Appenzeller Bahn for Sure. I am waiting for the next event with historical trains im 2023... As I visited the BOB this year alredy I have no plans for a further film... you can find my clips here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-myoLepqDpWo.html
That's absolutely true. The RhB Ge 4/4 IIIs are just AC variants of the MOB Ge 4/4 8000s. The RhB did actually buy ex Ge 4/4 number 8003 and is currently converting it into an AC unit, it will run the RhB network as Ge 4/4 III Number 653. Originally it was planed to do the same with number 8004, but they decided to leave it at 8003 since the MOB still needs the remaining 3 8000s for the new gauge changing express trains.
Simple cost-saving measure, less expensive to run old but reliable stock than to replace the entire fleet. Look up the chemin de fer du jura, they're masters at that, having only bought new power cars.
The MOB always has been very flexible and conservative with its rolling stock. They tend to replace single pieces at a time, like buying new power cars that can be used in tandem with older cars or a new set of panorama cars that can do the same and then mixing them together instead of replacing the entire fleet at once. It's cheaper and after all, if it ain't broken why fix/replace it? Most train sets in this video are a mishmash of rolling stock that can be anywhere from barely a year to scratching 40 years old. The random car here also has room for baggage and is used to transport bicycles, so it's still useful.
