No such thing as "correcting your mistake" or "rehabilitation" in our justice system. Sure, some people come out of prison rehabilitated but 99% of the time that is something they took it upon themselves to do. When a prosecutor is trying to give someone football numbers they aren't thinking "yeah I'm going to give him this quarter so he can make a better life". The only thought is punishment. How much can we punish this person. Where is the worst place we can send him. No one in that court room besides maybe your attorney is thinking "how can I help this man".
