My daughter has been watching Moana non stop for the last month+, I know the entire soundtrack by heart. This is just what I needed, soundtrack is nothing but bangers - and this just made it into my rotation lol
that's such a huge honor, thank you!! i just watched it for the first time a month ago and i couldn't get this song out of my head haha, such a great soundtrack (and movie!)
It’s the last great Disney movie, in my opinion, and every song is incredible. This was an amazing cover and my brain will probably default to it when ever that ear worm starts to turn
Close your eyes. You're in 2004, at a vans warped tour in your city of choice. There's a band opening for Fall out Boys and they're about to play this killer anthem.
Some people cover songs, others remaster them in their own way…. Your production is on point, your drummers sticking techniques are pretty good, holding the back of the sticks with his ghost notes just ripping through the segment, not bad. As usual, everybody is on point. Your guitarist, Vocalist, bass player, all of it, I wouldn’t change a thing. Excellent. These subtle points of impact and explosive productions prove that you probably have a pretty good writing and production process. I hope you guys write originals too. Everything you do has purpose, reason, impact, and precision. You’re going places.
If Jonathan Young can do a whole album just of himself doing Disney villain covers where he turns them into death metal demons, there's no reason you can't do a full album of emo Disney covers. This is next-level amazing.
Man I freakin love JoYo 🖤 my goal is to do at least an EP’s worth of emo Disney ‘i want’ songs haha, they’re so much fun to do! Stoked you’re enjoying them
@@toddbarriage : If you'd like to take a stab at it, I can get you the lyrics at least to "Less Stress" from Camelorum Adventures, which is Emily's ironic "I DON'T Want" song, that's supposed to sound like a Save Ferris or Reel Big Fish ska tune, and was created specifically to parody the concept of a Disney Princess "I Want" song. It's her finding various ska-friendly ways of saying: "I'm out to explore the world now. Screw being cooped up! Screw responsibility! I'm free!" It's ironic, because she sings it right before she gets arrested for being involved with the Jens when they destroyed the fountain, then fleeing the scene. Sure, Candace "Lemon Witch" Mason becomes a huge scene stealer, but I gave the song to Emily. Camelorum was the direction fully endorsed by Prodigal-Gamer on DeviantArt, right up until Ihrina in Romania accepted payment from him to make "The Pickle Jar," which replaced Emily with Mickey Pickle, and threw out the wacky Cheshire Pig and space alien cartoon mischief stuff in Camelorum in exchange for a more traditional women's prison comedy. Even so, if you'd like to try to make a tune and emofication of"Less Stress," just let me know.
love u thank u appreciate u love u again 💙 yeah this video’s doing okay!! it’s sagging pretty hard rn but it’s 4am which AIN’T EXACTLY PEAK VIEWING HOURS
You fill me with the decayed hope of subtle tragedy that pervaded us all in the MySpace days Btw, is Kala doing alright? Haven't heard from him in a while
purpose: granted 🥹 & yeah he’s good!! he hates social media and content creation (same tbh) so he’s still been working on music, making the best stuff he possibly can, playing shows in Japan, very exciting stuff is happening in Kala land 🖤
@@toddbarriage Oh thank god. Without contact, I was starting to get worried. But if he's doing okay then that's all that matters. If you can, tell him I said hi!
I was wondering to myself if I had added too many flares, but when he told me they were “the herpes of video editing” I understood that as meaning I have to use them forever now 😎
Do I smell the big 100k subs incoming? 🤔😁 I always think "woah no way Todd's videos can get even better" and now you show off your epic typography skills on top!
Todd releases new cover.... #CharliesheenWinning Fucking outstanding as always chap. How about a Brian Adams - Everything I do remix? The 90s are calling you Todd....
i don’t actually know! i’m having a Disney phase right now, so instead of spamming singles i’m thinking about banking them up for an EP. or maybe I’ll change my mind and submit it tomorrow 😅
This is amazing. As someone with a toddler who loves Moana this hit in an especially potent way. Two thumbs up. Also, I've been waiting for you to drop another video so I could catch you in the comments while it's still fresh and plead with you to do "I Want to Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston because I think you would absolutely slay that track.
I pulled an all-nighter editing the video so i fell asleep before i saw this 😅 I’m so happy you enjoyed this!! I’d love to do something with that song, I’ll throw it on my list of songs-to-try and hopefully one day it can become something :) thanks for the suggestion!
Another great cover as always. Our girls are dancing along. :) Eventually, I will make the cycle and get you to do a cover of Scorpions "No One Like You". One day.....one day.
So many amazing subtle emo/screamo/scene references alongside this beautifully done cover. I think the "Sugar We're Goin Down" drum beat slipped in there perfectly in rhythm is my favorite
This rips. How much we gotta pay for this exact same instrumental, but with you singing the lyrics to Fireflies by Owl City like in that one Siivagunner mashup?
Closed Captions: "I wish I could be like Harry Potter But I come back to the water no matter how hard I try. Every bathroom break: Is it wee or scat? Every poop I take, takes a poop right back. To a place I know in Ontario where the sea lions kiss (so the story goes)."
Man the key change kicked it up into high gear! I loved the song already but damn I wonder what covering Nine Inch Nails AND Johnny Cash's versions of "Hurt" might sound like emo-ified? Emo-ginated? Y'know, like ya do
@@toddbarriage It could be a "fun" challenge, the lyrics are pretty dark and both feature fairly stripped down arrangements and slower BPMs compared to emo or pop punk. Lots to fill with your own imagination! Kudos again on this Moana jam, its just so damn uplifting
