers
Navy Seals Training isn’t about being the strongest *individual.* Those people quit Seal School. The people who graduate know how to become the strongest team.
Is that right after he wakes up from getting laid out by Sean? I see everyone thinks it's brave to challenge a non seal to a firefight which is laughable but it's not ok for Sean to invite and challenge within his strength? Lmao, this is jut highlighting the lack of seals jumping up to challenge him, why? Cause they know he's right. If not theyde be lining up
@@scottwall8419 I don't think any of them would mind doing the training. But it's not about challenging it's the disrespectful attitude in doing it. None have called him out for not doing what they do, he's just got issues with other people's manhood
@@scottwall8419 "ut it's not ok for Sean to invite and challenge within his strength? " I don't dispute that Strickland is good in his own wheelhouse. Generally in real martial arts we don't spar at "your dojo", we go to a neutral place that isn't biased in favor of either of us. Plus we spar light contact. But the bottom line here is, in the Navy SEAL wheelhouse, NO, Strickland could NOT do what they do. Most humans cannot. Therefore nothing Strikland throws at them will "break" them. They might "lose" under MMA rules, but not "break" which is the term he used.
@@taragnor "Yeah unarmed combat isn't even a major focus of SEAL training." How would you know, their training is classified. I would imagine they do MMA training, because it's public that the Marine Corps does it, so it stands to reason they would do it as well. "So of course Sean wins at MMA. " Well, not if it is to the death. If it is to the submission like he's used to, then yeah, he has better chances.
@SheepDogNumbers Navy SEALS are special forces. They are part of a special operations armed force. In 1961 President John F. Kennedy called for an increase in special forces of all kinds and the NAvy SEALS were created in response to that.
Seals cant fight as well as MMA fighters? I can tell by that comment you don’t know sh!t about fighting. MMA, street fighting, and hand to hand combat in war are entirely different things. MMA is at the bottom of that. Go back to playing your video games kid. lol
This can happen, depending on the person, when you reach such a high level of tested and proven skill that you begin to think you're immortal and/or invincible. It's hard for someone to put in check such ego and narcissism when they themselves may have never been humbled...
Facts, but there are plenty of winners out there who have set the standard of excellence and humble behaviors who have come before him, so there really is no excuse. The expression, “Act like you’ve been here before” or “Act like you’ve won before” all come to mind. It’s sad, though I believe this to be a subconscious form of self-destruction. Subconsciously Sean knows he is acting unbecoming of a Champion, and potentially in his subconscious mind, he needs to be the anti-hero in order to get the desired outcome. Dude wants to fall, dude is crying for help the only way he know how - hulk smash
How about seeing how long Strickland lasts in a special forces environment, better still let's see Strickland go head to head against the Navy Seal in a combat environment
You guys keep pivoting to something he wasn't talking about. He challenged you to a fight in a non death fight. But everyone in the comments keep saying, well what a pussy, he should take the test and calling him a pussy because he hasn't done what you say. Your just highlighting that none of them will jump in the ring with him and prove him wrong or right.
I would say anyone is down to hand to hand I got 30 years MA and Boxing at 52 .But if Im passed my mailbox,,I always have a gun ,,, But these guys are both yapping how hard they are ,,, That is more physical than a gun, personally I want a ring fight , Like cops and hoses /// MMA vs Spec op both are very masculine pursuits ,, Calling it////// ,, Pound town with expected Pronouns ,, @@legion162
@@legion162 I was Navy submarines....when I worked at Goodwill taking donations, a guy I worked with was Marine Recon....he said he has PTSD from having had to stab several people to death. Marine Recon = USMC version of the SEALs....one of his duties that he could tell me about was observing bomb damage after a submarine or fighter jet attacked a target. He then had to go in and eliminate any combatants that lived through the blast. Sometimes his firearms wouldn't work in the sand or ran out of ammo, so the USMC expected and required him to use his knife.
Uuumm.. people die and receive long time severe injuries in MMA all the time dude. I see what you're getting it but thats just a weird statement. Nothing "entertaining" about abusing your body on a daily basis for the end goal of fighting another person.
Your goal as a mma fighter is not trying to kill the person it’s trying to win sometimes severe injuries happen. You have a ref to stop the fight, you can throw in the towel, you can tap out, it’s a sanctioned fight, it’s not the same as getting shot ten times or getting blown up, they are not comparable. Also how do you not believe fighting isn’t entertainment? Why do people place bets on fights?why is it broadcasted on TV? Why do people pay money for a seat to watch? Why is it advertised at all? The UFC one championship, Glory, it’s all entertainment, some people like to take risks compete with each other, that’s why people do it, because it’s satisfying.
@@demiurgeobzen327 People suffer severe injuries or die during snowboarding. A bit of a difference between doing a sport that may harm you and going out behind enemy lines and getting Laden or dying trying.
This guy is not going to “break” guys that jump from airplanes at 30,000ft, launch from submarines 2 miles from shore, carry 90lbs rucks for 20 miles through jungle, and kill people like it’s another slow Tuesday… Guy is a skilled fighter, but a clown in comparison.
@@ethanswimmer1287 "s. Sean would destroy the best navy seal on earth in less than 3 minutes" Submit them yes. But not kill them. Especially not after he just swam ashore from deployment on a submarine and then ran to where the enemy was. You guys keep forgetting, the SEALs don't just fight. Especially with a username like "swimmer" you should understand, swimming is a big part of what the Navy SEALs do. They jump or swim, then run, THEN fight, usually with guns first. But if their guns fail or run out of ammo, if the situation calls for knife only, they use that.
Strickland would almost definitely beat a SEAL in MMA, because it's all Strickland specializes in. Unarmed combat isn't even a primary focus of the SEALs, especially not sport-style unarmed combat. Soldiers realize that guns and knives are better weapons than fists.
I think Strickland is a terrible person, but, in a cage or ring I'll take the guy who trains for it. Military men train for so much more than hand to hand combat that they can't possibly be on the level of an mma champion. Sean ONLY trains hand to hand combat. Being incredibly fit, doesn't mean your chin doesn't get caught
He should shut his mouth before it’s too late. He’s going to need something to keep him busy when he’s older and opening a gym right off post is one of the best financial moves he could make 😂😂
Sean Strickland just acts like that because of his childhood trauma, and was never thought to act "good". And he only talks like that, he doesn't take his words seriously
his claim was that he would "break" them. You can't "break" a Navy SEAL. They waterboard those guys, to prepare them in case the enemy captures them. (or so I heard; I was submarines, I didn't have need to know on everything they're trained to do.) Remember what the SEALs do, a lot of it is not athletic, it's mental. Strickland, like you said, is a terrible person. No reason to think he has that mental resilience that SEALs have to have.
As a person who was in several classes with kids who had behavioral disorders I am amazed how much people read into the stuff he says. Kids like Sean were the guys you learn to ignore really fast because if you feed the fire he'd embarrass both. Hes been open about having been diagnosed with a conduct disorder. My parents told you'll always look crazy arguing with crazy people.
I used to be a member of the Parachute Regiment in UK. Strickland's comments annoy me, to be honest. UFC fighters beat up one fighter, in a fight. SF Personnel kill enemy combatants, that's the difference between Civvies and Military.
I also served in the British Army, Strickland isn't talking about SHOOTING enemy combatants. He is speaking about fitness! Speaking of the Navy Seals, they are at the UK R.M. and Para Reg and not equal to tier 1 SF (SAS/PARA Reg). Unfit people can shoot and kill others in combat without being fit, (Taliban, Islamic radicals)...so stop putting we fight in combat, as I have communicated STRICKLAND calls out SEALS fitness not their combat arms fighting prowess!
Much respect to you but how often do SF have one on one's? In training and in combat?? Nit too often and a majority will honestly tell you they don't like and avoid it! I'll take an MMA guy everytime
@user-lj8lb4iy1u He said he'd break them. Any sensible service member from any country should know that's bull. Strickland wants to break others because his Dad broke him. It'd be sad if he wasn't such a douche about it.
There are a lot of guys out there who have a beef with the military. I think it goes to the fact that they never served and they dont like the fact that the Veteran gets a certain amount of respect that they don't, and their own masculinity is threatened. I saw this a lot in BJJ.
A lot of people specifically don't the Seals because so many of them have become huge podcasters and are constantly in the media that it feels like they joined the force in order to write a book lol. Not true of course, but that's why some people seem to have beef with them while no one talks shit about Green Berets or Delta Force.
@@Kagemusha08nah, make no mistake, Strickland has a problem with all of us who served. This isn't a service rivalry thing. We need to stick together against people like that.
@@neutrino78x😂you forget even the no rules apply to fighters. They 😂 won't just follow the MMA Rules in a street fight. A trained fighter in a street fight will beat anyone in a hand to hand combat.
Fighters can kill each other that's why there are refs to protect them. Now in a street fight there's no ref so a trained fighter can literally manhandle you like a kid no matter you're navy seal , strongest men in the world or whatever
Why won’t Sean just take the seal test?? He would fail, guaranteed. All that childhood trauma coming back when he’s put under water until he loses consciousness
@@CornPop2 They do plenty of training and have their own sparring partners and "in house" fights. They also do close quarter training with weapons. If I had to choose between a cage fighter or a SF person to fight, I'm choosing the cage fighter every time. I'm not messing around with a SF dude.
Fighting for money and fame is different to Fighting for your life. Hand to hand combat is irrelevant in modern conflict. Individual strength of body is meaningless in modern combat, Strength of character, teamwork and discipline is what really matters. MMA is a sport, that's it. Nothing more and nothing less.
Do this ....one week Navy Seal training for Strickland, one week MMA training for Goggins or any other Seal that's willing. It would be interesting to see the outcome.
Mr Strickland is playing a serious game in a controlled and well rehearsed environment. He needs to have his next fight after spending weeks in the wilderness, little food, very little sleep and an unknown number of enemies hunting you while simultaneously completing your mission no matter the cost, then he will have a little understanding of whats required of Elite operators and servicemen. Courage comes from knowing the real world danger, confronting that danger and completing your objectives in the face of that danger. Courage in a controlled fight environment while impressive has little comparisons to Elite military actions in the real world.
Goggins is just one of many tier 1&2 operators and believe me there is some beasts in the spec ops family that make goggins look small, they just remain quiet, like they should
You can say you were in a unit that did classified operations. You just can't talk about said operations. For example the fact that I served on submarines is not classified, and I can talk about daily life. I just can't talk about our operations.
@@Banjolip "k , so whats your point?" Point is, we are allowed to say we were in such units. Navy SEAL veterans aren't putting anything at risk by saying they did that. Above, you implied that we can't discuss our service if we were involved in classified stuff. We still can, we just can't talk about those operations.
David Goggins is mentally tough, who takes training seriously, if he knows shin conditioning he would've had the hardest shins in the world. David Goggins is like Khabib in terms of toughness and discipline. Strickland is one of the best UFC fighters, and he emphasizes on fighting, no gun training, no weapon training, and no navy seal training. Strickland can fight, and he has childhood trauma, which can change you, and can build character. Navy seals can kill people, MMA fighters are not trained to kill. Goggins can kill him with a pencil, and throw him out the octagon. Navy seals are dirty fighters, and MMA fighters are fair fighters. I respect both the guys.
I've personally witnessed 3 professional athletes walk through elite military training. One was an Olympic wrestler who turned into a paratrooper, one was a professional soccer player and turned into a pathfinder, and obviously everyone knows Tillman, but I was in the class right after him. None of them had any difficulties. However....Sean is straight trolling everyone. Chael Sonnen recognizes his game. It's amazing how many will take the bait. It's brilliant. Controversy sells and Sean is laughing all the way to the bank.
@neutrino78x @neutrino78x oh stop. I'm done arguing with you. You're a vet. You're proud. Don't let your pride cloud your judgement. Like I said, Sean is trolling you. Get mad if you want. He wins.
@@neutrino78x you think I'm a Trump supporter. Your argument is painfully invalid. Where did that even come from??? I've literally never seen someone forfeit an argument so quickly
@@Mastermindyoung14 "you think I'm a Trump supporter." I know you are. Anybody who supports Strickland would support Trump. It's cut from the same cloth. Unfortunate that you won't stand with us when someone is insulting all of us.
One enters a fight to knock out/submit his opponent. The other enters a fight to end his opponents life as expeditiously as possible. They are not the same.
Anyone in the SF community will tell you they can’t fight hand to hand anywhere near the level of a pro mma fighter. 90% of their training is firearms based. They can definitely fight better than most, but not at the level of someone who does it professionally.
Yep! spar for 15 minutes?? MMA is a sport with rules. A real fight would be over within a few seconds. Now....teach REAL hand to hand to a MMA fighter and I am sure he would be a formidable opponent.
I absolutely love your content, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal at the age of 52 and was forced to resign my Captain’s bars after flying Boeing jets for 30 years. 330 rounds of chemotherapy, 25 days of targeted radiation, surgically disemboweled, near death experience, many close calls and six years later I’m still in the fight. No man can comprehend what God has prepared for this who love him. 1 Corinthian’s 2:9 . Your future self will thank you for not giving up 💪✌️🇺🇸
If you are gonna call someone out, call them out in their line of work. Strickland will most likely win in mma fight, but isn't gonna win a war vs Goggins.
I'd take Navy training instead of MMA because I think the mindset of not knowing when a battle will end is very real, compared to being timed 5 minutes a round
I trained in mma with my brother around 15 years ago we would spar in an order of first to 3 submissions, I recall on some sessions the first sub took at least 45 minutes, we loved smashing the crap out of each other I was 40 at the time he is 8 years my Junior, great rivalry and great memories
Strickland doesn’t understand that he trains to win. Seals train to survive. Strickland does worry about being killed in the ring. Seals deal with the fear of death regularly. Sean… you’re a great fighter. You cannot break a seal. If you even get close they will likely try to kill you… literally.
Their training also include disaster response, first aid, leadership, managrment and organization etc. Its not just fighting or killing people. Sean is just making these videos to keep himself relevant
Im pretty sure, no I'm positive....there is a video of Strickland sparring with a big fella and practically crying about a wrist lock he was placed in. He needs to try out hell week.
Sean Strickland challenging Goggins in mma is like LeBron challenging Tom Brady in 1v1 Basketball. If they pick something in middle ground Goggins will take Stricklands soul
Challenge him to a reading competition with a 20 page book review and let’s see how long Sean can keep his cool in Adobe acrobat or Microsoft Word 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Incredible advice! ( as always) I really like the elimination of timed rounds. That is so true and would be an incredible mental as well as physical training staple.
Its like a sprinter calling out someone that does triathlons or decathlons. Sean is a great fighter but he's calling out guys that are training to be great in multiple things not only focused on fighting
Pretty disturbing stuff no matter which angle you look at it from. Why anybody would celebrate the idea of being able to take someone's life and be indifferent about it while another would celebrate the actual experience of taking someone's life and be indifferent about it are incomprehensible to me. Bruh. F***ing lunacy.
Strickland seems to be traumatised from his childhood and all his bully behaviour is just copying mechanism. The dude has like one line life philosophy; “if you can’t beat the crap out of people you are not a man”.
Let’s make this clear. UFC fighters train to fight with safety regulations ( tapping out. Referee etc. ). Special forces ( seals. Recon marines. Green barete. ) train to KILl. Well said.
Everyone has a huge hurdle in their lives to overcome but only a small percentage will go head on with that struggle. It’s like the group that shows up for SEAL training. They might start out with 30 willing members but many will tap out and only a few will remain. That’s the same with the struggle in your life, many will have the same struggle but only a few will make it through. Be the one that makes it through. Those are the important challenges, there’s no award ceremony and most won’t even notice your accomplishments but yet when you are at the finish line you will be a transformed warrior.
I know a several SF guys and no mma fighters personally. I know a lot of martial artists that are as tough as any other human that there is but the biggest difference between someone like Sean and them is he has a job that requires shit talking as its part of the show for the most part however there are those that do that as regular Joe's too. The whole intention is to place doubt into someone else's mind. When that doesn't work and the other stays calm and doesn't git them the reaction that loud mouth wants, they just walk away. I know Sean is great at what he does, but I think he is bothered that he hasn't gotten a pissed off reply from the SEAL community like he expects.
Sean Strickland is a talented fighter. That being said…he runs his mouth like a junkyard dog. It’s actually too much. It’s going to get him in trouble one day. Strickland is what you call a “psychopath”.
Strickland may have no filter, but it is obvious to most he is an egomaniac, what he needs to understand there is always someone out there who is bigger, faster, harder, and hungrier, just without the big mouth and huge ego.
This is a side affect of having concussions from get hit in the head over and over with training, sparring, and in actual physical fighting…. This is a serious issue with combat, contact sports, when a athlete like this mma fighter the UFC should take him out and get him look at for his own wellbeing . Great video and pointing out there is more than just challenging Navy Seals ✌🏼
Sean is ridiculously silly here. It’s making him look ridiculous and going from a guy that seemed like a great crowd pleaser, to a guy that’s become a bit of an ass.
I personally think it’s Sean wanting to get in with these guys. So he is trying to push them so they will invite him into their circle. He admires them and wants to consider himself under the same terms
Strickland talks about training first off all and that actually means he definitely doesn’t think before he speaks,a soldier of any level (in an organised army) has definitely been trained beyond what they originally believed they could handle physically and if they’ve been through an actual war they’ve been tested mentally beyond doubt. As for fighting with weight classes, rules, bells buzzers referees, spaces (Octagon, ring or dojo) Strickland will definitely be expected to handle himself as a professional.
Sean must have been punched in the head too many times. Soldiers, not to mention special forces soldiers who have seen actual combat and war are infinitely tougher than mma fighters.
Come on guys. Strickland is just being a showman. I know he will be a very nice person once he is standing face to face with Goggins or the navy seals. He just wants to train with them.
In an octagon I would bet maybe 70 to 30 on Strickland; In a combat situation, I would bet 1000 to 1 on the Navy SEAL. Furthermore, in ANY emotional or strategic situation, I would bet against Strickland.
I think it's all been said in here. I like the fact that Strickland calls out a lot of soft wannabe's online, the "influencers" and others who aren't tough in real life and are mostly just a mouth. Thats good, we need that. However in this case he's bit off more than he can chew. SEALS are going to view his training as nothing more than gym time. He's not going to break them, they're not in that mentality. Every win is a win, and every loss sparing is just learning time. If Strickland wants to really put his money where his mouth is and show us all how great he is, he should train in their world. Let him do hell week. That's the minimum. I think he'll be able to push through it but it will definitely change him.
