Removed scenario from the English versions of MMBN6! This is EXE6 and is not an addition to MMBN6! Credits: Translation - HeatMan, Marina Work - Greiga Master Etc.- DjangoDX, MegaRockReborn, Prof.9, MidniteW
@@GreigaSP No, it's because the crossover related to Boktai 3, which never released outside of Japan. So...I guess it's because it felt wrong to have a crossover outside of Japan be related to a Japan-only game? I really don't know. Maybe it was copyright, but if it was, they never told us.
@@swampert564 it is about the time and resources to translate it, really, not space. Most of the time, side-content like this won't be transported during translation because they have a short deadline and prefer to rather focus on the main story.
Megaman: Will we meet again? Django: Of course! *at Kojima's headquarters* Kojima: meet again, sorry, i thought you said, get replaced, and then discontinued.
In all fairness, Django's story ended with Boktai 3 and Battle Network ended with 6. It's entirely possible they met more in the future and we just didn't see it. They already met four times between Battle Network 4, Boktai 2, Boktai 3, and Battle Network 6. The real shame is Aaron and Lucian meeting Geo once or twice, with both meetings not being shown to international audiences despite both their games being brought overseas, and then never being mentioned again.
Damn, this brings back fond memories of the time I was 12 and was playing boktai and MMBN every day...I am glad to see this crossover translated, since it was clearly stupid of capcom not including it in the english version...you know what? I am gonna start from MMBN and Boktai 1 and replay all of these awesome games. AND this time I will finally play the final crossover!
If i remember correctly The boktai series was a game created by kojima himself and the cartridge had a solar panel-like act as the ammo on the game forcing you(the player) to bath your GameboyA on the sun to reload your gun
If I were in charge, I would push for an anime reboot with a good studio(use some old opening songs Be somewhere and maybe some new ones) with a plot that follows the game's better. A remaster of each game, in a collection on the switch. Anime cinematics for cut scenes, updated graphics, and voice actors. If the MMBN anime would do well I'd then push for a StarForce anime with mixed elements of the games and the show. Then release a remastered SF 1-3, while I think that series wrapped up well for Geo, I'd try and focus on a different character for a sequel to close out the Duo threat that would come around that time, and have his or her own story be the second half of that series with Geo as a secondary lead.
Django's so talkative in the Megaman games when he barely utters a word in his actual source material... it's a crossover, I know, but is there any indication of it being in actual continuity with the Boktai games?
yeah he is, i'll give you that, but really, in these games, he's such a chatter box. It's actually refreshing to see him so energetic. i just found it unexpected
Kettz well in Boktai 2/Zoktai you can Purify ShadeMan.EXE on NG+, you even get the MegaBuster and Armor, so yes, it seems the Continuity accepts them from both sides, even if you don't play the same scenario from both sides
The Japanese ROM should be translated fully. Most of the game can be copypasted from the English release, but this and the missing undernet/graveyard areas and giga chips need to be played.
chilly raptor forums.therockmanexezone.com/topic/8886349/1/ Unfortunately only Faltzer version was translated and the patch doens't work on Greiga version (I tried it)...
"Boktai is not selling well. Better remove all traces of it by mutilating Battle Network 6!" Genius. Srsly tho, thanks for uploading. I've always been curious about this.
Supposedly, english text takes up more space than Japanese, and they did include all those special bbs quests without needing an e reader But yeah, I wish immortal area was in english bn6
Oh, fans have been dreaming about this for years! This is great c: I remember the old times in MMBN hacking when we used to think this couldn't be done.
His name is the Count in the English games. However, it is still possible in EXE 6 to get the Count's battlechip (Although you'll experience errors with the chip). The Count's battlechip was translated as 'Hack Jack' as a transliteration of Hakushaku.
Should've known I wasn't the first to think of a character who can weaponize his own blood directly. Ah well. To think you've gotten so far with only 140 HP and no other Crosses than Spout! Not that it matters much in a video like this, but I always feel like Crosses are so worth getting in these games (one of my favorite features, really).
That translation of the Count's Battle Chip..... Is curious they used "Hakushaku" direct translation of the word "Count" to change it to "HackJack" Cuirous indeed
Six years late but... Since Boktai 3 was never coming to the states, and this stuff is linked directly to Boktai 3, I’m guessing they removed the content just because of the link.
Akid Ibrahim it’s a single game titled Lunar Knights in America, and it was a one off. Didn’t have any of the same characters, tho it did have the same archetypes.
By the time when MMBN6 was released in US, the Boktai series' popularity in America sank and Capcom was afraid, that putting the Boktai elements will destroy the sales of the game as well.
im back here again, hopefully MMBN Legacy collection will have this! because If Gregar & Falzar & Double Beast Chips are in... then they should boktai sidequest too!
I have never played mmbn6 so I'm a little confuse. Based on the comments did Capcom not translate this scene in the English version or did they just remove this scene entirely?
I wish they would bring back Mega man battle network also would be a good idea to get all the battle networks available to download in the shop for 3ds with all secret content for the games like this..
Why the fuck was this removed!? I haven't even heard of Boktai before, but I wasn't confused by anything in the video. There was absolutely no need to bastardize the game like this. Just imagine if Marth, Roy, and Lucas were taken out of Super Smash Bros just because most western audiences hadn't heard of them before. Capcom... God, you guys were idiots in 2005. And you've only gotten worse. MUCH worse.
If you haven't heard of Boktai then you have no reason to get like this. This scenario and boss is a tie-in with Boktai 3, which game did not get localized. Konami was probably the one that asked to take it out since there was no reason to cross advertise each other. This issue carried on to Lunar Knights because Konami tried so hard to remove certain tie-ins to Boktai.
MidniteWv4 Just because the advertising would be lost on North Americans doesn't mean that content, the stuff customers pay for, should be stripped away like that. And besides, Boktai related stuff still remains in the game anyways (the poster in Lan's room comes to mind). So unless Konami had to pay extra for the stuff to reach North America, there really isn't any good reason for chips and a boss to be removed. And if Konami really was persistent on removing content, how hard would it have been to change a couole sprites? Turn the count into Shademan snd Django into some sort of sun Navi. Bam, done.
Commander6444 The remaining Boktai stuff was confusing. Maybe because it isn't exactly using the copyrighted characters? The Gun Del Sol is an object and the Django pictures look vague in pixel art. They probably had the material translated already since there's leftover text of the Count fight, as well as Konami credited. So someone did pull out at the last second. And the last part, it WOULD be hard because it would require a time, effort and many people.
MidniteWv4 I recently hacked the game and I found all these chips and was like da fuq? All three Django chips do not work but the program advance still works, that shows how late it was pulled. For the count I understand why he was pulled as how it is related to blood and such, though they kept the side story with Django for BN4 and the gundelsol EX still works so they planned for that one to be found and used (likely from gold mystery data or they just never found a place to put it). In all honesty I am normally not a person to support censorship but to hit the target audience (10-14) they needed either E or E10+ but, I do wish they would re-release all BN games packed together with everything that they had taken out.
chilly raptor they didnt take out the count of ground soaking blood because of the blood they took out the whole scenario due to the fact that 3rd (and greatest) boktai (sabata's counterattack) game was never going to be released outside of japan, because outside of japan the games didnt do well sales wise. it is truly a shame because the 3rd game was amazing much better than the first 2. anywho apart from this scenario being removed they also removed the crossover battle option, which is just like in bn5 where you fight shademan with megaman and django respectively, here the count would have been the target.
as long as i wished mmbn series still going i think this was a great way to end the series. But i would like a collection of mmbn on my steam library and being able to play against other net battlers around the world :>
It stunned an enemy and damaged them while they were on it and you were doing the Sunlight Charge. It greatly increased item drop rates of enemies killed with it, so it's extremely useful for farming items.
Capcom seems to have a love-hate relationship with Mega Man. As soon as it does too well, they find some new way to punch it in the balls. Remove a decent postgame quest because the crossover source material is flagging in Japan? Why not let Americans in on the mix? Boktai is awesome! You harness the power of the freaking sun and fight vampires!!
