To anyone behind the screen, i just want to tell you: *Stay Strong!* Life may seem hard, but your life is always worthy, and there's always hope. In the end, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. Life is still worth living.
Thank you for your message... I'm from Brazil and here things are rough... Our president is a fucking dumb doing shit and making more and more people suffer the consequences... The future here is so foggy that i'm not seeing a way through... God helps me ever, but it's still so hurtful see all these things... Stay strong, my equal!!
First listened to this song as a 13 yr old kid with no understanding of the world around me. Now as a 24 year old with a few life experiences, heart breaks, deaths, and sad/amazing things happen to me, I can't help but have this song touch me. Sometimes I wish I can go back to being a little kid with my older brother and family and cherish those moments. Life was so precious and it vanishes before you can even tell.
Every time I hear this song and the video it seems like it's the first time. It gives me a feeling of anguish and also a feeling of peace and admiration for the person that this musician is.
My dog Mojo, who I raised from a puppy and was my companion in life, my best friend, started having seizures at age 6. I took him to several vets who said he may have epilepsy, but his conditioned worsened and we had a cat scan done. I received the heartbreaking news that he had a large brain tumor and severe swelling and he would not be able to be saved. I played this song so loud it blew my speakers and cried like I have never cried before in my life.
I felt that same way about my daughter's boyfriend when he passed away suddenly at age 31. To this day I can hardly speak about him without tearing up. I see him in my dreams. He talks to me. I miss him so.
I am so sorry you lost your little friend. I am glad, however, that you found some music to find some kind of solace in. Moby has a way of guiding you to that side and empathizing with you. His music has gotten me through more than a couple of bad times...Best wishes to you, EarlKrempe
wd harvey Thank you for the kind words. I agree with you, Moby's music is very unique in that aspect - very atmospheric, very deep. Best wishes to you as well my friend.
I know there's a dog in this video, but this song came out just before my dog died and I remember hearing it on the radio on the day she took her second heart attack from hearing fireworks outside due to Halloween season. She passed away in my arms. I think of her every time i hear this song. I wish people would consider how much fireworks frighten animals.
This song Im reminded of living in china. I didn't know it said he opens doors and instead thought it said here mdme dong which was the name of the Chinese prefesor. Anyway. Haha
This video hits hard. That poor man he's so loving, trusting and kind only to have the evil world torment and discard him. Still, at least he and his dog got to experience the companionship of their own kind even if briefly. At the end of it they have each other, that's all they need.
Listened to this song a decade ago when my daughter had turned 11 y.o. Now she's gone to college, parted ways with partner and gotagain. (MS)! Time to watch this video over and over agan! Thanks Moby.
Just lost a family member to cancer. She leaves behind 4 beautiful young children and a loving father and husband. I dedicate this song to them and hope that they find peace and tranquility through this absolutely tragic event.
Hey. From my point of view,I don't agree. Paradoxically, it's the opposite effect for me. It puts things into perspective and makes you realise that you're not the only one to experience these emotions.

Moby has helped me through depression in so many ways. he builds his songs to a crescendo that you are right up there, then, he can drop it down a bit, leaving a form of question mark at the end, telling the listener, "think....now, DO"....his music is dark, yet it reaches the soul in its orchestration....oh, wow....I've been listening to him for years, way before "Play"...he's so emotional in his composition...
martin galeano yeah, I'm fine...I just like how his music can sometimes take a twist from being kind of dark and turn into such a beautiful piece of music. It really helps sooth me when I'm in a dark place in that his music seems to match my mood, and it lifts me up a bit when I'm down....Thanks for your comment!
wdharvey1 I really understand your words too.Music is good for mind and heart .And Moby's songs are always a very positive help. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I agree. I really enjoy his music for the same reason as well. Sometimes I can hear songs that make me feel worse. Moby's music is...comforting and never does that to me. Love it.
This song broke the dam of unshed tears and cries from my soul when i most needed it. Unexplained power of this song is heartbreaking and cleansing at the same time. Wow, what a man to compose this, thank you.
It's a beautiful, incredibly emotionally moving song. I love it so much I play piano with it all the time. So many people have never even heard of this masterful composition, and when they hear it, many of them cry. Incredibly moving, and never gets old.
+Cesar Forero I always say: I don't know if Moby makes me feel good or feel sad, or both. But in any case it's a good thing because I absolutely love Moby. Even the sadness is a good sadness, the kind that needs to be experienced. It makes you feel good or maybe "nourished". So, to my original comment about wether Moby makes me feel good or feel sad...it's both all at the same time (something many artists are not able to evoke). And I love it that way. And I love this song
+Sascha X if u lost them after ur jump - fuck friends like this.Listen, I know what u feel, trust me. Just give me ur contact, and will be friends)im from Russia, at first.Reason of my bad engl)))

Playing this as my life is slowly becoming extremely difficult. Some doors in life need to get closed either by choice or by circumstances. But He will open another doors. I always believe this song is about Jesus because he will give you other choices on your path. The path driven by faith that tomorrow will be better. So put that weight of life on His shoulders because He will carry you forward. Doors are open and all you need is to decide to go through them.
pls if you come here with a broken heart/ blue soul, go ahead and check the whole comment section while letting the music vibe... you ll start feeling better, as you ll notice that youre not alone...didnt know crying was so terapeutic
Moby, if you ever see this please know that through you’re music especially this one , you helped me manage through one of the hardest times of my life. It kept my faith strong and gave my mind ease. Thanks.
I love the bit at 1:43 My dad used to tell me that if I listened carefully enough I could hear my thoughts travel through space and time & ever since I've had a deeper connection with this song.
In 2001 I was 13 years old when I first saw this music video on TV. I felt inspired - a cartoon with a very beautiful melody. it was a revelation of some very intelligent adult author conveying his sadness. and I felt like a child on the verge of discovering something great. still listening to this song, I remember how it was, to goosebumps. Moby - this was one of the first real choices of my music that I still listen cause his music makes me feel. but it all started after this video. sorry for my poor english and from Russia with love!
A human voice singing and talking about human sadness, the depression we all have. To be so concious about loneliness, but the idea of comunity as well. Amazing!!
This song is so beautiful but sad it makes me think about that life is not forever we are mortals wake up people be good don't hurt anyone don't kill , love animals , love the life that God gives you , love what you have already , don't be greedy and don't think in the future so much cause we don't know if there's a tomorrow , don't cheat on your loves ones and pray for the world that is sick already of so many people that doesn't have souls
Listening to this now in 2020. My heart is sad. Im sad about how the world is. Im sad about how awful people are to each other. But i don't know... I feel a change coming. Maybe for everyone or maybe just for me. Keep fighting prople :)
i feel you, recently my country got a war and none of my friends are checking up on me. im just 13 and already am forced to grow up quickly to take care of my family. life just doesnt feel real right now
@@hollypark172 thank you for this. honestly. just now i was drawing a portrait of the people whom had died in the war when i had just gotten this notification. that last war has ended, but a new conflict started just 2 days ago. and they are attacking my region. i just can't even begin to process it all, and ever since the last war i had fallen into a state of shock and disbelief. i cant begin to thank you for your concern, we need more people like you
when I heared for first time this song I think I was just 7 years old, and something happened to me, the vibe, the music, the voices, it really touch my soul and make me feel so emotional, I used to cry everytime that I hear this song. but it clean my sout in someway, I let go something everytime.
No Religion matter, no politics are interessting in us, no skin colour painting pain in our faces... we people are the cruel, so lets stand strong together for respect and kindness!
Thank you for artists like moby. Great talent yet not sucked dry by publicization. This brings me back to when I had to live with my aunt because my mother was in prison and she played this album almost everyday. I want to cry but am so grateful for music like this.
i was without any energy and very sad in that year when first time I heared this song in the radio. half a year later i changed my life into good, moved to antother town and two years later I saw Moby live in my new hometown together with the amazing band röyksopp. for two decades a tear and a friendly smile of summer sun is in my heart with this extraordnary lovely song. thank you, moby
Released back in 1999 and never ages. Just wonderful. This is the soundtrack you need when you're feeling sad and blue. It indulges you're feelings and you just go with the flow. Thanks Moby. Mike
If you’re watching this in 2020, please know that you’re not alone and that you’re loved so much. This big wide world is full of beautiful, gentle souls just like you. You will get through whatever it is that’s hurting you. You are going to be okay. We’re going to make it through this, I promise - cross my heart and hope to die.
1st time watching the video.... But I know the song by heart!! I can SSOOO understand this video in more ways than one! My life is not complete unless my dog (a Corgi) is by my side every waking hour. He is my soul mate, my everything. I must have him with me all the time. I do not do well in large crowds. So Bentley is my ESA dog to help me. And I can look to him for support when I need it most.
TheManunderwater DONE! Thank you for your kind words. Bentley got a sister a month ago. A tri color Corgi. She is a little older (6) then him, but they are finally getting along. Feel free to subscribe to my channel to watch them progress. :)
It's a lonely feeling not having someone you care about, worse is when those you cared for become strangers; The people who gave you the best memories become a memory... Leaving you marooned in forlorn isolation; lost in a sea of tears, overwhelmed with grief and regret. I still love you. I always will.
@@cromdevil Almost Home, by Moby, is another really great and moving song. Interpret the lyrics as you like. And the music is beautiful. One thing I love about Moby is the lyrics he writes are poetic and can be interpreted any way you want, that fits how you feel about it. He is a brilliant artist.
This is a song to bring you out of sadness and back and a better person rising through the storm into success and life s achievements that u finally accomplished great song !!!
This song is so beautiful and has such a deep meaning behind it. Honestly life gets so hard and you don't know how to control it, it's like your whole world is spinning in this out of control spiral and the only thing that can numb your pain is feeling sadness. It's like over time you just become accustomed to it.
