@dilxc Wei Wuxian of the Yunmeng Jiang Clan and Lan Wangji of the Gusu Lan Clan are the main couple. There are five great cultivation clans: Yunmeng Jiang, Qinghe Nie, Lanling Jin, Gusu Lan, and Qishan Wen. A war happens and a LOT of characters die, including Wei Wuxian (this isn't exactly spoilers because it leterally starts with them screaming "Wei Wuxian is dead!") but he is brought back to life. From then on, he would solve the mysteries of his past with Lan Wangji by his side. The romance is just right, though it mostly starts with Wei Wuxian teasing Lan Wangji. But it gets jucier by the chapter. The donghua and live are bombarded with censorship so bromance (well not really for the donghua, they got away with a lot and I love them for that), manhua too but not so much considering the Pheonix Mountain (you'll find out once you read it). But the novel, it is a masterpiece and you won't regret reading it.

Wei Ying life is just too sad to handle. Since the beginning. Losing his parents, living on the streets, then losing his adoptive parents, being partially responsible for killing his brother-in-law and his sister, leaving his nephew orphaned, damaging his brotherhood with Jiang Cheng to the point of no return, giving up his golden core and having to recur to dark arts just to be critized by all the clans for it, rescuing elders, women and children, growing found of them just in time to watch them all being killed, specially Wen Ning and Wen Qing. He died and not even then he found peace. He was resurrected just to find out that 13 years later, he's still being hardly judged and everything is magically his fault. This series is a masterpiece but it's not for the weaks of heart. I'm deeply grateful for Wangji and how he've always stood up for Wei Yuxian. I honestly think that if it wasn't for Lan Zhan, he would have lost his sanity long time ago.

people sleep on the fact of how depressed Wei Ying was, it hurts seeing this because it really does show the only one there for him when we was alive, was Lan Wanji, it always has been and it always will be
God. 'It's not too late. I can still save you.' the sentiment that was expressed by Lan Wangji for so long even much, much past what most people would have considered safe or healthy or sane, when he still thought he could do whatever he must to preserve Wei WuXian from a worse reputation, prevent him from death, Wangji was willing to really go as far as it took. I love them so much.
Seeing this hurt so much. Whenever I rewatch it just hits me so hard. Seeing Wei Ying grin so innocently and wide flying on his sword. His innocence and his amazing smile died the night of the destruction of Lotus Pier. So tragic. It also breaks my heart thinking about how young they both are. In that scene where Lan Zhan catches Wei Ying in Nevernight city, you can see how young he still looks. Wei Ying looks older, because of all the misfortune and heartbreak he had to endure. They were barely 19 before he died. It just tears me apart 😢
Wei Ying has suffered so much, which makes his deep compassion and desire to protect others so heart-warming. And as the one person he never looks out for is himself, it is good that Lan Zhan is there to protect and carry him. Thank you for your hard work collecting all these wonderful moments.
its been years since i first found out about the series and decided to read the novel and then the drama, later the donghua and manhua. but let me tell yall one thing about the entire story as someone who has studied literature of all kinds: this is a masterpiece. it really is. ive never been more moved or touched by any other story my entire life as much as ive been hurt over and over with wei ying's story. (this could partly apply to xie lian and tgcf too but mdzs was my first and will always have a special place in my heart). it hurts me so bad every time i see wei ying suffer like its my own pain. another thing with the novel is the story of song lan and xiao xingchen, that is hands down one of the most traumatising and heartbreaking stories ive ever come across, and trust me when i say i have read *A LOT*. my bachelors degree is on russian literature (and language) so i read russian literature all my life and still, im yet to see another story as heartwrenching as theirs. idk, im just too invested in everything in mdzs that it honestly drives me crazy and makes me wanna cry my heart out every single time. ik its been a long comment... so, sorry for those who has read it so far and also thanks for reading it all ^^
Isn't Wei Wuxian really representative of each one of us? Who gets through life without pain? Who is never hurt by the jealousy and hate of others? Pain that literally scars your soul? On the other hand, don't we usually have at least one person in our corner? One person who (maybe foolishly) believes in us and supports us? Doesn't it usually fall upon our own shoulders to figure out life's complexities and learn the art of forgiveness for ourselves and others? I love your comment, it's nice to know I'm not so foolish to covet the true love of these two and they inspire me to want to be as solid as Lan Wanji in my own relationship in real life.

oh, you know, just returning to this for the dozenth time for a good cry, it deserves awards, 22K likes is criminal for the masterpiece that it is, my god, my god. this is the only AMV -- for any fandom -- that I've ever not only watched to completion, but then saved and returned to. it is a gorgeous and moving encapsulation of the donghua's storytelling, of WWX's pain, the beauty of LWJ's silent dedication, and the IMMENSE emotional pay-off we get from Wangxian finally coming together, when LWJ finally shows his warmth and stands by WWX in the open. on top of that, the way you seamlessly edited together all the mirroring of their past and present would be enough to bring me to tears by itself. the only inaccuracy here is your pinned comment that 'it's not perfect.' I could never pick a favorite moment, but I do love that you ended with the umbrella shot -- how LWJ shelters him, then WWX joins hands to move the umbrella so that they're *both* sheltered, aaahhhhhhh, it's everything. thank you, so so much, for this tribute to them 💙
Recently finished the donghua series. And I have to say, you did a remarkable job in the transitions between the scenes Man lan zhan x Wei wuxian are just phenomenal. Not many pairings that I love aren’t canonically well written like this. Hualian are also on that list of pairings that are just phenomenal.
Even in 2024, I'm still devouring MDZS. I can't get enough of this, no matter how many times I watch it or read Novel. And both this story and this music go along like clockwork. This music seems to be designed for this.
This is such a beautiful video, all the heart warming and wrenching emotions come through together with this song. The animated version was really good even though they left some of the things out that would have made it even better, but one has to understand that censorship was at hand. @@AFV87 explicit s*x content and lgbt stuff is censored by the chinese gov, so the animation and the live action drama were not allowed to display any of that. But the novels and the chinese manga have that in them. You can look up Mo Dao Zu Shi uncensored if you are curious, the s*x scenes are quite wild though. But tbh, after all the tragedy these 2 went through, they deserve the passion.
when you know the story about lan zhan parents, his word "i want to bring someone back to gusu, bring him back and hide him" will hit you harder. lan zhan father fell in love with their mother at first sight, but she doesnt love him back. for unknown reason, she killed one of lan zhan father teacher, he was too in love with her to see her got her punishment (as in death punishment) so he married her and bring her back to gusu to protect her, telling everyone that if they want to harm her they need to get passed him first. their love story was very similar to wangxian. lan zhan want to bring wei ying so he could protect him like his father protect his mother
When ever lan zhan says “Wei Ying!” i get chills and start feeling bad for Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. They both deserve to be happy and Mxtx did let them be happy in the end❤️

MXTX working for MDZS is very incredible and amazing...until now I couldn't find any good match stories similar to this... The plot is interesting. All characters are valuable and especially the role and situation of WWX can depicted in reality and there is very precious lesson we could learn from it. From love and sacrifices and the need to move forward even if u passed the darkest road that shaming u over and over again...with one person staying by your side who always believes in u ,stay with u and love u is sometimes the ray of light guiding u to the path of salvation and happines ...😘😘😘😘thanks MXTX for MDZS..

This whole anime mames me wanna cry. I feel so freaking bad for WWX. He didn't deserve the things that he got. He's one of the purest souls ever, and he lost almost everything, and he barely reached 20. Nothing makes me more grateful than having LWJ exist. Logically speaking, by the way WWX went through so much pain, got hated by society, and killed. Only to be resurrected and go through the same pain again. Dont get me wrong, but i just wanna give him a hug 😭 And the fact that WWX only realized LWJ's love for him was real when he got resurrected is just- This anime is the saddest one I've seen, because all I feel like im watching is a young guy going through the same trauma over and over again. But this anime is freaking great. And I wanna hug WWX so badly 😭 Like LWJ needs to step aside cuz its my turn 😤
After many years still stuck with them,still stuck with wondering how no one like NO ONE acknowledged wei ying's loss,pain,grief,agony nothing they just saw what they were made too and never thought of knowing the truth,every character's pain was acknowledged except him, that's why we love him sooo much,he suffered for being good,kind,free. People throughout showed how fickle and bnoxious they could be, till the end wei ying was wronged but atlast he had someone for his entire life now after losing so many people still i can't but feel bad about many other characters though who were good but were so manipulated into believing wei ying was bad,their own pain made them blind but its the karma i guess

Every time I see these two, I feel something inside me stirred I really don't know what feeling it is.... The story of these two all makes my heart a mess .I really don't understand... it's a feel that is... I just don't know how to express it, I don't remember when, but at some point of my life I got addicted to these two..there story is something makes me feel alive and grateful that I came around such thing... The heartbreak and hate Wei Wuxian went through for just trying to good by his family and friends. Ended being hated by all but one person. Lan Zhan. This video matches so well with the song. I watched this series recently and i almost screamed at the screen when Wei Ying refuses to go with Lan Zhan after the deaths of the Core snatcher guy and the Wen son. It was so clear that Lan Zhan loves Wei Ying so much and he wanted to protect him, but due to his previous life, Wei Ying was mistrusting. The pain in Lan Zhan's eyes was so heartbreaking. Lan Zhan would stand against the world just to protect and take care of Wei Ying. Sort of: if hurting you and blaming you for everything is right, i choose to be wrong. My heart felt better when i learned that they get married and finally can be more at peace and share the love they have for eachother.
