Your dust collection is a great idea. Perfect for this table! Earlier on, I found that I was emptying the5 gallon bucket every time I used it. I swear the sawdust was growing on it's own! For this table I will be going back to the 5 gallon again! You might build an extended fence with a infeed support.
I know Im late to the party, but I just finished building my work bench with drwaers and dust collection. Added a few features but great build!! Thanks for the ideas!!
That is a fantastic build! I started a workbench a couple years ago and the build just didn’t work out. I’m going to use your concept to redo my own workbench. Thanks!!
This is perfect, exactly what I need, thank you for each of these work bench videos, I’m about to do this for my garage also, I have a 1 car garage and this will make things a lot easier!
Love it! I wish i would've researched more on a system as the one I got doesn't fit anything lol So valuable showing these set ups and cost... not to mention the step by step walk through. Thank you for this!
I works really well! My video coming up Sunday I hook it up to my pocket hole jig and wow! Those blast gates get gummed up after awhile my only complaint not sure if there is an better option out there! Take care
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the level of detail in your videos. I’m a DIYer as well, but I do keep a clean and organized garage haha. This idea is going to help me lots.
I built your work bench from your video and love it. Now i have to install this bad boy. Thanks a lot. JK What a great touch to a great work bench. Loving your channel and what you do. Please keep up the great work.
thanks for the video. 295 was not bad at all for the piece of mind of less dust in the air and mess great job and thanks for the ideas, just earned you a subscriber.
Just a quick note. Just got my supplies for the dust collection and after test fitting everything the y fitting from your link is not the correct size. It links to a fitting with outside diameter of 2.5 inches, the one you use in the video is 2.5 inches inside diameter and comes with the adapter. It is available on Amazon but you need to search for it. Also, there is a video on RU-vid showing how you can modify the plastic blast gates so you can clear out the sawdust. Hope this helps. Thanks again for all you do and the great videos!!!
Nice catch on the link - I just updated it to the exact one I purchased. Do you remember the channel that showed that video I have had problems with the gates getting stuck? Thanks for supporting and watching the channel!
The channel was LRN2DIY. he shows how to basically create a channel where the sawdust can be pushed out but still seal when you open the blast gate. It basically involves cutting the end off the blast gate and using duct tape to create the new end. I may give it a try myself once I get that far along. Hopefully it works, because if it does would be a cheap fix. Hope this helps!
I have a different miter saw than yours. Trying to figure out if I need to modify the height of workbench to accommodate lowering of miter saw. Can you tell me the total depth front of miter saw to back of miter saw flip table. And how much height from bottom of workbench floor to bottom of miter saw table from underneath. I think I need 28 inches to comfortably drop saw. As my saw is from bevel handle to tip of miter handle roughly 27 inches. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Again love your videos and step by step instructions and great attitude! Keep it up.
Saw platform is 18 deep and 28 wide. You have 28 3/4 drop if you mount the back legs of the saw to farthest point possible on the saw platform. My saw from the back legs to the tip of the miter adjustment is 24". I have my saws front legs almost to the front edge of the saw platform and it clears the floor when down by a inch or so. Hope this helps
That’s exactly what I needed! Thank you so much for answering all of my questions! That was I think the last big question I had, at least for now, on the workbench build. Now with this info, I am going to attempt to build the workbench! I am also going to try and incorporate shelves and dust collection. The dust collection was the big reason I asked about your miter saw box dimensions, so I could figure out what would fit. Thanks again!!! Keep the videos coming!!!
@@HomeProHero do you think this vacuum setup would work well enough for moderate chopping in a multi-use space (ceramics, etc) without needing to roll out of the space?
Did you use plain silicone on the hoses and gates or silicone caulking? The tube in the video says silicone, but the link takes me to silicone caulking. Thanks!
