I broke my ankle at the beginning of the new year. The hospital sent me home with crutches. I wasn't even able to make it from the car to the door. I have the upper body strength of a wet overcooked noodle. My best friend brought me a scooter. I'm able to use it however it does run the risk of tipping. My floors are not level and I have steps on my porch so it does have limitations.

Your videos are giving me so much hope after breaking my ankle and being a teacher and a mom to a 5-month-old. Your videos on the IWalk are so helpful. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for the valuable information you earned a Like and a Subscribe! However I would've loved it if you showed us how to use that kind of walker with a non weight bearing foot break in a cast. Thank you again.

I need a TAR but told nothing but a wheelchair the entire recovery which will be months due to existing issues. I was in a wheelchair for months several months ago and have used a walker after and currently do. I am not ready to go back to complete invalid in a wheelchair with no help, so no surgery in foreseeable future though I want to get rid of pain and walker.

Question I'm having ankle fusion surgery on right ankle I need to be non weight bearing for three months would a walker or scooter be best if so what kind my right side is my weaker side
@EquipMeOT
@EquipMeOT 2 года назад
2 wheeled Walker for most activity and a scooter or possibly an iWalk if your balance is good. I find that many need the walker initially due to pain and some unsteadiness following surgery and then progress to a faster mobility aid after that initial phase. Good luck! amzn.to/3JnEJLJ

Thank you for getting back to me so my other question pertaining to is one besides the iwalk which scooter would be good after ankle fusion surgery for both in the home and going hospital for appointments and what else do you think I should order to get me ready for surgery?

This scooter is sufficient in most cases. amzn.to/3ps4LFA

As far as other supplies, you’ll need some sort of shower seat (will depend on your shower setup), a cover for your foot/lower leg while you have an open incision, and possibly a frame for around the toilet (or grab bar) since you’ll be relying on one leg to stand, so having something to push/pull on will make life much easier.

Due to a motor vehicle accident I had a total hip replacement on the left side. The femur was broken in three places. I also had a trimalleolar fracture of the right ankle. The repair on the ankle has failed. I now have to have it redone and will be nonweight bearing for several months. My left leg and my arms are not strong enough to support me using my walker. Do you think I could use the iwalk 2.0 and a walker togethr? Thank y ou

How to walk 25% and 50% weight with walker?
@EquipMeOT
@EquipMeOT 2 года назад
This can be figured with a scale by weight divided by 2 then figure the percentage of weight allowable per leg. It’s nuanced and horrible to integrate in real life, but it’s a necessary evil with certain fracture and surgical recoveries.

The peg leg looks very dangerous

It can be just as dangerous as crutches. You just have to be careful with where you're using them and the weather.
