I HAD THE SAME ISSUES AND 1YR LATER THE PARK KNOCKED ON MY DOOR AND SAID...WE WILL BUY YOUR TRAILER FOR $1500. THE BLUE BOOK SAID $7000, I HAD NO CHOICE BUT SELL IT TO THEM SO I COULD GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE. NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I LIVE IN A MOBILE HOME PARK.
I’m afraid that may end up being what happens. They tried to offer me way less than it is worth years ago. I wouldn’t do it. If I’m going to do that I’d rather do that and sell it to someone else just so he doesn’t get it.
Stop complying with them pull your moble home out of this park and store it. Until you can sell it yourself. A moble home is considered personal property. Not real-estate.
That would be great if I could do that, but I don’t have the finances to do something like that. I have no choice to comply as long as I am unable to prove that he is acting inappropriately. I’m working on that with another attorney and hope that the solution is found soon. There’s a lot of things involved in removing a mobile home from a park. The owner can also mess with that process as well.
Never live in anything you can't haul away yourself with a Uhaul truck if you need to. This kind of thing is becoming rather common with MHPs and the crooks that run them.

Thank you for your support and your feedback. No, I am not able to move in with my daughter as she has my son-in-law and two grandsons, there’s just not enough room.
Also, until I sell my home, I’m still required to pay the space rent and other costs, I could not afford to help with the cost of living with my daughter either until I am free of the cost of my home. I’m disabled on a very fixed income.
Basically, I can’t do anything without permission from the park owner. Especially renting it out would cause the rent to increase income out of rent control, so it be twice as much. And you know, our park owner has made it a rule that we cannot sublease. And I won’t take that risk of someone else breaking the rules in the park and me being responsible. And with the park owner seeming to have it out for me, I’m sure he would find some thing.
There are condos in your area that are selling for 220,000 for ages 55+. I don't know what your budget is. With the music, I would have it on just in the beginning of your post and then turn it off. It is kind of distracting and it makes it difficult to hear what you are saying.
@pawsomfunandfrugal What area or counties in OR are you referring to? Most MH in OR which I've seen are 80K and up, even for old ones. Unless you're in very rural or eastern OR. Good luck to you.
I have an older daughter in Oregon, and two grandsons. I’m hoping to get up there. I will get more help, and yes, mobile homes are 1/3 of the cost of here. So is the cost of living, L O L.
We’re in the South Bay going through city rezoning right-now all the mhps trying to “preserve “them.. now we know when a city steps in it devalues everything. Many owners selling now and we’re in the park that won the failure to maintain lawsuit. 39 acres tax value $30 million. Public hearing in June. We’ve had Golden State Homeowners association through here in the last 2 yrs or so might be worth getting them involved and talking to other residents even if it gets scary or other residents avoid you. Safety hazards building code all things Cali recognizes for MHs I think our park has been hanging on waiting for something like this to happen then sell for highest price. We are under rent control not many are anymore bc once owner sells park rips out old mh puts in a new one. Honestly even if you lived on the road or in out of motels leave California. Insurances and many companies are pulling out bc they see the writing on the wall. Our Esurance cancelled my auto policy effective July no longer servicing California..

@@pawsomfunandfrugal Thankfully there were damages to homes & stress levels of living here caused people to wake up and coordinate..example the dyed blue water from the ponds was entering home plumbing backing up into tubs, electric was constantly out, water too..when one home out entire park was out for hours and hours..caught drug deals in front of home, in clubhouse. Kids destroyed light bulbs, carved various words into the sauna area/teak wood, kids ran from hot tub into pool before metal bars added.. Euuu the hot tub is still disgusting, pp got documented sick from pool..ahh i could write a book. Went through a lawyer group in LA, once at suing point it went quickly, close to finishing park sent a somewhat threatening letter "accusing, attacking" park was used and even at that point many dropped out.. many took settlement & left. MHs are a trap. Takes special financing not a traditional mortgage, parks run like apartments vs invested, committed homeowners, year round home inspections, Cali state just wrapped a 10 yr inspection on top of all that focused on codes..and most of all no park incentives or motivation for updating homes, grounds. Hall rental allows amplified music often renters go past 10pm cut off, double park, cone off parking for themselves..its a nightmare even after being here 15+ yrs..mhs as intended to be maintenance free, metal all a scam. Best of luck hope some owners take your park issues seriously and realize they can DO a big something and parks are a cash cow..
@LynnSJ thank you for sharing your experience. I have already been working with a couple of organizations that are trying to help, and I have an appointment with attorneys, again next week. In the meantime, I’ll continue to try to encourage neighbors to step up.
OK, you seem to have a lot of ideas and opinions here. Do you have a solution that you think would be better for me? If I can’t afford to live in California in my mobile home, where else do you think I can afford to live? Rent an apartment, no too expensive both in California and Oregon. Buy a house, absolutely can’t afford to do that. Do you have any really helpful suggestions or just a lot of opinions?
So, let me see if I get this right, you came on my channel to support someone else's comment and reiterate someone else's point. Therefore, you really didn't have an original idea that is helpful. Do I have that right? Like I asked the other person, do you have a better solution for me? Where should I go live where I don't have to deal with this and I can get help with my disabilities? Unless you can give me some sort of professional licenses that you have to show that you are some expert in these areas then you are just sharing your opinion as truth. Feelings are not facts. Do you have community guidelines as in documents that guide the community when you moved in... and should have been updated and amended as time went by when new things were introduced?? Unless you are up for some legal fees or find one to work on a contingency you are probably stirring a pot that you won't be able to cook..if you haven't done so already!! Perhaps step back regroup and think of a new approach!!!
Yes, we have community guidelines, they’re actually called rules and regulations, the park owners create them, but they are supposed to be in line with the mobile home residency laws of California. I am seeking legal assistance, which is also provided by several organizations that help with these issues. I already stirred the pot, twice now, and I am open to any suggestions you may have.
I have already tried several approaches, all lead to legal assistance. The park owner found a loophole between the law and what he wants to do in order to push out the older units. And, if I’m going to relocate for the benefit of my health and welfare, it’s better to try, than to not try at all.
