I have the original MN99S, seriously under powered. My nephew melted the transmission running in the tall grass. I upgraded to the single speed metal one, and it is really noisy. But, at least it runs again. To shed weight, I installed the half cab roof. And I like the new bead-lock tires. They are more scale and look less toyish. Great review, and I love your indoor course! Liked and subscribed! Cheers!
Thank you, I agree the old one is underpowered. I change out the battery and electronics on the old version to a 2S Lipo (50C) and it made a big difference in performance but it runs HOT! The new one does have a larger motor, but the electronics are the same. I am liking the new tires, they preform better and look better. I have the metal gear box, I have yet to install or make a video on that. Coming soon! I hope to figure out how to make it quieter.
Hope you enjoy it! The metal suspension links are different between the version. But the new version plastic ones are just fine, they don’t have the slop the old version had. The Shocks should work out just fine.
The switch being low to the ground also happened to me in the MN82, I was crossing over a tree root over and it shut off. I thought I blew up the motor or receiver or something but it luckily it was just that. Other than that, so I think there are 4 version of this thing now, the earliest non-porpotional with 130 motor, the non-propotional one with 260 motor, the propotional with 260 motor and now propotional with 280 motor..
You are correct. I think of all the versions this is the first big redesign. The other versions were just building on the same platform. This one has an entirely new frame, suspension, drive train, and the servo on the axel is a big one too. Luckily the switch is an easy fix.
@@hobbykita5193 they are a bit different. The top links are not as close together at the axel end. But the connection method where the screw strip looking at them wrong are still there.
i realy liked the new version, but i live in Brazil, i tried to buy, but is so expensive because of taxes, the item custs more than 50 dol, the price goes up 92%
The new version is a nice upgrade. Man 92% is a bit difficult. Maybe the MN82 is within reach. It’s a nice little truck as well. Lots of upgrades and tinkering on that one too.
@@yGustaSadzinn It already has a larger motor, not quite the 370. The gearbox and mount is different as well as the location of the drive shafts. Based on that I would say no. You would want to wait for their new versions of 2 speed transmissions. I have noticed that by changing out the battery to a LiPo 50c pack I got a bunch more low end power, but the top speed did not change.
