The vast majority of the hate for the game is simply the Peer to Peer matchmaking and the initial terrible connections the game had. Dont play this if you arent confident in your connection. And they fixed most the connection problems. Now you only occasionally fail to get a match going about the same rate as it is on console. But the gameplay otherwise is really great even a lot of the negative reviews that are review bombing the game mention "the game is fun but". PC players are too damn sensitive to something if it doesnt work 100% immediately. they didnt take into consideration this is a fucking BANDAI GAME. They are TERRIBLE at managing their games properly, but the fact that the game is indeed fun is being ignored.

The port is bad. But this game is alot of knowledge and skill wrapped into one to play. It is absolutely nothing like Evo which I think is a terrible game. So it is simply just you not being the target audience or lacking the time invested to learn. I did just fine in PS and the betas for this completely aside of the gatcha.

I like this game more than evolution. Than again im not a huge fan of Overwatch style games. Side note, you are bad at this game. And it does feel weird to play but we all were when we started. Once you learn how to control the MS and the flow of combat, it’s gonna feel a lot better. And there are some fun things about this game but it is a shame the PC port is ass though 😅

There's a lot of nuance to this game from my experience and just outright saying it sucks when going into this review with a strong bias against it seems a little unfair. Especially bc those pve missions teach you all the little tricks in a really good way so you can learn how to pilot your Mobile Suits better without just being thrown to the wolves to get farmed. But it still gives you the option to do pvp right away if you feel ready. I played it on PS4 and yeah it's definitely more for Gundam fans. You're not going to get fast paced action bc this is focused on Universal Century Gundam content to where the mobile suits are intended to be more "realistic" as far as mechs go. For the most part at least. Like they are massive war machines so they're going to move slow and clunky. The mouse sensitivity is intentional bc you are piloting something huge that's gonna take time to rotate. Getting staggered is gonna really put you in a bad position. Overextending will get you killed. Etc. It's more strategic than it is unga bunga rooty tooty point and shooty. But what I LOVE about this game, is that despite it being a gacha game, even the most basic units are competitively viable. I see people cleaning house with various Zakus and GM's. Ofc there are the whale wars which is the 600+ cost maps. But doing 300 or 400 is a ton of fun once you get the mechanics down.

I agree they should of done a proper PC port because It's not like we play against console players putting them at a disadvantage. It wouldn't hurt to have a proper functioning mouse movement. I as an Avid Gundam fan will put up with it because at the end of the day I love Gundam. But a HUGE majority of potential players that want to give it a shot even with the low quality the graphics for today's standards will outright quit the game. WHICH ISN'T GOOD FOR US GUNDAM FANS BTW Why do you people attacking him think we don't get any proper PC Gundam games???? This was clearly a lazy port by Bandai and if they want to reach a wider audience they need to do better.

The game is slower which took some getting used to. The game gives a pretty solid gundam experience imo, but its servers feel unplayable.

I'm just gonna leave my thoughts here from my thread on the steam community tab: "Well it was interesting seeing people cope hard over a launch Just stop hating blindly cause it aint fast paced and has bad servers on launch This is easy for "Bad launches" just be happy it aint a Battlefield level bad launch. The lobby is so fking laggy my fps is like 10 or 5 but ingame got 50 ish tho but still it took me alot of time to get to the sortie cuz of the fps

The game is a mix of a 3d fighting game x war thunder. There’re mechanics like the stun, stagger, emergency evade, etc that you’d need to learn. The fighting game aspect is that you need to know what your unit can/can’t do(skills, combos, type advantages) and constantly weigh options. You’ll play each unit differently, but they’ll all use the same fundamentals. War thunder is the most reminiscent game of how you’d aim. Since all ms have a turn rate stat, they can only turn at a certain rate. The gacha aspect is not necessarily game changing, you can have the highest rarity units but play terribly. Higher rarity/stars don’t necessarily mean they have higher stats or are better than lower rarity units. The game is very situational, in scenario A, unit A has an advantage over unit B. In another scenario that advantage can be flipped. Lastly, in a unlimited cost it’s usually best to stick with the unit you’re most comfortable with and highest cost in your collection, lower cost units can be one-shot or staggered indefinitely. Also, stun chaining with teammates is essential, usually you’d want at least one teammate with you, and always sortie with the team in rated matches. Tldr; lots to learn, like a fighting game each unit will be played differently but learning fundamentals will go a long way, gacha, unit rarity doesn’t translate to better gameplay or advantage, each unit has a cost and matches have a cost limit, experience trumps almost everything, so try to use the highest cost and unit you’re best with. As a game its almost perfect, however the current state of matchmaking and crashes makes it unplayable. So at this point a negative review is deserved. If anyone would like to play matches more consistently then try going into customs. Do be warned it’d be best to manage expectations when in pvp, since players with years of experience from console will join your matches. Especially with how everyone starts at the same rank. For new players always stick with a teammate and sortie with the team for rated matches.

This game is so niche even in Japan it's not making the top rankings for most played games for PS4 and PS5.

if they fix the connection problems and the lag i can play this all day np i was realty down when this game 1st came out and it was only on consoles i was so happy when it came on pc just to be hit by terrible servers and lag problems making me stop playing right away....

One thing that annoys me is when i try to sortie into a match and when everyone is finally loaded up but im greeted with a black screen and when i close the application i get a penalty for leaving..

Aim speed is tied to mobile suit turn rate, there is no advantage to playing m&k. Plug a controller in for the best experience as it's what the game was designed for Edit: aim for the legs to kill your opponents mobility

10 000 negaitve reviews on Steam. Is it really that bad ? They can't all lie. You hear of bans, after losing connection, not getting lobbies, for example. But i am a fan of this mouse control. These heavy robots SHOULD turn slowly. Should have been like that in Titan Fall too. Also im this other game, Gundam Evolution, the bots move too fast. It should look authentic.

Nah if you ask me, I prefer this gameplay in comparison to Gundam Evolution(which is just a Overwatch Clone), this is a more Tactical Mobile Suit gameplay instead of high speed robot fights. Also the reason why your aim is slow, it's because each Mobile Suit have a Turn Rate, and if you upgrade it, then you can turn faster. It's a mechanic.

The controls are not weird at all. Think of it as part of the game mechanics and there are custom parts that should somehow improve your control stuff. If you also played armored core back in PSP it's kinda the same frustration at first but gb02 need more precise aiming and timing. Again think of it as part of the mechanics that you need to master. Then afterwards it will make sense why it's not playing like a gundam skinned overwatch game. It's definitely a mech game. It's sluggish. It's heavy. The controls are technical. But if you can manage all that - man this game is so fun. It's for the players who are looking for a gundam game that plays like a mech, technical and requires some level of skills including understanding that this is also a very heavy team based game. Also want to mention that strategy got great impact on the outcome - unfortunately you need a solid squad for this one. As the old saying, gitgud. Server and lobby sucks but definitely gameplay wise it's the best since I'm tired of easy gundam games.

This game is certainly an acquired taste. HOWEVER, the amount of hate it is getting is overrated. For a FREE to PLAY title, it gives you more than what normal Free to Play games give you.

maybe you should play mech arena this game is worst ever i have played when you login you get bunch of packs that you have to buy and they have pilots which only lobby not in game play and pvp sucks asf and reward oh my god they give rewards loot which you don't have mecha you need to buy to use that drops and objectives they keep changing every time you before finish them and horrible background music they play uff and waiting time to start pve its 30 to 40 sec which is 2vs2 3vs3 and 10vs10 just try once what i mean and this gundam way far better i can see here

Should note most of the mobile suits can just be bought out right with in game currency. 4 and 5 stars I think are the only real exceptions and even then you can buy those outright once in awhile if you have enough recycle tickets.

Can anybody get into a damn lobby?? Fuck! I just wanted to enjoy this game on my two days off, but I spend my of my time trying to get into a lobby for 40-50 mins!

The review basically says 'I don't know anything, won't try to understand, and I'm not interested.' Not really a good basis for a review, a couple of your points were valid, but if the bulk of the video is 'i don't really know what's going on', it doesn't really help anyone.

Most of your critiques and opinions I mostly agree and understand. With how the game plays I've already figured controller would win over keyboard, improvements to aiming and firing could be better and OH GOD THE QUEUING and network issues on PC. An' you're thoughts going into GBO2 after Evolution are similar to mine but in reverse; I'm a gundam fan who wanted to like Gundam Evolution but the hero shooter gameplay just wasn't really jiving with me. I deffiently prefer the on the boots slow-ish gameplay that comes with piloting a mobile suit and your references with it akin to souls-like is fairly spot on. And I can see if your just only a fan of shooters your interest wane an' varying if you arin't already a gundam fan to become an ace in your favorite mobile suit. The only other nitpick thing that just drove me absolutly nuts in your video was your gameplay with the GM Kai Ground Type (CB) (TB), the moments you were just standing around just tailing the other MS open and not pulling out your melee downswing, and you only ever spammed it's main rappid fire gun which grows stun but you never jumped at the opening and barely the other insta-stun rockets and grenades to open for a melee was painful. Though at the same time I kinda get it you weren't really even trying to play the game just doing the bare minimum of move and pew pew, though I'm being a teeny bit mean an' ranty a fair bit there. Especially with the GM Kai Ground Type, one of my few favorite raid MS in the game. I was also pretty baffuled why you went into a match in an unfiniler suit blind instead of going into the practice area at the very least to really demonstrate mechanics an' whatever and familiarise with an MS before going into a quick match. That seems to be a common thing I see in some of these PC newcomer reviews is skip the tutorial (fine and dandy) and skip the practice mode to get ye feet wet before jumping into a lions den and become easy points farming for the other team.

My biggest problem is how non beginner friendly it is. It is so hard to just understand stuff they dint tell you about. And then it's like oay to win so you shoot them and it foes nothing.

Welp, i didn't expect the PC port to perform well, but the PS4 version is better. The game can definitely be fun to play with friends.

I have no performance issues running this game it runs really well just the connection issue on my end for matches other then custom matches. Running a 5700xt Amd gpu runs great just fix the server issue

1. ttk is not long, you just need to know what weapons do what. 2. the game was made to be played on controller that's why m&k feels weird. 3. 0 matchmaking issues here all day. I feel like if you go into something without doing much research and then having a heavy biased against it you really shouldn't do a review. but hey maybe that's why your channel is tiny LOL, so that explains that.

For ppl that wish to continue playing this game or getting back I strongly urge you to try a arcade gundam game then hurt your head 1-10 1. Barely anything to do solo wise beside training and start off with a low rank that is stupid to have… last time I checked amuro, jamila, sestuna, kira, stargazer, union, co (stardust), herro, x gundam, Hathaway, seabrook, iron blood, mobile g, judo astha were either chosen to Pilot or by plot armor 2. 3-4 types of level & that fail matchmaking often or just aren’t enough ppl 3. Types of mobile suits bring advantage and disadvantages which is not needed in the game at all at this point 4. Low IQ teammate and no voice chat to scream at a teammate so they can be held by the hand to know what to do beside newbies 4. Penalties out way the rewards 5. Exp is slow and most mobile suits are locked be rank level 6. Weaponry is slow and movement in general 7. Supply drop chance rate for the mobile suits you want are a waste of time and resources 8. Upgrade ikr your suit in the hangar takes 70 hrs 9. Limited daily rewards and tokens reward earn is scares 10. It’s a half done game made by a half done company that can’t stay in there build to have a standard or what they offer

the game is mostly skill or star, if you aren't playing with a swivel-sight mentality and watching your angles if you have a weaker gundam or weapon, your going to die more, so having a higher rating makes more room for mistakes and failure, its just treat its like this, get comfy, get used to preparing to fire, and keep your eyes darting, or your going to get slashed.

It doesnt just 'suck' its quite literally impossible to play because the second the rotation for maps/costs go- the matchmaker breaks and then the devs take the game down for a few hours and this has been happening over and over all day for launch day, lmao.

Loot box hell, game bad. I won’t give these loot box gotcha games a chance, it’s my red flag that makes me instantly uninstall. I love Gundam, but not enough to be burnt by another gotcha game.
