He’s trying to sell it for most profit…. He will not include that information and I do not blame him. It’s actually not as expensive as you may think. I’m guessing about under 10 grand for materials.
Wonderful job on the redo. Most people with your talents would not put any effort into this type of home, but everyone deserves a beautiful and affordable home.
@@TimothyPLivingston --- It is encouraging to see mobile home remodeling done properly. I am retired on a fixed income, doing research into mobile home living. Can't afford a conventional 'house' at 2021 prices. Looks like many of the mobile homes in this park need rehabbing.
My house is outdated and have been thinking about doing this. My husband didn’t think it was possible to update a mobile home, with your video I was able to convince him otherwise.
My friend who is handy n almost everything that goes wrong n my house has been a godsend but almost everything he helps me with , he says it cant b done. i have to beg him to just try it and it always works out. i have the vision but he has the skill, appreciate him but he angers me and i have to keep it inside bc he rarely charges me $$
Oh I have done updating on my 1971. New windows from home depot. I even got permits to add 2 rooms and a laundry room. It helped me out to raise 2 sons because the home was paid off. My favorite thing was to rip out the sliding glass door. Bought a great wood door at home depot. Just find your door and cut the mobile wall to fit it 👍😃 Have fun 🤗🇺🇸🤗
It's 100% possible to completely renovate a mobile home. For way cheaper than you can a regular house. You just have to be creative If you want to save money, instead of getting granite countertops consider faux stone or a kit that makes old countertops look like granite, kitchen cabinets are pricey as f**k so consider some new paint and new cabinet doors and handles instead of a whole new set of cabinets. Don't spend $1400 on a new kitchen island, go to a thrift store and buy a nice dresser, if you can, find an antique one and paint it maybe put some faux stone or tiles on the the top of the dresser, new handles and you have your self a better island Than you go out and buy. You just have to be creative.
I really appreciate your recognition that we are all in different walks of life, but everyone benefits from a beautiful, clean, safe, and affordable home. You have done a marvelous thing!
I just subscribed, but I would like to make a recommendation on your video reveals. Slow down the camera movement when showing the finished product. Give the viewer time to see the details.
I will work on camera movement for sure. Thank you for the sub and I appreciate the complement have another ready in a couple weeks excited to show it to everyone
So nice!!!! Wish me and my 10 year old son could find a place like this! In our area! Its just right! Not too big not too small! Great job I love this home!!:)
I so wished I could do this to my trailer! I'm a single mom working all the time and it's hard these days as you know lol but my trailer is a 74 model and it's falling apart but it's all I have. I'd love to be able to do this!
That’s beautiful. I painted professionally high end, new construction homes and this sir looks as sharp on the inside as some of those. Very clean, modern and spacious. Well done.
I loved what you’ve done with this mobile home but I think you should have put some kitchen cabinets above the counter. Also a small linen closet in the bathroom.
Wonderful work.I think it is very rewarding to take something that is very ugly and falling apart and making it beautiful again.I just don’t know what the world would do without people like you that can do this.good job.very beautiful 🤩
Tim, Nice remodel! Love the T-111 paneling instead of that nasty old aluminum! personally, I would have changed out the windows to larger windows in the back.... and with these old units making them 1 bed 1 bath is about all you can do with them.... I have a friend who's dad redid his trailer and it turned out really nice! these units are really hard to remodel without having to completely rethink the floor plan.... Great work!
Install some kitchen cabinets, an island for the kitchen, some greenery on the outside and I think it look even better. Install awing over the outside doors also.
Its missing any personality! Why did u eliminate the 2nd bedroom, unless it was 4 size, could u have made it a storage closet instead? Upper cabinets would help in the kitchen, except this remodel excellent 4 single or elderly only. Never could do a family thing.
The mobile homes that you have remodeled look really nice (good job!) but I have noticed that when you replace the steps to the doors, they are only as wide as the entry and the rail looks like it would be to close to the door opening, especially if they are bringing in groceries or furniture. I would think you would want to make at least the main entry steps wider. One for safety and two for ease if you have a handful of groceries or just having your hands full.
Depends if he is selling it renting it out. If he is renting it out, I agree. But if he is selling, that's not a deal breaker because if the home is bought it could 50/50 be moved to a different location.
if the park would allow it, I would have build a deck between the two sets of stairs. I'm not sure where you are, but if there is any season for outdoor living, this would greatly add to your living space.
It still looks like a trailer/mobile home on the outside but the finished inside is excellent. It is good to have clean safe housing that is budget-friendly. If this setup were in a New York City apartment building it would be a couple of thousand a month for rent.
So if I'm not mistaken the back room has to be accessed by walking through the open laundry room/2nd bathroom?.. soooo let's say if you have guest over and you are in the back room and someone just happens to have to use the bathroom, and they go to use that one in particular... the person in the back room has to wait until the person using the bathroom has finished so they can get out of the room?... or the other option is for the person in the room exit to the outside of the home and go around to the house to get out of the room (so they don't have to wait for the person using the bathroom)?🤔. Nice update but found that layout to be odd, also could have been that you flew through the tour so fast that I missed a second indoor entry/exit to the backroom, but if that's not the case then that sucks for whoever is stuck in the backroom 🤣.
Yes you are correct. We designed it for a single individual to live in the house. If they did have a guest I’m sure some simple communication will allow one person out of the back room. We understand this layout probably will not suit the taste of everyone. But it did suit the person that purchased it and to me that’s all that matters.
I don't like the doors that open out because I like to have a glass door so can leave door open at times.even with no glass door dont like doors goin out.seems in safe or something odd.but good job on Mobil home nice
Hi, I was just curious about a couple of things, one do you have to submit plans for your permits? And two how much of a hassle it is getting permits manufactured home remodels?
I’ve never owned a home… I’m here because I just bought a mobile home for cash! And I willll do this for my family… I don’t know where to start but I will do this…. Goals! God be with me lol
Hi, do you have a video showing how you re-did the siding and replaced the windows? Also, does this home have 2x4 exterior walls or 2x2 or 2x3? I have a pre-hud home that has thinner walls that I want to re-do the siding and re-do the windows. I am going to have to make the walls thicker somehow to accommodate the vinyl windows and also to add more insulation....looking for some advice. I have seen some just add wood slats (1x2) to the exterior metal and attach the siding , I'm just worried if that will hold up.
Great refurb! My question is: Who would be able to afford this after the renovation? I wouldn't think you'd make much profit on something like this after all this great work and $$$ sunk into making it look great a livable? Someone who is going to spend that kind of money for a mobile home would just as well get a small house. Maybe I'm wrong.
I have a mobile home like the before.. and its always hot in my home. And i have central ac and a 14000 btu portable ac and still hot.. do u think cause the oustide is metel or aluminum what ever it is. Cause when i touch it. Its boiling hot!! Why my inside always hot as hell???
BIG QUESTION!!!! What is cheaper, to have my rotted, unsafe trailer all redone like this one or, buy another one? I'm 56 and need a safe home but, I really don't have the finances. 😢
You can make cosmetic changes on a small budget, but major repairs call for skilled workers which have to be paid. If you need major repairs, I’d consider going through homeowners insurance if you have it. If not, I’d look into a very small new one. But being safe is very important.
I never bought anything at home or anything and I bought this 1988 Danville and it was a mess I didn't know how bad it was until I got in there and I had a contractor to come in and he took me for $10,000 so now I'm trying to fix this up on my own and I need some help some clues or some advice what I should do with certain things
Hi Timothy I really need to talk to you. I bought an exact same home 12x46 and put it on land. Now debating whether I go through this process or not. Please Id like to consult and get into your community
It amazes me how people can destroy a home & leaving filth & trash. This looks great. I would prefer upper cabinets in the kitchen because I have A lot of dishes & would need the space.i live in Texas so we need good insulation & air conditioner.
Turned out great. Just 2 questions please if I may ask. How long have you been doing renovations and how do you come up or decide the design layout of each home since sizes vary. Thank you.
We did our first renovation in 2019. As far as the layouts I leave that up to the lady in charge lol. Jenn is good at look at a space and coming up with things. I simply put them together
The side-by-side‘s made it really difficult for my eyes to focus, and it literally gave me a headache. Would love to see the video with the before, and after showing on separate frames.
It looks great! But do you fell its worth it to do this in a mh park? Its seems as though they just allow anyone live in and destroy these homes in this particular one. And since you’re not part of that process I would worry. After all the hard work and money you have put into the home is it worth it.
My only criticism is the lack of upper cabinets in the kitchen. Their isn't much storage in trailers and kitchen cabinets (in my opinion) is essential.
Wow...you did a beautiful job. Where are you located? My sister is in desperate need of some one she can trust renovated the mobile house she purchased.
Need a new toilet. All I saw when you showed I’m there is the nasty toilet. The nicer it is the more money. Where is this place? My grandson needs a place
ism trying to knock down a wall to make my living room and kitchen all in one but having hard time if its non bearin or not i have single wide as well. so i have no attic to check it out can someone please help
That's really cool! I might do that too instead of having the golden oldie removed and building a new cottage. Must be much cheaper! Granny flat to go!
Yes yes what i think too also when they put outside doors goin out when you want to go in its not easy you half to step up unlock or just to go in then back back down an then open door as you stretch to do it then go in wait for it then go back out an get the door to shut it OMG!! I'm tired just thinking about getting in front door also other doors too.he needs to think about that plus you pay pets could get out while your trying to shut door ok now finished.
