Hi, we are delighted to hear this! If you ever need any kind of assistance, please reach out to us at support@moasure.com where it will be our pleasure to help you.🙂
I use the moasure a lot and have been getting better with time, using more features. I've tried teaching myself the layers, but I've never used it yet at a customer's property. It was good to see an example of you guys using layers.
The biggest herdle to using layers is that home point and retracing of the original line. I understand it is for the IMU to calibrate its compass, but it does take a lot of forethought into where to start you measurement, so you can reperform that first measurement. I use the moasure for my fence business, and commonly in Canada, the homes are in new developments with very rough grade soil. So it is hard to get a good spot to place the foot of the stick without adding error into the meausurement. I just try to be careful and have learned when the error added is likely significant or insignifcant. My measurements with moasure can be later verified with my quoting tool that uses the google maps API. As long as the distance is +/- a foot, I consider the measurement valid. I typically always around up the moasure's measurement to the next foot anyway.
@@Minglator we're glad you're getting on well with Moasure ONE! It sounds like you're getting on well with the device, but f you need any help then please don't hesitate to get in touch with the team at support@moasure.com.
Derek From County Louth here Barry, just purchased Moasure One today. Really looking forward to taking delivery of this, I can only imagine how this will simplify my day to day Surveys. I'm sure I'll have some questions as time goes by. Great videos BTW you made my decision to purchase so much easier.
Hi there, thank you for your question! Moasure devices are IP-67 rated and can easily deal with rainwater on the ground when measuring. However, because the device connects to the Moasure app via Bluetooth signal, it cannot measure once submerged.
Great video. Couple of questions: - I'm concreter, now if I'm measuring the concrete around a pool, would I take two measurements using layers, one around the pool and the other the outside perimeter of the concrete? Then subtract the pool area off to find the area to be concreted? Or is there another way of doing it? -Also using layers can I put straight lines on a shape using the elevation tool? (Because some areas are concave and others are convex, then I can work out quatities). - When I'm using it on a steep hill with the stick, it won't sit down flat when I place it on the ground? Which means the Moasure will rotate a little, will this affect the accuracy? - Last, because I need to learn to fully trust Moasure, after measuring the large area, I was going to double-check it by measuring smaller areas using layers, then add then together and see if it equals the same total pas the large area. Is this a good idea? It's going to be more accurate and faster than using a measuring wheel. Lol Thank you, Regards Pat
Hi Pat, Thank you for your comment. You have got the right idea with using "Layers" to work out your needed measurements for your use case scenario. We have a great page which shows examples and How-To Videos for Concrete Contractors which may answer a few questions and also show you the device live in action: www.moasure.com/pages/industries-concrete Using the Moasure on steep hills, would not affect the accuracy. All you have to maintain is that the device is placed stationary to be able to collect its measurement. We have an amazing video on how to use the Moasure on challenging terrain like this: vimeo.com/706947958/d91c97f02b We are dedicated to make onboarding to Moasure to be as easy as possible, and it does come with a learning curve. With practise and while following the tutorials and our App based coach, it would not be necessary to double-check any measurement. However, if this is for your sole peace of mind, you are able to do this using a smaller area using "Layers". The benefits of using Moasure, are not only that you will be faster and more accurate, especially with difficult shapes, but also that you have the full measurements ready in your hands to generate a quotation to the customer or to be sent externally for post-production, for e.g. in CAD. If you should have any further questions, feel free to reach out by email to our lovely support team at support@moasure.com, and they are more than happy to help. Kindly, Your Moasure Team
I've been using a moasure for over a year for landscape design site analysis. Works best for simple cases - lots of straight lines and no obstructions. I also bring a measuring tape along with me for actual measurements and use the moasure to capture a general sense of site shape / dimensions. Layers never seem to align with one another with any precision + outlines are often just completely wrong shape. Maybe it's user error (?) - but I've watched the tutorials and practiced a ton. I've also lost work in the field after creating and naming many layers only to discover the project was not automatically saved when I accidentally closed app - UI did not even prompt me to save changes. frustrating.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that Moasure has been helpful for your landscape design site analysis, especially for simpler cases. Regarding the issues you've encountered, it's definitely frustrating when layers don’t align or if the outlines seem off-precision is key, especially in design work. While it could be user error, it might also be worth checking out any app updates or new tutorials, as we’re constantly working on improving the experience. As for the issue of losing unsaved work, that’s definitely not ideal. I’ll make sure to pass this feedback on to our team to look into adding an auto-save or save prompt feature. We want to make sure Moasure works as seamlessly as possible for you! If you could reach out to support@moasure.com we would love to look further into this for you!
Great to see. I find when I do open or closed paths, I sometimes get an error along the way when a point doesn’t capture. Is there a way to keep going or do I have to start over. Also, when I turn a 90-deg corner it doesn’t always turn 90-deg; any suggestion? Thank you!

It would be very important if we could choose any point to create layers, without having to choose the first two. Will it be available in the next update?
Hi there, thank you for your question. In this case you can use the Layers feature to calculate and map these points of interest as individual Layers, so you can then deduct them manually from your overall measurement area. You can find out more information about Layers in our user guide here: docs.moasure.com/en/moasure-app/master-layers
There is a short tutorial and explanation of the features here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wJQ3lqc-xUQ.htmlsi=v-7yMzV-lo2MSISm The user guide for the new feature can be found here - docs.moasure.com/en/use-cases/3d-terrain-mapping-and-volume-measurements
Does it have to be on a solid surface to measure? Example: If I wanted to measure a wall. measure at floor. mid way up the wall , and then at the ceiling. Bottom of the "ONE" would not have any solid surface under it. would it be able to measure that?
Hi Chris. Yes, Moasure works fine indoors. The device has no GPS modules nor does it require any external signals such as data, cellular or location services etc. The only connection you need is a solid Bluetooth connection from your mobile phone to the Moasure ONE, as you use your phone to control the device. Apart from that nothing else is needed so working in places where you would have no cellular or GPS connection is not a problem, you can even have your phone in airplane mode (with Bluetooth on) and it would work fine.
@@markjarvis7087 it’s still under development, so we can’t commit to a launch date at this time, but even without volume, you'll get lots out of Moasure ONE that no other tool can offer. Find out more about the device's unique features right here: www.moasure.com/products/moasure-one
Although it can't calculate volume, it can get the square footage and elevation information. With those 2 things you can typically calculate volume on your own fairly easily. I use it to calculate backfill for retaining walls all the time.
